Get this out to your meetups and any other place you can think of NOW!
There have been many that have asked to me get some info out about the problems they had during their convention, now if anyone can get to me video or audio of what has happened at their convention i can address these one by one. But lets focus on where your group lost or where you feel you were (cheated) or believe things were not done in the proper manner by the chair for now.
First keep in mind the Chair is not the end all be all and does not conrtol the meeting the Chair is in place to assure that the meeting follows the POINT OF ORDER.
In this video i want everyone to learn from the mistakes these people made at about 3:30 in this video.
A motion was raised to call the question and then was voted on.
The Chair was out of order when he allowed someone to call the question while in debate on the question if the assembly does not vote 2/3 majority for in this case the debate continues until the debate has ended or the assembly votes with a 2/3 majority to call the question.
Here is where the people posing the question went wrong and the chairman was out of order and this is why the chair was out of order : someone moved for a call for division which means a hand count on the vote on the floor : THIS IS NOT VOTED ON AND NO 2ND is needed then the hand count must commence and is NOT DEBATABLE in any way.
The reason they wanted a hand count was to make sure the vote was counted correctly and as you can see it was disputed which is why the call for division was called.
When the chair moved to put it to a VOTE when he said "ALL IN FAVOR OF DIVISION" the chair WAS OUT OF ORDER and someone should of stood up and stated : Mr Chairman Point of order, The chair would then ask the person who had the floor what is your point of order and that person should have stated that call for division DOES NOT require a vote and is NOT DEBATABLE therefor The hand count must take place.
Personally i prefer in this instance to : call for a rising vote to which the correct term would be : I MOVE FOR A RISING VOTE : This works the same way as the hand count except instead of hands raised you are required to stand to be counted and IS NOT DEBATABLE and DOES NOT need a 2nd to pass and must be put to a standing vote NO EXCEPTION!
How to over rule the chair :
As i stated above the Chair is not the end all be all and does not conrtol the meeting the Chair is in place to assure that the meeting follow the POINT OF ORDER. Any Chair decision may be overturned.
You may appeal and decision of the chair so long as you have a 2nd and the majority of the vote being 50% plus 1 vote to pass the appeal.
This is called : Appealing the decision of the Chair and the correct way to do this is : I appeal from the decision of the Chair : The Chair must then sit and call for a 2nd and then must call for a vote and again ALWAYS if you are in doubt : I MOVE FOR A RISING VOTE to be sure the vote is accurate.

You have been an awesome resource and have tirelessly helped with your extremely important info...dont get so testy...you must realize your posts have been kept bumped for weeks! I save all of yours as some others are also and try to keep bumped when I am on here...but jeez..pls realize we all have lives and cant make this a full time job! It is a number one priority in my life but I cant moniter DP all day every day to bump your important info...so dont get discouraged... or testy about it...you are invaluable on the delegate info and we all appreciate it!
Also, I was glad to see that you took the "high road" after all on the trevor debate...let it come out on Nolan and people can decide for themselves...your info is too valuable to be interupted by that kind of thing! Thanks for letting it go....finally!

It also seems i see the same people bumping this info and very few others.

Glad to see this post. We are having our district conventions later this month in KY. I will study and spread the word.
We can all say what needs to be done, but who here lead by example today?

The 2nd and 3rd audio link interviews give a blow-by-blow description of how it went in Texas in different districts: one where they were able to make friends prior to the convention, and one where GOP leadership were determined to fight them off.
This is one of those comparisons that should give you strategists a great many ideas, including such ideas as inviting party officials to dinner in advance, or asking to be put on the agenda at the beginning to introduce yourselves (or some representative subset of yourselves). These 2 audio files are worth the time to listen to as you prepare.

Although i am the district organizer here we have had several meetings and i have prepared everyone for making motions if we are the majority. It looks like 60-100 RP supporters coming in my district. We have gone over Roberts rules several times. We shall see. We are prepared for the worst. I do not thing we are having a state convention though this year

My caucus is in the morning in Massachusetts, this was put out by some of the organizers. Whats your thoughts
Please keep your eye on the goal for tomorrow - electing our candidates as delegates.
Two issues have been raised late in the game-changing the caucus chairperson and bringing resolutions up for a discusion/vote.
Our Mass. Republican caucus rules (available on the Boston Meetup files section) allow only for election of delegates at tomorrow's caucus.
The Chairperson is elected by State and National Committee members. There are no provisions in the rules to change the chair at the caucus. Nor is any allowance made to bring up or debate any question.
Please attend the caucus with one purpose only in mind - follow the rules and elect our candidates.

Your goal is to become elected as delegates so unless you are 2/3 majority i would stir too much trouble but as long as you are 50% plus 1 you can pretty much do as you wish but remeber what your real goal is.
Considering i have not seen your bylaws i can not help you much and it would of been nice to have them before today at 12:30 am which now makes it april 5th the day of your caucus.

You hit the nail on the head on that one and it is hard to inject a "sense of urgency" that some of us feel! This is NOW! How much harder will it be after years more of this control? How long did it take for a "Ron Paul" to be heard ? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and the time is now! I hear and feel the "sense of urgency" and the fristration in trying to get that across can be overwheming...but keep trying...we have to! I applaud your fortitude and effort to get this vital information out!
