Dr. Paul Top Fossil Fool ?

Ron Paul Is A Top Fossil Fool In the U.S. House
Posted by Congress Watcher on April 2, 2008 at 2:14 pm · Filed under All Articles, House campaigns

Goodness me, but after all the highfalutin’ talk about being independent and purging the American political system of its corruption, I would have expected better of Ron Paul. Silly me. I should have known better.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul is one of the top two Fossil Fools in the United States House of Representatives.

How did Ron Paul earn this distinction? It all comes down to Ron Paul’s dirty money. Of all the members of the U.S. House of Representatives, Ron Paul has taken an extremely high amount of money during the 2008 election cycle from big oil and gas corporations. He has taken $92,742 from big oil this election cycle.

You might be tempted to think that Ron Paul just got all this crude oil cash because he ran for President. You need to remember, however, that Ron Paul was not the only member of the U.S. House of Representatives to run for President this year. Dennis Kucinich did too, and so did Duncan Hunter. Duncan Hunter is a Republican, like Ron Paul, but he isn’t even in the top 20 recipients of big oil money

Duncan Hunter got only $1,800 for his presidential campaign from oil companies, and he’s not running for re-election to Congress. Wouldn’t you know it? Oil company executives didn’t bother giving money to Ron Paul’s presidential campaign either, because it was clear from the start that Ron Paul would not win the Republican nomination. The oil corporations have given to Ron Paul’s congressional re-election, because they knew he will likely win re-election there, and so that’s the race they can show influence over.

Why would big oil corporations want to help Ron Paul go back to Congress? That answer is an easy one. Ron Paul is a strong opponent of government regulations to restrict the air pollution that comes from burning petroleum products. Ron Paul doesn’t even believe in global warming, and thinks that there isn’t a single thing in his life that he does that damages the environment. In fact, Ron Paul wants to help big oil corporations completely evade government efforts at environmental protection, allowing them to do whatever they want, with no laws to stop them, and the vehicles that use their fossil fuel products, from fouling the environment.

Ron Paul is an oil corporation executive’s dream candidate. He’s the real deal - a genuine Fossil Fool.

Well, that is one site that

Well, that is one site that slants what it reports. Probably donations from small well-drilling companies that want to get into alternative fuels without all the unconstitutional regulations the government imposes. RP does not accept money from lobbyists for anything. See how many others do THAT.

Ron Paul would also allow

Ron Paul would also allow drilling in Alaska. Could that be the reason they gave to him? Better to drill here than in the middle of the ocean or to depend on foreign nations. IMO.

Do you even have a link for this story?

More numbers

Or the author might have mentioned that Rudolph W. Giuliani received $660,458 from oil and gas interests, Romney $455,863, McCain $404,136, Hillary $309,363, Obama $222,309, Richardson $206,125, F. Thompson $161,904

Seven other candidates received far more than Ron Paul from oil and gas interests and Huckabee recived only a thousand dollars less.

Excellent comparison...

It blows my mind how biased the written word can be when key facts and figures are left out. Like telling half the truth. Ron Paul's anti-regulation stance has everything to do with Constitutional law not special interest pandering. And since global warming is a JOKE - I find the writer's article just as big a joke.

I wonder what special interest group the writer is appeasing?

Huh?

Ron Paul........ big oil's man?

What have you been smokin'?

Please go somewhere else and spread your manure there...( cough cough )

I heard...

I heard he was a looney, nutcase, racist conspiracy theorist with an outdated concept of world events.

I mean it's obvious he's just trying to get elected. I mean what politician would vote consistently for the American people? For 20 years?

All that stuff about not taking money from special interest groups and lobbyists... Who does he think he is? That's not very presidential.

I want McCain. He's got all kinds of lobby money in his pocket... now there's a politician.

Or how about Hillary. She and Bill stole a bunch of stuff out of the White House on their way out. Once again... that's how a model politician should act!

Or Obama? His wife is a CFR member, but he acts like he's never heard of the North American Union. And when asked about the CFR, he conveniently left out the fact that his wife is on the board of directors of the Chicago branch of the CFR. He said, "I've spoken there before, but I don't have a card in my pocket, I don't know the secret handshake or anything." Making a joke about it. Now he lies like a real politician should.

OMFG!!! $92,000!!! How could

OMFG!!! $92,000!!! How could he POSSIBLY lose the election with this kind of heavy backing from Big Oil??? Had I only known about this, I would have been supporting John McCain instead! Or maybe Hillary! Let's see....he is a racist....he is a kook....he is whacky....and now Bit Oil supports him. What next? He causes global warming? Give me a break, troll. Even if this figure were true, which i see no source indicating that, since Dr. Paul received absolutely ZERO dollars from corporations, this is not exactly heavy backing.

McCain Camp Must Be A Bit On Edge

This is not the first anti-Paul post without any substantial supporting evidence and I believe the McCain camp is actually afraid of Ron Paul and his supporters. If any of these claims were true, the mainstream media would have latched onto this like a newborn on her mommy's teet.

This is all a great sign that perhaps our movement is gaining steam and the upcoming convention, along with RP delegates that are using the system as it was designed, are in a position to subvert war mongering, stealing the wallets of America McCain.

Keep on keeping on.

Ok, the question is raised

92,000 dollars is peanuts in a campaign. I agree with Dr. Paul the environment scaremongers is a multibillion-dollar industry who would love to take Dr. Paul down. Government efforts in environmental protection is a joke,
it's like Katrina government help. hahahaha Dr. Paul's solution is better let people sue the oil companies for pollution if it is proven that will make them change their ways faster. I would like it if Dr. Paul could comment on this smear. We must be getting to them they cranked up the BS machine.

Garbage.

The writer has no sources cited to corroborate the claims they make. I left this...

You don’t cite sources for your claims about Congressman Paul, nor do you back up your claim that he’s “..an oil corporation executive’s dream candidate” with any data from his congressional voting record to indicate that would be the case.

So, how about it? Cite your souce(s) with indepently verifiable links that speak to both the finance issue and to how Congressman Paul is friendly to big oil as you imply.

Go away troll

Obviously then you are a brainwashed idiot. Paul is not for Big Oil in fact they have numerous times put up candidates against him. You are just another socialist Globalist fearmonger who needs to stop getting your science from the Communist Society of Scientists that work for the UN.
