Become a delegate. It´s the road to success.
Question: If NJ is winner take all
And McCandidate won the Feb. 5th primary how does becoming a delegate for Ron Paul amount to anything? Sorry to sound off on a down note but someone please tell me how this makes sense?
This Is the Problem.
Come on where have you been. This is why we will not take this country back. It is about becoming the party. Delegates go to the state conventions and do all kinds of things. I need to learn alot but realize the goals of this movement. If you do not understand that start looking around and understand what is going on.
Changing the playing field
If we get enough NJ delegates they can enact actual policy change for THIS election. That means 2 things:
(1) they can alter the official policy positions of the NJ GOP, and thereby exert influence on the Republican party as a whole. This has been done in several states already - resolutions have been passed to oppose the Patriot Act, the Real ID, the TTC, the NAU, to abolish the FED etc etc.
(2) MOST IMPORTANTLY, it means that the delegates can change the rule that binds them to the winner of the Feb 5th primary. For this election cycle. So if we get enough delegates in place quickly, we can overturn the 'winner take all' policy and McInsane gets nothing guaranteed. The NJ convention delegates can then go to the convention and vote for whoever they want. And if we've managed to get that far then you can bet your bottom dollar that a LOT of those hardworking delegates will be voting for Dr Paul.
This is happening all over the country. This is how we can win the Republican nomination, but we need bodies on the ground, working hard in EVERY state if we're going to make up enough ground on the MSM's anointed one. They're counting on enough of Dr Paul's supporters believing the crap they've been feeding us and losing heart en masse. If we don't do that - if we re-double our efforts, then we beat them all.

Not
Not a down note. It's a valid question. Anybody have an answer?
Hi LatinsforPaul
I posted this on the ronpaulforums and today I had a PM from someone who asks, "I am not familiar with the entire process so I would like to know what exactly will happen on June 3rd 2008.
I know we will be voting in the GOP senate primary but will there be a convention when I go to vote or do I have to go somewhere else for the convention?"
Can you help me give them the answer.
Thanks.

Maybe Dr. Parent can shed some light on June 3...
At-large delegates, district delegates and alternates will be selected during the state Republican primary on June 3, 2008.
These delegates shall be elected by the members of the Republican Party qualified under laws of the State ofNew Jersey to vote in the Republican primary election. This includes those registered to vote as Republicansand persons who prior to the primary election have not declared a party affiliation. The deadline for change of party affiliation is 50 days before the primary election, which is April 14, 2008.
The ten (10) candidates for at-large delegate and alternate receiving the highest number of votesstatewide shall be the at-large delegates and alternates to the convention.
The three (3) candidates for district delegate and alternate receiving the highest number of votes, respectively, within any congressional district shall be the delegates and alternates to the convention from that congressional district.
Thanks ...........
