Are posters here confusing Delegates and Precinct committee
persons? In my state the Precinct committeepersons are elected by the people in the primary. We filed for PCP 2 months before the primary-----and if we want to become delegates we need to apply AFTER the primary election. I would think the Republican rules would be pretty much the same everywhere.
I REALLY wanted to be a delegate
but I found out about the process too late..the deadline in Indiana was Feb 22. Grrrrrrrrr! Weird, since our primary is not until May.

PA delegates are directly
PA delegates are directly elected as "uncommited" There are over 60 of us on the ballot and many have top position on the list. We have a great chance to pick up delegates as there is at least one RP supporter on the ballot in every district.
PA is Ron Paul rich.

Central Texas Republican conventions were expected to go off without much to-do, but ended up taking 12 hours to elect delegates and pass party platform resolutions in Travis county.
Delegate Tracy Groff says a group of Ron Paul supporters brought the SD 14 convention to a screeching halt by challenging the selection of delegates headed to the state convention in June.
Another delegate, Peter Lowrie, says it seems they were trying to bend the rules to favor Ron Paul supporters.
Convention Chairman Joe Poyman says it took a while to iron things out, but with a record turnout like the republicans had, he's pleased with the outcome.

Idaho DESPERATELY needs help!
We were just getting started when Ron announced the campaign was "winding down." Many of the supporters still do not understand that he IS running, and they CAN do something. If you know people in Idaho who do not know who to contact, give them my info:

If you have materials, call me and I will give you my address. However, one of my biggest problems is NO ONE WILL MAKE PHONE CALLS OR GO CANVASS. What happened here last week was shameful. 100's of supporters not contacted over a VITAL message, because I could not get more than a handful of people to sit in their own home and make phone calls. That is how "defeated" many Idhao supporters already feel. The scaled-down national campaign hardly interacts with us at all. There is no state coordinator, and almost no contact from the regional coordinator. I am a housewife trying to figure this out as fast as I can, but we have NO experienced people heading up the effort here.
Many of the things that people think it is "too late" to do can STILL be done. PLEASE call your friends here.
Also, if people on this forum really want to help, stop asking everyone to join some third party.
You should be able to find help
by contacting the John Birch Society in Idaho. I know the JBS chapters are active in Idaho, and the members support constitutional candidates. The John Birch Society does not endorse candidates themselves, but members would know of Ron Paul and support him.
Organize canvassing via Meetup groups
There must be some sort of Ron Paul organization in Idaho, or there wouldn't be so many Ron Paul people running for party positions that it made the newspaper:

Have you joined a local Meetup group? That's how I got involved in canvassing.
Canvassing works! Two of us were able to get tripple the state-wide vote in the area we canvassed. We also had Ron Paul for President signs all around the polling place, and stood in front all day, hoping it would encourage people to know that local support from Ron Paul is strong. Best part of canvassing is then you have identified the local supporters and can call on them again to run as delegates, and to vote for Ron Paul supporters running for party offices.
Also: HQ should be able to give you a list of supporters you can call to rally to do the canvassing. Let them know the Revolution is alive and well -- just operating under the radar. And that McCain does NOT necessarily have the campaign clinched.

Here in Nebraska the delegates had to sign up
to become one prior to March 3rd. BUT I think that people can still show up the day of the county conventions which take place the first week of June and still become an alternate delegate as they rarely have enough delegates.
The good thing about Nebraska is that the delegates are NOT bound by the popular vote.
I did allot of calling prior the March 3rd and almost all the Ron Paul supporters I talked to said they would become delegates..so far reports are allot of them did. But in my surrounding counties allot of the ones I talked to did not follow through as that was the same time MSM came out and said he had dropped out. Grrrrrrrr

we had to file to be ON THE BALLOT to be a precinct committeeperson 2 months before the primary. Precinct Committeepersons elect delegates to the national convention. To be a candidate for delegate we apply AFTER our primary election.
Are you confusing PCPs with delegates? Find this out for sure, because it maybe isn't too late to find write-in pcps in your state---and pcps ELECT delegates.

It could be that the system makes
us sick and it is difficult to want to have anything to do with it. It is like trying to embrace an old car your husband drags home and says, "When we fix it up it will be beautiful" the wife of course sees and old rusted out car that should have stayed in the junk yard. Breaking through years of apathy is no easy task especially when it seems our efforts are blocked by media and others. We are being attacked at every level financial, mental and for some physical. I can understand your frustration, when I first joined they said do what you feel comfortable with doing. I did things outside my comfort zone and was proud of myself. But I don't feel capable of becoming a delegate like I wouldn't feel capable restoring an old car. We have lost that positive forward motion because we found out this is a triathlon. I may be comfortable walking but may not know how to swim or ride a bike. Peace
