Are we really going to do it?

I watched this video late at night, when watching videos like this seems to hit more directly to my brain. Almost every time I hear Dr. Paul speak on almost every issue there are two things that go through my mind 1) Man is he right. 2) Man he must sound nuts to the majority.

This is a real dilemma for us that we should not underestimate in our effort to restore Constitutional government. We can win. Well past the election of 2008 we have MUCH to do. I was privileged to visit with Dr. Paul in my office (you can see the wonderful pics at my website) and discuss the work ahead.

2008 is a catalyst year, but let's not be fooled. Dr. Paul is like a sniper in this video, but it will take an army to bring about change. It is because of Dr. Paul that I re-wrote what I called "A Call to Action." Some have suggested that I lack faith in Dr. Paul or his efforts, or that I am too critical of this movement. The arguments they use are the same arguments that would keep Dr. Paul from speaking this candidly with Chairman Bernanke.

Let's think straight, talk straight, and aim straight. Are we really going to do this? Then we need to dig in. FreeCapitalist kudos to DailyPaul.com for all you're doing here.

Sincerely,
Rick Koerber

NOBODY IS LISTENING

freedumb is not free! Shouldnt everyone in the room be paying the utmost attention to the people who are speaking? I dont know i kinda think this is important, shouldnt they? its like they all just go through the motions.

THE BOBBLEHEAD IS A PLANT.

y is there even the slightest bit of doubt about this? does no one else realize that the presentation of EVERY pixel on camera on the MSM is carefully thought out and planned? he is NOT an aide. he is NOT just some guy. the producer/director/cameraman/securityguard is NOT gonna let a random person walk in and sit behind Dr. Paul LIVE on camera. he is OBVIOUSLY a plant meant to distract the viewer from Dr. Paul's message. and a damn good one too. still, truth > bobblehead.

also, pretty girls are pretty distracting, dont u think?

I agree with you on "bobblehead"

but didn't see the pretty girls you were referring to.

I was waiting for the

the guy to lean forward and keel over. Must be another one of the Bush relatives poised to take over a new investigation of 911. Possible McCain running mate.

9/11 was an inside job .....time to get some answers..RP 2008

Has Anyone Seen This One Too?

watch all the wall to end - Ron's closing comment is a stinger!!
http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Great !

Simply the things I want to know !
Even if Bernanke does not answer to the "philosophical" questions of Ron Paul, I'm glad he did ask him. That's so important !
Again Dr Paul did a great job here.

diggs @75

I think people are missing

I think people are missing the point here. Paul got him. He got Bernanke. What do I mean?

First off, Bernanke is more forthcoming than people are willing to give here. I mean he is constantly at least acknowledging the insight of Paul and often does say he agrees with him. Others could have just tossed him to the side and did some double talk and not even answer. Bernanke answers him.

Second, what I loved about this was that even with in Bernanke's attempt to answer Paul incompletely, Bernanke, in his search to appease Paul to a degree while also not be completely forthright, inadvertently found himself actually where Paul was going. In other words, Paul was, as always, trying to show that Bernanke, or any Chairman or authority, is not as good as the raw mobility and interactions of the us as a market. Bernanke unintentionally fell into that at the end about the interest rate and regulating it.

Bernanke was trying to answer Paul. He wanted to give him something but Paul was good enough in his argument and Bernanke forthcoming enough that Bernanke got trapped. That moment showed Bernanke and the whole system's failing. Paul got him. He was smiling at the end cause he knew he got him and Bernanke knew too. That is why Bernanke was stumbling at the end cause he realized what Paul was finally saying. He used words like neutral and other euphemisms for the market. I mean if Bernanke said the word market than that would have been the end of the game. But Paul got him and it was great. And just to ram it home at the end Paul said, "And someday we may try the market..." so to equate Bernanke and his co-workers making the decision to some other people making the same decision, which also nullified any real specialty about the fed.

Anyway, I thought it was great if for nothing else but the end.

Does Benny boy

even know himself that our currency is not backed by gold? Hey Benny, we are big boys and girls! Let the citizens learn about the markets, economy, and monetary policy! And for those citizens that choose to remain ignorant, may they suffer their own consequences!

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Grim Reaper

In God We Trust!

What's the big deal? If you observe closely, you will see that this is just a woman with a very full and long dark hair exiting the room.
Why is it that there are always those who like to imagine and excite the senses when there is always a simple explaination?
Too much fiction book reading in the past I suppose!

Don't take things so seriously

Obviously we all know that THE Grim Reaper did not make an appearance in Congress. Obviously we ALL KNOW that it was a person dressed in black, with long black hair. Obviously she was bending, stooping, so as not to be seen on camera. Obviously. But that doesn't mean we can't share in a little levity from time to time. Laugh sometime, Holbrook. It feels good to laugh. You should try it.

I was going to say the same thing

although not convinced it was hair, it looked more like a covering of some kind, if not, it's waaaaay too much hair, LOL. Anyway, it we didn't laugh every now and then it would be easy to get depressed with all of this stuff coming down.

Tying the FREE MARKETS to a gold backing STABILIZES..

our monetary system. If banks fail, they fail. If their own lending practices cause failures, so be it. We don't come to the rescue of other businesses. Why should we rescue banks.

It has been nice to "take a break" from all the mad pace prior to Super Tuesday. I hope everyone else is resting as well.

May God Bless you all...

Ron Paul's comment about letting the market

control the interest rates ignores the mandate of the Full Employment Act of 1946 which requires the Fed to regulate the money supply so as to bring unemployment down to 3% or less.

While there is no formula for how to do that, it does give Bernanke all the cover he needs to avoid letting the market adjust the interest rate.

Famous Quote from Justice William O. Douglas

"The Constitution is not neutral.
It was designed to take the government
off the backs of people."

I would be really surprised

I would be really surprised if they ever successfully brought the unemployment rate down to 3%. There is a natural unemployment rate in this country of about 6% (but it comes in cycles). If they try to bring it down any more, an eyebrow should be raised over who is getting hurt by that or if the number is even real to begin with.

Well

That Act, along with the Fed, needs to be rescinded. This ought not be a fascist/socialist land. Guaranteed employment is not a birthright.

The good doctor needs to ask

The good doctor needs to ask more pointed questions. Must Americans know nothing about how markets work or how a currency works. Dumb it down and put 'ol Benny on the grill.

Ron Paul has big

balls. He could be killed for 1/10th of a percent of the shit he says. He has the courage of a warrior. I love em. He is not afraid of these sobs.

She is leaning over it is

She is leaning over it is her long black hair..sillies.

Please don't say stuff like that right now!! I am superstitious.

The Hunchback of the House of Reps?

Who leans over and walks like that? I swear it is the Grim Reaper. I suppose it could be a witch.

I thought it was a good

I thought it was a good speech. the fed are slippery people, Bernanke is a very fast talker and was able to do damage control, you dont get to that level and not be smooth. I thought Ron as always did great.

omg

that is freakin wierd,,,,, I watched that like 4 times and did not see it. That is totally th e Grim Reaper!

Wait, just got back from dinner

have watched this video 2 times, and just now saw what you are referring to as the "grim reaper", but you are right. Now why would any normal person be dressed like that, what is the logical explanation. Was it a nun, someone in a berka, I mean who was that person leaving this session midstream through a side door dressed like that? The only thing missing is the sickle, and it is not Halloween.

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

another elected official?

The bald guy and the girl, are they elected officials, or are the aids to the excutive branch?

Anyone see the Grim Reaper leaving the room

Scrub to about 6:12 and watch as the grim reaper enters stage right and walks out the door in the center of the frame.

Bizarro!

That was just Dick Cheney,

That was just Dick Cheney, making a brief appearance before going out riding with the other four horsemen for a bit of apocalyptic fun and mayhem.

Of course!

LOL

Now if we could just find out who the bald dude and the cute (but kinda psychotic-looking) girl behind Ron are.

You get the gold star

for catching that, I don't think any of us saw it untill you brought it up.

ROFL! :)

ROFL! :)

PLEASE!!!

Somebody HAS to know who that bobblehead was and WHY was he sitting there..... that's INSANE.... I have no logical reason for him

"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"

You mean that

rubber necked chrome-dome clown? He's there, of course, to distract viewers from Dr. Paul's message... this is just one of the low scurrilous trick the MSM resorts to whenever they can.

The cure would have been to smack that nitwit in the face with a fat piece of wet leather... would have slowed him down quite a bit, I think....

OMFG I watched the video,

OMFG I watched the video, then read the comments in this thread then watched it again and was in asolute tears! ROFL! Damian's sister! LOL You guys are hilarious!

The purpose of these

The purpose of these sessions while important to be publicly accessible is for the congress to address the Fed. Joe and Jane six pack are never going to watch this stuff! Ron is talking to Bernanke. I agree it was a long question but being strong in economics I liked his approach. It's like slowly roasting a nut over the fire (pun intended), I could feel Ol' Helicopter squirming. God I'd love to be a fly on the wall after he's done with these sessions.

the video is not working

the video is not working

Dr.Paul Congressional staff should never let

that kid anywhere near him.

People also should bombard MSNBC for misspelling his last name as Pauk.

Let's sharpen up here boy's & girl's! We are being toyed with.

Yeah, that "Fidgeting Bobblehead"

appears to love the camera and has been seen in several screenshots in front of or beside politicians whom donot even know him. This man has one or 2 teeth and doesnot respond to questions asked of him in a cognitive manner. He in turn knowingly or unknowingly makes the politicial agenda of the politicians ( which he somehow has been able to get in front view of the Cameras) appear less desirable or meaningful to the viewer. Some people are addicted to following celebrities and this "bobblehead" is one who is addicted to following politicians around and getting in front of the cameras with them. If I recognize having seen him on tv , you would think by now that government officials would know he is a distractor. He is annoying that's for sure.

I didn't think they just let unknown people

into these sessions, I would think there would be enough people upset with the FEDs at this point they would do some screening. The other strange one was next to Bernanke who looked scared to death--maybe that was a subliminal message too, don't question anything he has to say because of their position of power.

Wow, you would think that he

Wow, you would think that he would be automatically barred from entering such a forum? Unless the powers that be really do want to distract the viewers from the testimony being presented? Hmmmmm ........

That was the first thing I thought of

he had to be a background distraction, it worked for me, and I really was interested in hearing what was said, so how about others who are half listening. At one point the guy actually had to prop up his head to keep it from bobbeling. Also, I think the name plate said Pauk, instead of Paul, I mean how hard is it to get 4 letters correct.

Damn, that fidgeting

Damn, that fidgeting bobblehead behind Ron made me continually distracted! That guy should have either gone to the bathroom and gotten it over already, or been ejected as a disruption to the testimony. How embarrasing, to see a grown man diplaying all the respect and attention of a five year old hyperactive boy.

Ron Paul should not have minced words, and said flat-out what he kept hinting at that we were moving into: Fascism.

The question and the background.

As usual, Dr. Paul understood the problem, and expressed it in his question to Mr. Bernanke. Unfortunately, I do not think that he was as concise as he is sometimes, and it took too long (IMHO) for him to get to the point of the actual question. I think Dr. Paul needs to get a little more with the "program" as it concerns "sound bytes". Of course we aknowledge his superior knowledge of economics (as opposed to the other candidates), but it has also been shown that many average people cannot understand a lot of what he is saying when the discussion gets into Austrian Business Cycles and such. It may be - as unfortunate as it is - that Ron Paul may need to (occasionally) "Dumb Down" his rhetoric so that Joe and Jane Sixpack can grasp the concepts.
ALSO - Who was the guy behind him at that hearing???
SIR - you may be an invaluable aide, but PLEASE stay OFF camera!!!
You were swaying back and forth at times like a bald, white Stevie Wonder!! To borrow/steal/adapt a campaign slogan from Bill Clinton -
"It's the MEDIA Stupid!!" In this Youtube/myspace universe, you have to LOOK good - NOT just BE good!

Bernanke

makes is sound like the "working group" is so inocuous, just casual meetings talking together about the economy. And who is that guy behind Ron Paul who keeps bobbing his head all over the place, it is really distracting and weird?

THIS IS THE ONE TO WATCH!

you have to check this out -
post this on home page above Apr 2

The FED is GOING DOWN!

"Some day we might try the market to determine interest rates."

Bernanke is such a tool.

Thanks for the link fanofwalt...

Against my better judgement ( ;-) ) I clicked on the Morton Downey Jr. link to watch the good doctor. What a flashback to see that show...

One of Dr. Paul's strengths is his civility, respect and capacity for rational arguments that he demonstrates towards his opponents. I wouldn't want to see him compromise that. On the other hand it was pretty cool to see him turn loose the fire in his belly in that clip.

I too would like to see him respectfully get more pointed and direct with his questions towards helicopter Ben and his ilk. The American public could use the education before they fall further in line to support even more government and an even more powerful Fed. The headlines that a confrontational Dr. Paul would garner could open some eyes.

Dr. Paul, drop the "F" bomb- fascism.

There are other reasons why

There are other reasons why Ron Paul are being cautious right now. I am not at liberty to share..even though I am the Liberty Girl

Trust me..you need to give the man a break. I also think he is bewildered by the black out the media and corruption has caused his campaign..but will lose his credibility in Washington all together if he speaks up too much about it.

I thought it was good. He was trying to get his message out and used the beginning of his time..to do so on public television.

I Miss The Fire

RP said some important things, but I, too, long for fire and enthusiasm, such as he displayed in his 1988 encounter with Morton Dumba$$ Jr.. Perhaps the passage of time has dampened RP's fire; perhaps he's merely speaking more cautiously in light of his current campaign; either way, I do wish he'd turn it up a notch and really call the FED on the carpet. Who else in congress is gonna do it?

Yet, I am thankful that he got some time to ask Bernanke the questions he did get in.

Yes, the fire

I'm not so sure the campaign is the reason he holds back. We have to remember that threatening, or even thinking about, taking down the Fed can be hazardous to one's health. Despite the fine suits and polite language, these people are very organized criminals without conscience and fully committed to achieving their goal of world government. If the Federal Reserve Act is to be repealed, it's going to take some very careful action on the part of Dr. Paul and a lot of help from us.
