Another Waste of US Taxpayer Time & Dollars: Going fishing? Pack your passport
By Mimi Hall, USA TODAY | March 28, 2008
Rick Ungar's charter fishing service promises a great time on Lake Erie. But there's a catch — and it's not freshwater fish. It's the Homeland Security Department's new anti-terrorism rules.
When the 2008 charter season begins next month, U.S. citizens paying to fish on Lake Erie will have to bring either a passport or two other IDs if they plan to cross the northern border's invisible watery line.
When they get back to shore in the USA, they'll have to drive to a local government reporting station and pose for pictures. They won't be posing with their fish, but for Customs officers via a videophone connection.

Yeah, like the real
terrorists are going to go to the local government reporting station. Once a real terrorist is ashore, they're not going to follow our laws. This seems like a way to track American citizens, not thwart terrorism.

Don't do it.
Don't go fishing with any charter company that requires you to do this. If nobody complies, the charter companies will have to fight this or lose business. If you comply, they will just keep tightening the screws forever.
I am willing to give up my driver's license in the near future if need be. I am also looking at dropping my income to poverty level and denying the machine its lifeblood -- taxes.
Yeah - let the charter company raise a stink

this country
has gone to hell. Lets take over local government. Start running for office and reject this kind of thing
BINGO!!
It all starts at the local level. It's time to take back the authority the federal government has usurped.
