Anybody seen this?
Absolut vodka has a new ad for Mexican consumers. It is appearing in the current (2008) issue of Quién magazine showing the US drastically 'resized' and Mexico reclaiming those lands.
California, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico and portions of Idaho are appearing to be under MX ownership in the ad.
Here's a copy of the ad. Scroll down a little to view...
Here is a website with an "apology" to the citizens of the U.S., along with 156 pages (and growing) of posts advocating boycotting Absolut Vodka...

Can we just give California
Can we just give California back to Mexico and keep the rest?
A win-win for both countries!

This has been posted here
This has been posted here several times ... well, maybe not that apology thing, but the ad.
Yeah, I figured...
Somebody had already posted it. I was just impressed with the sheer number of people who say they will never buy Absolut ever again.
I think somebody in the marketing dept. messed up on this one.
Whoever was responsible for
Whoever was responsible for that ad should be fired immediately and without question! I mean, what the HELL could they possibly have been thinking? Why not make a label showing the Confederate States of America for marketing in the South, or one showing The Nazi Empire for marketing in Germany? What a fool, or fools!
Yeah...
Looks like they'll be losing about 1/2 of their customer base on this one. 48% of their customers are in the U.S.
Most people are talking about boycotting... but some are talking about taking copies of the ad to their local tavern to make sure everyone knows what they're up to. To get everyone to boycott.
