Help us 'Jump-Start' Goldthorpe Fundraising - Donate $20 now...

We're asking for and being considered for a Ron Paul endorsement for Linda Goldthorpe (www.GoldthorpeforCongress...) for Michigan's First Congressional District Congressional seat, currently held by Democrat, Bart Stupak (he's an eight-term, going for nine, on his way to being a lifer in Congress). We've spoken with RP's campaign, and will be speaking to them again in a few days (and yes, they're the ones that said we need money NOW...not that we didn't already realize that).
She formally announced last Wednesday (showing up as far away as Chicago, of all places - http://www.chicagotribune...)
Unfortunately, you can't run on "Principle" alone. Money equates out to credibility. We are gearing up to hit the folks in our state now anyways, in a big way, but it would be nice to be able to say that were outpacing the front-runner in fundraising (which we can't say...yet). We are not the "well-oiled" GOP political machine that is backing Linda's opponent in the primary - we're plain folks, just like you.
I know that all of you have been stellar in opening up your wallets, and donating money to furthering the cause of freedom in our country. No one said it will be easy, or cheap. Linda lines up with Dr. Paul on nearly every issue. And she's made the commitment and sacrifice to "run", which is no easy thing to do. We're doing this with or without Ron Paul's endorsement. but it would be a help to have it.
It would be nice to raise $10,000 in the next week - we'd like to be able to tell the RP people the money's in the bank when we speak with them next. At any given time on Daily Paul there are 500 people on the site. If everyone gave $10 or $20 right now it would be a great help towards jump-starting the fundraising machine.
Linda's spent a great deal of her own money traveling the district (which is the second largest in the U.S.A. area-wise). She's dedicated to putting in whatever it takes to win the August primary, and then to beat Stupak in November. She's the only one that has even a remote chance of beating Stupak - a very polished and savvy politician who will not give up his seat easily. The other candidates stepping up to the plate offer more of the same - war, fall in-step with party "leadership", and give the reigning powers the ok to continue with the plan, as is. We need to fight to replace much of Congress with people willing to put principle above party; willing to fight for US, and not big business and special interests.

I just dropped her $20.00. She has only gotten $215.00 so far everyone. We need to step it up. We can have an impact if we all stretch ourselves out a little and donate to these candidates. Please dig deep if you truly believe in what we are doing.

Thank you for your donation! If we all put in just a little bit of focused effort, we can make a difference. We need to show the people of our district that the ideas that Linda subscribes to are worthy of supporting.
Our primary competitor has raised $1620 from a total of 39 donations. Right now we are at $300 from 11 donors. If 400 people here gave just $5 now, we'd have a total of $2300, from 411 supporters. That's just $5 - most of us lose that much change in the washer in a week.
We're gearing up our own, targeted fundraising program utilizing email, direct mail, and phone calls to district voters - we certainly realize that RP supporters nationwide will not be the only ones that can fund this campaign. However this is an important time for us and we can use whatever you can give.

because RP's endorsement is the key to fundraising, not vice versa. I would never believe that ability to raise money has anything with RP's endorsement, because than he should endorse Obama or Hillary or even Rudy :>
No, I recommend do nothing before endorsement unless you really know that person.

bump. You know it costs so little to support several dozen Ron Paul style candidates that pop up on the Daily Paul. Everyone that pops up, I send in $20. So far I've pitched in for Murray Sabrin and Jim Forsythe. At this rate I might actually spend $100 to $120 by June. That's $20 a month. That's not even $1 a day to help work toward a network of RP style candidates.

On principle alone, Ron should have no problem endorsing Linda. But we have to go by what HIS campaign says. We've spoken with Lew Moore (just this past Friday) on a conference call to discuss the endorsement. Of course, principles are critical to Ron, but Lew's put us to task to raise money NOW (and we know this is something we have to do anyhow - with, or without Ron Paul's support).
Our focus, up to this point, has been to get our ducks lined up. We are ordinary people - not a "well-oiled political machine". Linda, with the help of volunteers, has gotten all the signatures necessary and is the FIRST congressional candidate to file with the State of MI (http://miboecfr.nictusa.c... - top candidate). Her 16 year old son, Isaac, is our webmaster (although we're getting some help now from the master, Adam DeAngeli, the webmaster of www.Michigan4RonPaul.com).
I'm no stranger to the Ron Paul campaign since May of last year. I got the campaign the 1-877-RON-PAUL phone number; been a county coordinator and worked a number of events, including a booth at the Emmet County fair; worked the Mackinac Bridge Walk with Paul Garfield, at that time the MI Campaign Mgr.; attended the Mackinac Island GOP conference; to name a few things I've done.
I started our Meetup group back in May of last year (http://ronpaul.meetup.com...) which has held a number of events for Ron Paul through that.
And Linda spoke at the SE Michigan Ron Paul event held a few weeks ago (see http://www.dailypaul.com/...). Call Sean House if you doubt Linda's integrity - (248) 224-1973 and he'll confirm that everyone loved her speech. Here's a comment that showed up here on DP from someone that saw her there:

So, in closing, to the person who says this is nonsense, I understand your urge for donators to be "cautious" but your recommendation, in this case is un-merited.
