After abolishing the IRS?

I'm a new Ron Paul supporter and I have a couple questions about his ideas/plans so I was hoping some people here could help answer them for me.

1) After abolishing the IRS and any other federal departments he plans on getting rid of, what would happen to all the people who would suddenly be out of work? This extends to not just people actually working at the IRS, but all the other people who work with taxes, are they just left to find new jobs?

On that same topic, there are a lot of good programs going on now that are profitable only because they receive tax credits. If the income tax was abolished, would there be some new measure put in place to encourage these programs or would they just die out?

2) What does he think about global warming and what action would he want to take in relation to it?

If these questions have already been answered somewhere else that you know of and you don't want to type out the same answer again, feel free to just link me there, thanks!

Good morning

Don't let the harsh comments of a few other posters scare you away. Your questions are thoughtful ones that I had to find the answers to myself when I decided to support Dr. Paul.

As for what would happen to all the people currently employed by or as a result of the IRS existing, my best guess would be that in the prosperity that would follow the dissolution of the IRS there'd be plenty of opportunity for employment in an honest line of work. Would EVERYONE have a job? I honestly don't know, but more than likely not. However, does that mean we ought not pursue closing down the IRS? No, absolutely not. They aren't legal, our taxes do nothing other than serve to pay the insterest we owe the private Federal Reserve Bank. The IRS is the primary vehicle through which Americans are being sucked dry of their wealth.

As for the social programs, yes, some of them are good and ought to continue to be funded. Just because the IRS would close doesn't mean that the government would have no revenue. But most certainly a balanced approach to determining what programs remain funded & operational would be the key. Keep in mind though that smaller government with less intrusion into your life means more responsibility for the individual. Related to this...I believe that there'd be a signifigant increase in donations to private organizations as a result of no federal income tax. I would most certainly donate more, would you?

Finally, global warming is a hot button (get it...hot? lol) for many people. After reading quite a bit of material on the subject, I've come to the conclusion that the best approach is the one Dr. Paul endorses. If we are all stewards of our land and held responsible by our neighbors, the enviornment would take care of itself. Pollution is a concern, but mandates to reduce CO2 aren't necessary. In fact, research has conclusively shown that HIGHER CO2 levels are better for MOST life here on Earth. Or you can choose to believe that schmuck Al Gore who creates more pollution and does more damage to the enviornment in a year than about 100 average Americans combined. You know, the guy who believes it's ok to 'overstate the truth' to rally support for his cause.

You decide what you want. Do you want a nanny state that is responsible for everyone, requires everone to be subserviant, and controls us with lies, or do you want the freedom our creator granted us and our government was formed to protect?

Taxes = corruption

Check out the gao.gov website. The federal
agencies people say this country cant do without
cant even be audited, meaning most of the
money collected from taxes goes to corruption.
Each federal agency has a CFO, Chief Financial Officer.
None of them seem to be able to get their agency
to keep enough paperwork to be audited.

Heres a link for the US financial reports.
http://www.gao.gov/financ...

The Comptroller(David M. Walker) recently resigned because
his job was a huge waste of time, for over ten years he
tried to warn the US of the governments wasted
overspending but no one would listen.

Do you think its right to force people to pay taxes that are
used for corruption so the IRS employees can keep their jobs?

I'm sure that there are, and

I'm sure that there are, and especially would be, plenty of jobs that these people could do in the REAL economy after the abolishment of the Infernal Revenue System. Presumably, most have skills in management, accounting, etc. that would be transferable to the private sector. And the auditors could certainly be useful if the Spanish Inquistion ever gets started again.

Dr. Paul..

.. has said he wants to phase programs out. Not end them in one day. With respect to the Fed he has stated he wanted to begin by allowing a gold-backed currency to compete with Fed dollars.

okay

So you think that in order to retain the jobs of people who work for an illegal institution should be allowed to take the jobs of the people who actually work for a living ? okay this really pisses me off !!!!!!! do you see the jobs leaving the states everyday? the big three auto plants are shutting down all around us and hard working people who trusted the unions have nothing now but a buy out ! These assholes driving around in Nissans have no right to call themselves patriots ! Buy a damned Chevy !
Get rid of the FED altogether and let america rebuild it's own right to be what it is.

How do you say federal reserve in chinese anyway ?

you

you didn't answer what about all the unemployment

Who is "you"?

If you believe in free trade, those people laid off from all of those institutions would be *directly* in competition with all of us "who work for a living".

They have college degrees and years of experience in the same corporate functions that any other business has, accounting, information processing, H/R, marketing, sales, ...

Are *you* saying that they should *not* be allowed to apply to the same jobs the many other under/unemployed Americans (and cheap foreigners) are applying for?? Huh?

And if they're out of work, they won't be buying a car *at all*. My 93 Olds has almost 160K miles on it - d'ya think that might be one reason that GM is having problems selling new cars? Home payment or car payment? Which do you think comes first?

Just how long do you think it would take for "America to rebuild its own right to be what it is"? And how do we all survive with a *roof and food* during that period?

Even Schiff stated that there would be no *retirement* for the next generation or two!

You have to take a stand !

My TV is a GE made in the states, My truck is a "FORD" explorer. even my music equipment is all american made , My Amps are MARSHALLS and my guitars are amreican made fenders and gibsons aside from two of them that are "Lado's" made in Canada but I'm a dual citizen so I have the right to do that.

A stand! about what?

This is no longer an issue of where I *buy* things, but what I may be able to sell for *money*, so I don't become one of those living in a tent city!

Like my Baldwin upright piano? Or my professional viola? Or my 1200 stereo albums (some autographed from my time as stage orchestra member for Sinatra/Newton in Las Vegas)? Or my extensive education activist library?

I feel like I'm about to run my own "estate sale", but I'm still alive!

I'll answer two of your questions.

1. After Ron Paul abolishes the IRS it's "agents" will have to work for a living. Before you hand them a shovel you'll need to show them how to use it. As they have spent their lives stealing I sincerely doubt they will be able to produce anything that society would want.

2. There is no global warming. Dr. Paul and other members of Congress are not satisfied with the evidence presented them. As you know Dr. Paul would not dismiss something out of hand unless a claim can be substantiated.

Great minds think alike!

See my long post in this thread going on right now:

Your questions about the *people* are equally valid for those employed by the Fed and the US Dept. of Education, as well as the military personnel brought home.

"there are a lot of good

"there are a lot of good programs going on now that are profitable only because they receive tax credits."

Well i would assume they would be more profitable now because they would not be taxed at all...on the federal level. Being that your new do you have any idea as to the evils of the IRS and the Federal Researve? Did you know that the income tax is compleatly illegal? Did you know that not one penny of the revenue from income tax is used for anything that we expect it to be used for? If you dont a good thing to watch would be the Aaron Russo movie "America Freedom to Facism"

you can watch it for free here
http://video.google.com/v...

I suppose those people would be out of a job but with good sound Monetary policy the Private sector would be able to create so many new jobs.

If a program is truly "good"

then people are willing to pay for it. Subsidizing programs through the coercion of taxation means that they are not viable otherwise. Usually. In other words, the people simply don't value these services enough to pay for them. They are losing ventures. And those who work with taxes can easily find private enterprises willing to hire them, such as auditing. Companies need to track revenue and product inventories, after all.

I mostly agree about

I mostly agree about subsidizing programs, and I'll admit I don't know a lot about most of the other programs that get tax credits, but I was thinking of one in particular and I assume there would be at least a few others that fit in roughly the same category.

Do you know about the low income housing tax credits? They're basically given to people who develop relatively nice apartments for people with low income that otherwise couldn't afford to live somewhere nice (in many areas, nice = safe). The apartments are only allowed to charge a certain amount for rent so they lose money on that, but they sell the tax credits they receive and so they are able to turn a profit. I really think it would be a shame if programs like it came to a halt.

I do know about how bad the IRS and the Fed are and I definitely would like to see them gone, but I'm just trying to think about what would come after that.

To directly take assets (taxes) from

one person for the benefit of another is amoral. The Constitution, originally, expressed the concept of taxation in the context of enumeration. However, the 16th amendment fraudulently changed that. See www.thelawthatneverwas.co....

It seems the 17th amendment may heve been fraudulently ratified, as well.

With a return to Constitutional governance, states, cities, towns and you will become more involved with what concerns you.
