Subject: Withdraw from race
To: pingish

Dear pingish,

After a lot of careful thought over the last week involving myself, my staff, and some key donors, I have decided that I will not pursue running for U.S. Congress this year. Early on, based on our polling data, it appeared that there was an opportunity for victory, but that it would require a large amount of resources to get my name, background, and message out to the people of New Hampshire as quickly as possible to make up for the head start my two opponents had. But I don't believe we have the resources in place at this time to come up to speed quickly enough. I believe it would be irresponsible for me to spend my donors' money on the race as it stands now.

Although I am withdrawing from this race, I have a lot of optimism for the future of the liberty movement based on my experience. My candidacy was well received by many. Although many people were committed already to one or the other of my opponents, they expressed great interest in having me run at another time or for another office. Although I am withdrawing from this race, I am fully committed to continue to fight for liberty now, and in the future.

This campaign raised slightly over $100,000 in the first quarter. Around $35,000 of this was spent on polling data, slim jims, consulting, etc. Although some money has been spent, I want to offer everyone the opportunity to get their donations returned, since the donations were specifically for a Congressional run. However, if you choose not to take your donation back, I will make sure it will be put to good use. The money could be used to fund Republican liberty-oriented candidates in New Hampshire. This would get some great candidates in on the ground floor to set themselves up for future federal races, as well as provide an increased level of freedom in New Hampshire. I am also strongly considering a run for a local office myself, so a portion of the money could be used to fund my race, helping to set me up next election cycle for a run for a higher office.

If you would like a refund of your contribution, please let us know by Apr 30th - just send an e-mail to refund@jimforsythe.com.

I greatly appreciate the confidence you placed in my by making your original contribution, and please know that I will continue to fight for liberty. If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to contact me.

Jim

well who knows, maybe they

well who knows, maybe they scared him.

Forsythe pulls out

this saddens me. poop.

but i'm sure jf knows what he's talking about. i hope it wasn't money that was the problem. that'd make me feel guilty for not donating to him.

I thought you were doing

I thought you were doing well?

Hmm.

Yeah, well so was RP up until the primaries started happening

Hell, people in NH voted for McCain because they thought he was against the war. If they got that wrong, then Mr. Forsythe probably had no chance!!!!

you

You can donate that to other candidates that support the constitution can't you??

I pick and choose

Jim Forsythe was a fellow Cornell alum, so I like contributing to him.

Ted Terbolizard is another great one a Congressional district away.

The more the better. Yes.

:-(

One less. That's too bad ...

I hope he runs in 2010

He is a solid candidate.

Is it too much to ask for

New Hampshire to vote for a Ron Paul Republican? C'mon... Forsythe was a shoo-in.
