QUESTION about Silver/Gold

I was thinking about buying some silver bars (10oz) and saw that theres different places have different brand name bars where they were minted, and then there are "generic" bars on top of that. They all have the same silver content, does it really matter if theyre Johnson & Matthey, Northwest Territory mint or anything else?

Well, as long as it is

Well, as long as it is marked .999 silver with the appropriate weight, it should be worth the same no matter the brand.

But, the shop I buy from actually charges more for brands that use fancy designs, most likely because they are a jewelry shop though.

I buy strictly for silver content and go with whatever I can cheapest. At one sop near me it is bars, at another they charge less for rounds.

I guess more known brands could be worth more because they are more trusted to accurately tell purity and weight.

I weigh all of my silver after buying to double check though. Just have to make sure your doing it on troy oz's.

many threads about this

Take a look at the multitude of threads covering this topic in great detail..My only 2 cents, buy in cash from a local coin shop - do not give your credit card, name or address in precious metals purchases. Ever.
