Can APMEX be trusted?

Just curious... I know a lot of you have suggested using APMEX.com to purchase gold/silver. Has anyone had any issues or problems with them. Is it really safe and reliable to send a check for a silver purchase and expect that the 'goods' will be delivered?
Are they a trustworthy business?

i've also ordered twice and have had no problems at all. and with these dropping prices i may soon be making a third order.

But I've noticed their silver prices (and maybe others that I haven't looked at) are usually a few cents higher than other places ... Not their actual product pricing, but in the actual market price they keep at the top of the screen.

I just placed another order with them just a couple weeks ago. They have always shipped in line with the timelines advertised on their site (waiting for the check to clear, etc.). Every time I have ordered has been with a check, and I have had no problems with them whatsoever.

2 orders without a problem. You order online, send a check out the next day, once they get it, they wait for it to clear and then ship the goods insured and needing your signature to deliver.

I know my roommate used to purchase from them all the time with no problem. I don't believe he ever sent a check though - I'm pretty sure he did all his purchasing online.
He rarely buys silver online anymore, though -he prefers purchasing it from local dealers. I think it's cheaper to do it that way because he pays less "over spot" than he did when he was purchasing online.
