gold and silver
so... i truely believe the economy is going down the tubes and i would like to start preparing for the future, namely college funding for my two kids 5yr and 1yr old. i do have an IRA account with my company and hopefully one day it will pay off, but im not very stock market savvy and frankly dont really trust it. with only a measly 50 or so fiat dollars of average weekly pay that i can use for whatever i want, can anyone help me figure out the best way to start investing in gold and/or silver. ive done some reasearch, it seems silver is the way to start out simply because its cheeper, but should i go looking for silver dollar pieces.. or maybe save up for 10 ounce bars??? does this make sense to anyone of you guys???

Local coin or pawn shop, eBay
I bought some old 90% silver dimes (about 500) in various different auctions on eBay. They were between 50 and 60 dollars per roll of 50 coins. Since they are the smallest denominations available, they may end up being the most useful for personal transactions if paper money becomes completely useless. I have also purchased 99.9% silver troy ounces called international trade units from my local coin shop. They charge whatever the daily silver spot price is plus 50 cents. They also told me they had to charge sales tax unless I spent $1000. I also found two of these at a pawn shop and they didn't charge sales tax. If you can find pre-1965 circulated silver coins for less than 13 times face value, it's a fair price.
economics for dummies
Ron Paul is great, BUT, he needs to speak in shorter, simpler sound bits to impact joe sixpact at the voter booth. Obamba is and effective example of energizing dummies. Paul is honest and principled but I don't think he realizes how effective the government school indocrination program has dumbed down the masses.
Oh I think he does realize it
He is not going to stoop to it even to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. He has to be himself or he loses credibility if people see him pandering.

Yes it was the best
Yes it was the best interview I have heard. The N.C. one seemed rushed to give him 2 minutes. The other guy I thought asked great questions and got a lot of info out on the airwaves.
