But definitely later this month. (April 27th) And why not make it a dailypaul.com money bomb? This way we get dailypaulers to donante and leave it up to them to recruit other donors. But also Im thinking of a money bomb... with a GOAL. Before it was "raise X amount to win". Notice there is a goal. Almost like a theme.

My vote to what the goal should be is.. "raise X amount to (respectfully) request Ron Paul to challenge mccain to a duel...I mean debate. Everyone would love to see that... although Im not sure how the good doc would recieve that request. I always thought that was the game plan... I mean what else does "now its down to two" mean. It measn the two need to duke it out. But, maybe RP has a different strategy.

Furthermore, (and Im skeptical of this) maybe it would be better to have an advertisement money bomb. Instead of donating to the campaign organize, focus and concentrate the money bomb towards an event or advertisement. Like hightide, or the granny march... preferrabley something better and more impactfull.

There's quite a few people signed up. Perhaps they could combine it with a money bomb and get e-mails our to their list. I think there are over 1,250 people signed up on that site, according to RonPaulGraphs.com

Why doesn't the campaign check in?

Probably because, if they communicate with us in any way that could be interpreted as giving us instructions or coordinating with us, all the money we spend, the value of the resources we use (such as our internet accounts, rooms, envelopes, ...), and the value of all the work we do comes under the campaign finance laws.

If we want to work independently, avoiding entangling Ron and ourselves in the campaign finance laws, we have to do it REALLY independently. That means we don't get anything but the public pronouncements from the campaign. And that also means the campaign workers won't be posting here.

This is 'ours'. They do what they do and so do we. We cannot expect anyone but the few DP users to be here.

You did a great job. There was so much confusion at first with the Coast to Coast thing, and then somebody wanting to make (this bomb) a gift through chip-in, and then well, on and on.

I actually was concerned that the word didn't seem to go beyond DailyPaul, because I didn't see activity promoting it anywhere else. (I am not on RP Forums, but I didn't see it there; and someone posted that Daily Dose on the HQ website didn't know about it until later in the day.)

If we do it again, it's GOT to get out around the web to all forums, meetups, all the rest.

when I called them a few days ago. I wonder why the ticker didnt change. It was at the same number well before April 1st. It should have moved... it didnt. But you did great it organizing it, liberty girl. Give yourself a self-high-five!! 12k aint nothin to shake a stick at.

Given that recent days have been less than 6 donors and maybe a couple hundred dollars total, this is a money bomb of sorts: certainly less powerful than $6 million, but a good showing none the less. We just funded two more rallies, or two more trips for Ron to campaign.

RP is now a feature on business shows and we should be proud of that. Start giving your money to worthy candidates for Congress. We can still make a big difference there.

The campaign is dead but the movement is not.

And I don't think a single day goes by when Ron Paul doesn't give this idea serious thought. But to run third party would require he give up his congressional seat, or not run for President in Texas, as apparently he cannot run for two offices in different parties on their ballots. I am sure Ron would like to stay in Congress, where he is highly effective and has a chance to make a difference. The reality, as Ron states, is that third parties have an impossible time getting on all the ballots, and then convincing people their votes aren't wasted.

Consider: As a Republican, Ron Paul had a hard time convincing people to vote for him, because even in the primaries, in his own major party, people were saying "a vote for Ron Paul is wasted because he can't win." How much moreso will that be said when he is a third party candidate? This is a tough issue with no easy answer.

I truly believe that McLame and O-bomb-a are six of one and half a dozen of the other. There is no substantive difference between the two (or Hillary either). But convincing all of America of this is very difficult.

Ask Pat Buchanan about running third party. He will tell you it is gruelling, earns you all sorts of scorn, and in the end you come up short, even though you put just as much of yourself into it as if you were a Republican candidate. Ron Paul probably feels like he could not handle all that right now, and I can totally understand that.
