If you check out the petition and look at the (.PDF) format you'll see. The name of his "Treasurer" is listed as Joseph Schmuckler! Ha, Ha, Ha, McCain's treasurer is "JOE SCHMUCK" ha, ha, HA, Ha, Ha, Ha!!!! :-)

My suggestion is to file charges with the FCC as he committed to and took public money to run his presidential campaign. So, if he is NOT taking this money, there is another legal issue. John McCain never submitted petitions to be legally placed on the ballot to run in Ohio and Pennsylvania, (and who knows how many other states). Seems like a slam dunk for the Democratic campaign!

Aren’t you happy you have alert people, such as myself, to advise you of this very serious infraction of the rules, not to mention of the campaign laws.

At present, the FEC has only two Commssioners on a 6-member panel. The other four posts are vacant and need to be filled by the Senate. Until that is done, the FEC is toothless, and this petition is nothing but a publicity stunt. The FEC can't raise a quorum to act on any complaint!, no matter how egregiously McCain violates his own rotten law.

I signed the petition myself, because even a publicity stunt raises public awareness of what a hypocritical slimeball McCain is But I don't hold out any hope that the FEC will be enforcing its own rules any time soon.

Since all three MSM-sanctioned candidates happen to be U.S. Senators, one might speculate on how anxious their Senate colleagues are to get the FEC up and running again. The Senate Rules committee, I believe, is the one that appoints commissioners, and it is chaired by Hillary Clinton's buddy Diane Feinstein. Anyone think Hillary wants to run against any Republican opponent but John McCain? Think Feinstein is going to get things moving? LOL!

If he took the government matching funds he would not have to collect supporters signatures to get on the ballot.
He was excused the need for a ground roots support and given a right to be on the ballot because he was going to receive public funds from our taxes because he had a right to be heard to get his point across. So he didn't need to campaign and he didn't need to have support.
Then when he is winning he withdraws!!!!!!!!!
He is winning, he can raise money and he needs no f**king law to stop him being President. Except he put the law into place!
I didn't take the public money but I did take not having to get support to be on the ballot doesn't cut it with me.
He is, as all these people, except RP, a lying deceitful bastard who would learn more respect about our constitution in jail than in congress.
Now I don't imagine he can win. Unifying the party behind a piece of polished sh*t is not a winning policy.
But right now we have Hillary and Obama.

Billions and Trillions of dollars are just talked about as though it is OK. That's government business.

We would be better off if he doesn't accept matching funds people this opens up lost of states to revoke his delegates for failure to comply with the law to be on the ballot.

It's amazing that McCain would blatantly violate the laws of the nation that he is attempting to become president of.

Who wants to bet that McCain will deny responsibility and will blame it on one of his campaign advisers or a campaign employee who made a "mistake." Maybe McCain ought to be officially notified of this, and have it video recorded, so he cannot claim it was someone else's fault.

on top of his 100 year wars and closet amnesty dealings, also has an FEC snag. Obama has twenty years of Pastor Wright and a woefully authoritative, socialist, legislative record in Illinois. Lest I forget, Clinton with her husband, missing White Water files, Vince Foster and Peter Paul.

I would postulate the weather to be quite stormy for some, but yet, sunfully energized for Dr. Paul.

Bump. I have read the correspondence (that's been made public) between McCain and the FEC. The last thing I read was from the FEC to McCain and all they did was invite McCain to expound on his theory that he had some kind of valid legal position from which he could withdraw from public funding. That's how I interpreted their letter. I don't recall reading anything from the FEC which might be interpreted as the FEC agreeing with McCain's position.

I have read that the FEC cannot raise a quorum to hold an official meeting because the Senate has failed to appoint new Commissioners to fill 4 vacancies on the 6-member panel. Until this is done, complaints and even the most blatant violations of the law will go nowhere. The Senate needs to fill these vacancies immediately! Otherwise there is effectively NO NATIONAL OVERSIGHT over the 2008 election. Reference see item IX: http://www.petitiononline...
