Question for my friends on the board

I was just wondering, who is everybody? Not like your names, but you know, who are you, what do you do, when did you start getting interested in politics, etc.

who is hoping to return to teaching. 42 years old with a 10 year old daughter. I have always voted, though most of the time just felt like I was picking the lesser ot two evils. I voted for Perot. First time I saw Ron Paul was in the first Republican debate. I was hooked.

If anyone knows of a school that needs a math teacher somewhere near mountains......let me know.

Happy Camper

53, Married female, living in eastern PA. I'm an office manager for a construction equipment dealership. It's an exciting time to be a Pennsylvanian! Ron Paul has provided all the answers to the questions we've pondered around many campfires. One of the ah-ha moments I had was realizing that even if you pay off your mortgage, you don't really OWN your home---just try not paying the taxes! I've never been more thankfull to own our motorhome, complete with a generator. My 28 yr old son & I are heading to Gettysburg this Friday, and I've heard from other friends that our signs are EVERYWHERE in the Commonwealth!

artist/student in Chicago

I'm an art student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago... I've always kinda liked politics, but Dr. Paul really fired me up and has laid the solid foundation for my political beliefs... so in that sense, he's kind of my hero, at least politically.

I'm originally from Colorado, and my heart is still in the mountains...

Live in the mountains

by a creek, gorgeous views. My husband retired as a BG for the guard; we spent a year at the War College in Carlisle, PA where RP will be speaking soon. Wonder how many WC students will be there to hear RP speak including the foreign Fellowship students. Hope they all show up.

One of those "young people"

Razorwind Studios is an official endorser of Ron Paul, and we will live free or die! 14th alternate to MN state!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Looks like I am the resident young person. I turned 19 on March 31 this year. I am in college, but I definately don't smoke pot. In fact, I have never even smoked a cigarette or had more than a sip of alcohol (can't stand the taste).

Ever since I first read our Constitution, I have been in love with what it represents. I found out from my dad that I was a Libertarian. I was never active in politics because I was always too young. Then, in early winter this year, my dad told me about this guy who ran for president for the Libertarian party, and how he held almost all of the same positions on the issues as I did. I sort of blew him off for a while, until one fateful day in very late January...

I was in my dorm room, and three people came and knocked on our door. They were canvasing for Ron Paul, and informed us about the rally before super tuesday. This sparked my curiosity and I started to look up his positions for myself, and I basically said OMGHCWTF this guy ROCKS! I attended the rally, and had to fight to hold back tears because I was so happy! I finally felt home... I was finally with people who felt the way I do, and it was truly awesome.

I went to the precinct caucus and became an alternate, then I went to the county convention and became an alternate. I couldn't get seated at the congressional district convention, though. I had to leave after an hour because I had a killer headache...

I watched the appropriate movies, and have been following the daily paul and the campaign website every day. I look forward to helping our rEVOLution as it keeps moving forward!

20 year old security guard

20 year old security guard in a small town in central PA. I was never really into politics, but i always had a little libertarian streak in me. I beleived the bush lies for some time but never really payed attention to it. Then a friend of mine told me to check out Ron Paul. The name stuck because he refered to him as Ron "Mutha F*ckin" Paul, and told me he was "the sh*t." I checked him out...and fell in love. I did the responsible thing and checked out ALL the other guys. Needless to say, I didnt find another one i liked.(cept maybe Kucinich, if he would keep his steriotypical overly-liberal gun grabbing tendencies to himself...)
I went through a stage of shock for some time(thank you "American- Freedom to Facism)...becoming more and more depressed as i found the truth.( The truth is pretty scary sometimes. )

WOW! reading this makes me

WOW! reading this makes me wonder... It seems that most of us are 40 to 60! not the college kids that the press made Ron Pauls supporters out to be.. we are business owners and professionals! we are the ones who can think outside the box! I'm 44 , business owner.. I have been brought up with knowledge of economics and the role of gold and silver in a free society from my Grandfather who lived during the great depression as a young teenager. I was taught to prepare for the worst and hope for the best! I was introduced to the conspiracy theory of history at 16.. I know who the players are, and what they do! I love the Constitution! and every dang time when I'm at a Colorado Avalanche game , my eyes tear up as I listen to the national anthem! I voted for Ron Paul in 1988 as a young twenty something and will this year as a middle aged dude! I have 3 children and I drive my wife nuts! I love to come here to the daily Paul to exchange ideas and hopefully learn from others and I hope others learn from me.. Folks THIS IS IT! no matter who occupies the white house next january, this country is in for very hard times! they will make the great depression my grandfather lived threw look like party time! I only hope that we will be able to keep things together enough to reinstate our constitution and start over.. those who do not beleive we are in for a major depression/CHAOS are in denial and ignorant of history! they have not taken the time to read and study economics or social behaviors! time to prepare for yourselves and your family!

My Profile:

I am a 46 year-old father of 4, married and living in the burbs. I am a physician (anesthesiologist) currently working in a 300 bed suburban hospital in Maryland. I also do some supplemental work in a couple of surgical centers. I have been interested in politics for at least 25 years and for the first almost 20 years, I was a registered Republican but changed to Independent in 2003. This was due to my increasingly bitter view of GWB. I only changed back to Republican for the same reason many of us did, to vote for Dr. Paul. I have been a fan of Dr. Paul since the mid 1980's.My educational interests, other than medicine are economics, finance, common and UCC law, investing, real-estate, and various un-conventional subject matter such as UFO's, mytholgy vs. religion, chemtrails, etc. Enough said.

Small business owner

46 years old. I grew up in rural alabama farm country and still live there. On my sixth birthday I got a 5 dollar bill, I believe it might have been my first paper money. I went to the store, bought a candy bar & coke. I brought the goods back home, along with 4 one dollar bills and change. I told my father what a good deal I had gotten. I liked that shiney stuff better. I thought I had more money than I had left with. He explained how I was wrong and taught me also how money circulated. The store owner was selling for a profit. But he couldn't answer my next question. Who spent the first dollar or how does money get put into circulation. I tried for twenty years or so to get an answer to that question but never did so I forgot about it. I thought conservatively so I voted republican from Reagan thru Dole. Sometime in the late nineties I stumble across the book " The Secrets of The Federal Reserve" at a salvage goods store. I thumbed thru for several minutes and all those memories of long forgotten questions came back. I didn't have a computer at the time, didn't know how to turn one on. I finally got a hand me down computer. It took the internet to convince me this book was basically true and therefore voting was a waste of time. I sat out a few elections and then I found Ron Paul. And here I am.

Voted

Clinton, Bush, Bush...was I ever mistaken. Trying to figure out who in the heck I would vote for this year. Discovered Ron Paul and you know the rest.:)

I have been interested in liberty and freedom all my life Ayn Rand etc. Avid upland and big game hunter, just enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy Daily Paul company. Keep up the good work!!

Fortune Favors the Bold

I am kind of a science nerd- Out of curiosity, which interpretation of the Copenhagen experiment do you favor? I'm sort of a Bohmian myself, although I like to speculate about a fusion between the Bohm and the Everett interpretation. If you're interested, i can elaborate.

I think I know what you talking about...

I'm certainly not a nuclear physicist, but if I had to bet I'd say that Bohr, in the end, will be shown to be wrong. The entire Copenhagen topic is bit much for my little brain but I favor the ideas of Carver Meade.

I agree with you about Bohr

Fortune Favors the Bold

I think Bohr was a genius, but like Einstein, drew incomplete interpretation based on available data. David Bohm (not the same person as Neihls Bohr) supports the holonomic universe model, based upon the non-locality properties of entangled quanta (and the mathematical completeness of fourier transforms to unify the discrepancies between quantam mechanics and relativity-very elegant!). I am not familiar with Carver Meade, but I will definetly look into him!

The Holographic Universe

Great book. The possibility, the concept of alternate universes is mind boggling though utterly amazing if ever proven. The show Sliders comes to mind.

Choosing freedom

How nice to hear about yourselves. I'm 58 remodeler, self employed. Father mathmatician took me to John Birch meetings as a teenager. High school and college runner dropped out and learned to paint houses in Southern Calif. Never was much into volunteering frn's to a war machine. So I learned many trades and worked for cash. The day of 911 I started telling anybody that would listen that we would never see Bin Laden. I have been a professional disc golfer and a racing cyclist into my fifties still very competitive with 30 year old racers in Austin Tx. I trust Energetic medicine with my EPFX and natural health. Live in a small town now two hours from Austin. I'm not afraid to use my hearsay name because I've died before and there is nothing to fear. You all have got me more exited than I've been in years. I do think the tide is turning. Some day when I slow down I'll write about my life. My wife says you'd like it. Peace, Larry a_Mann

with undergraduate degrees in international relations and religion, and a graduate degree in international political economy. I was going to go for my phd in international political economy, but became depressed studying the way the world is run. Now, I make small sculptures and jewelry mostly out of sterling silver, and am much happier for it.

I became interested in

I became interested in politics only this past year. When I realized there was a glint of hope for this country.

I have held more types of jobs than I can count. From meat cutting to driving a semi, to autobody, telemarketer, electrician, plumbing wholesale, and many more.

I then spent 16 years working, remodeling and maintaining my mother and stepfather's farm. After they died, I owned that farm, and continued to build and run the greenhouse/nursery that my mother and I started after he died. When she died she left me a large inheritance. Since then, I sold the farm, moved here to Florida, have owned a commercial building and half of a business here, flipped a new home, and lost a couple of considerable chunks of money in the process here in the great state of Florida. I thought it was because of poor investing, and then I realized, it wasn't my choices, it was the crumbling economy that had caused my losses.

No college here. I guess one could say I am self educated because I desire knowledge and therefore I seek it.

Heh, to take an interesting look at irony, I guess, had my mother and stepfather not passed away, I would be one of those Paulies that 'lived in their parents basement.' The only difference is, they respected me enough that I was allowed to live upstairs with them.... ; )

I'm Baffled??!!

I thought all you Paulites were a bunch of clueless pot smoking kids barely able to vote?

Pleasantville, Ron Paul & BE the People

51 year old child of God, wife, mother, grandmother & a friend of anyone real. I never could stand fluff and plastic. Was raised as a military dependant, had a great hands on life experience all over this beautiful world that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Was taught to obey authority without question & we were very loyal to our country. Sir! Yes SIR! How high do I jump Sir! Fortunately there was something IN me that just couldn't continue to play that game. I began to question ALL authority and to expose the false authority figures of which there is pretty much no end of.

Used to think you sent your kids off to school & teachers educated them. Along the way I figured out it was up to me so I homeschooled them and we learned together. I taught them to question authority too.

I saw early on that politics was corrupt and evil. If you honestly look you will see that to even be in the place of getting elected to be president you had to have already sold your soul.

I tried the organized church deal for way too long and saw the same corruption within the very people who screamed holy the loudest. The last straw for me came when people withIN the church voted Dubya into office thinking he was like the 2nd coming answer... I saw thru him and couldn't understand how others didn't see what I saw. Figured out it was up to me to get to know God.

Huge awakening in me was thru the movie "Pleasantville", weird as it sounds, that movie spoke to me and still does on so many levels.
Truth brings color, liberty, freedom and life.

Saw a Ron Paul youtube a few years back & thought he was an honest & fresh breath of air. The words he said were REAL & there was power in that. When I heard he was running for president I jumped in head first. From the beginning I knew this was about the message more than the man.

Walked into my first RP meetup to hear someone (the leader) complaining about headquarters blaaah blaaah.... I looked at him square in the eye and said, excuse me! What happened to "WE the PEOPLE"!
Part of what I adore about Ron Paul is the empowerment of the people.
Dr Paul teaches us to "BE the people"

I love the community of DP, it's like a family in many ways. Being one who seldom fit in anywhere it's great to read posts from people who are so much like me.. and man, there are some bright peeps who have done their research... I've learned so much here. Go Team Ron Paul!

You forgot

SISTER :(

Awww I could never forget about you...

Here's to SISTERS!!! And shouldn't you be plantin your letus hehehe

We are

Kindred Spirits, as Anne of Green Gables would say! I had to laugh about your reference to Pleasantville. I also saw a movie with Jim Carrey called the Truman show where he was the star of a tv reality show and didn't know it----everything was pretend!
I homeschooled my kids when homeschooling wasn't cool--got into some verbal battles with local school districts and won.
I agree with this statement you made: "I tried the organized church deal for way too long and saw the same corruption within the very people who screamed holy the loudest" Some of the worst problems are caused by people like this, and there are some in every church, but for the most part there are good Christian people in churches, but they are the ones who aren't tooting their own horn. They pray in their closet, as the Lord tells us to do.

re-Oticonr & E. Oregon 4 Ron

Yayyyy I'm glad you guys both saw what I was seeing in Pleasantville.

If I'm somewhere "feeling" that boxed in feeling I'll say to my hubby..."wheres my supper" and we both crack up.

I'll have to look for the Truman movie, sounds good. Glad to know I have a kindred spirit out here. I'm beginning to see we are ONE. My kids are married now w/kids of their own and they turned out just fine.

Unity within diversity. And yeah, I agree there are good people in every place, even the churches. *smile**

It's good to take time out & say hi and meet each other.

Group ((( hug ))) to all my fellow R3volutionists

Lol

As I was out in Iraq the AFN channel had Pleasentville on, and I saw the same thing you did. I think I wrote a post about it a number of months ago and didn't get any responces from it. It had alot in that movie that jumps out at you. At least it did for me getting involved with politicsfor the first time. Glad I wasn't the only one who saw the simularities with Pleasentville

54 and still enjoying the journey!

female, artist, do stained glass, was an on-air personality (dj) in St. Louis for 4 years as The Moondancer on KDHX FM 88.1, all volunteer public radio station. Been a bartender, waitress, and now I own my own business doing stained glass for Bass Pro Shops out of Southwest Missouri. Love Sci-Fi, especially Firefly, Serenity movie, Star Trek- all of them, good mystery and drama movies, can't wait for Ironman, and Indiana Jones!

Love nature and FINALLY after struggling for many years, I live in a house under the trees and am doing my glass. I have been following politics awhile now, listened a LOT to Air-America radio until I found it to not fill my needs. I found Coast to Coast radio show and am hooked while I work to listen to it. Me and my 3 cats!

A friend of mine mentioned Ron Paul one day sometime this year, and we both dug in and started investigating and couldn't believe all the stuff we learned. I'm an alternate delegate now, my sister is an actual delegate. ..and this coming weekend we are attending a mock caucus, and the following week we'll be going to another caucus to vote on more delegates, or maybe narrowing down the number of delegates, I'll know more in about a week!

I work, I work hard and am totally upset about the Fed. Reserve system eating up the money we all earn working so hard for. I've thought myself "stupid" for not being smarter about money, until I learned how rigged the system is and has been my entire life! I want Ron Paul in the Oval Office SO MUCH!!! He is just one man, but I am so proud of what he has accomplished in this last political cycle. We need to help him as much as we can, while of course, working our arrrsses off to keep the lights on! Go Ron Paul, and thank goodness for the Daily Paul for us to communicate about it all!

Well...

I'm 49 years old and a grandpa. College educated. Self-employed concrete finisher for 20 years and involved in ranching, as well as commercial fruit and vegetable production. Work in the oil and gas industry now ( blue collar). All three daughters are grown and self- supporting and they voted for Dr. Paul in our primary. I don't know if I did anything right with them, but they did have a good mother. I got interested in politics when I was a kid. My dad was a Goldwater man in '64 and a Wallace man in '68. My mother was a Wallace delegate at the '72 convention in Miami. They exposed me to stuff that got me interested at an early age. I voted the American Party in '76 and other than Reagan in '84 (I don't remember my reasoning on that)have voted Libertarian all along, that includes Dr. Paul in '88. I said George Bush wouldn't make a pimple on a conservative man's ass when he was the governor of my state, and I'll be damned if he hasn't proven me correct ever since.
I'll be looking forward to seeing some of my fellow Pauladelphians at the state convention in Houston. Since we're gonna be in the Doc's backyard in June, I'm wondering if he'll make an appearance.

Good Luck to all.

Nice to get to know more about the "anonymous" people we interact with everyday on Daily Paul...

=)

40-male...and i still remember the days when...

you could build what you wanted, and do what you wanted to on your own property. friends came over to help out. in high school kids had loaded guns in there rear window rack to go hunting after school and it didn't cause a lock down in the school, because the worst thing that happened was maybe students or students and a teach got in a fight. of course those were the days when a teacher had the authority to paddle the kids and hold them accountable.

i remember the days that if i was playing with friends and we damaged a person's property 6 or seven blocks from home, that that owner/neighbor would yell at me and maybe spank me , then send me home. on my way home he would have already called my parents and they would have spanked me also when i got there. then i would have been made to apologize for what i'd done and paid for it to get fixed.

likewise, the only time i stole something was at a Ben Franklin store (dime store). i took a couple of pieces of candy when i was 3 or 4 years old. my mom made me go in and talk to the manager of the store and tell him what i'd done. he put the fear of God in me by telling me that if he ever found me stealing again that he would call the police and have me arrested.

this was back when you knew your neighbors. and you would have done everything possible to get along with them because i is the right thing to do.

this was back when people were taught the value of property rights and that you do not disrespect the owner of the home while you are at or in his household. that the owner's rule are law and you respect them or else.

now i look at the world and find that some of my youthful rebellion has helped to do away with those times, those respectful principles to respect our elders.

i look and see how the leaders in the past 40 years have purposefully eradicated those values, morals and teachings. Eradicating God from the schools, the media, and organizations trying to remove it from homes by calling it abusive to children that parents teach their children fundamental Christianity...which made this country the best in the world.

i have watched as every foundation of this country that made this country great has been demolished in the name of "progress".

well...in my short lifetime...the definition of "progress" changed. for today it stands for destruction of everything that was ever good in our country.

i want it back....but unless the people repent of their wickedness, and God sends revival in this country as was seen in the early 1700's...it can never come back. because the meaning of the words in the constitution cannot be understood by people who reject the true creator....Jesus Christ. For those who reject God's Word are promised a "strong delusion to believe a lie"...to their own damnation. so they are blinded to the truth of the principle laid out from the founding fathers in the constitution.

i leave off with a question that God Himself asked...consider it...and repent....

Ezekiel 33:1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Eze 33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
Eze 33:3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
Eze 33:4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
Eze 33:5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
Eze 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
Eze 33:7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
Eze 33:8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Eze 33:9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
