Liberty items for the troops
Hello all
This is Capt Joshua Tucker. I am currently stationed in Afghanistan.
I would like to see if anyone has any Liberty-type items that they
would like to send in care packages to the troops. I can receive
the packages, unpack them and put them in spots where troops
have access to them. Some items off the top of my head that you
can send:
- Books: We have two areas where troops take and leave used books.
We work long hours, but trust me, we still have some down time.
If anybody wants to purchase Ron Paul's new book and send a few
copies I will make sure they make it to the most highly transited break areas.
- Magazines: If anyone has any left over editions of Reason or anything of the sort I will put them in the break areas. I see people reading lots of magazines.
- Any Ron Paul/Liberty type literature: Slim Jims, business cards,
pam phlets, copies of the Constitution. I can slip them into used books and put them in the break areas.
- Freedom type DVDs, shows, documentaries. "Freedom to Fascism" or "Why We Fight," comes to mind.
- You can mix in basic toiletry items like small shaving gel cans,
toothbrushes, etc.
- Anything else you would like to send
When I talk politics to many of the guys, they have a libertarian
view toward the world. But almost none of them knew of Ron Paul
(a few knew of the Libertarian party). Most of them hate the idea of serfdom toward the government and most have large families with conservative/ libertarian mindsets.
I will be here for 3 more months. It takes approx 10 days for a
package to arrive from the states.

I am buying a big damn box
and going shopping. I have been waiting for a chance at this. Be careful though people, don't forget a lot of these soldier's lives depend on them believing in what they are fighting for. End Game is a little too harsh, I believe. If they don't believe in what they are doing it could be hazardous to them and those around them. From Freedom to Fascism is about as strong as I think we should get. Lots of Ron Paul stuff, and let them know the media basically screwed over America. The media doesn't deserve any interviews from our men and women shedding blood for us all. The media has basically stabbed our people serving right in the back, so please ask these service members to blackball the media. Also, moms and dads of the people serving overseas are very hardcore about doing anything they can to help their sons and daughters serving. Please ask these service members to ask their parents to help spread the message of Ron Paul. These mom and dads will be ferocious in their efforts if asked to do so by their children serving. Keep up the great work. keep this one bumped.

I'm pretty disappointed ..
in my meet up group but particularly the organizer. I send this information to all the meetups I belong to (3) and got NO response. Then the organizer emails me to sign some petition to get him elected to something. Needless to say I was a bit annoyed and decided not to respond. I will be going over there sometime this weekend and will confiscate some of the slimjims (which I helped pay for) if I have to.
I would like to make some DVD's for them as well but most likely the F2F and End Game are already done. I'll try to find more and any suggestions would be appreciated. Give us an idea of how many of any one movie we should send.

Grassroots GOP "support our troops"
Our meetup group involvement in our local GOP brought us an opportunity to choose our participation in the "support our troop" activities they had planned.
We respectfully declined to participate in the sign and flag waving events due to our conflict with the unconstitutional nature of the executive and legislative branches failure to define their mission.
What we did agree would be the best way we could honor the troops, who had supported Ron Paul more than all the other candidates combined in the fourth quarter, was to get involved in the care packages sent to them.
We've been pondering what would be the best items to send them. Thanks Capt. Tucker for your ideas. I'll pass them on.

Glad to see this up again today! I tried yesterday to keep it up for a while but with all the brouhaha going on with the site I thought it was lost!
Please send whatever you can and include some comfort items also! I can't imagine how hard it must be for our soldiers to get real information over there ...but they are interested and do want it!
