House Passes Resolution on Chinese Crackdown on Tibet 413-1. Guess who the "1" was??

You guessed it .. Ron Paul

http://www.cnn.com/2008/P...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a resolution Wednesday calling on China to end its crackdown on Tibet and release Tibetans imprisoned for "nonviolent" demonstrations. The vote was 413-1. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who recently dropped out of the presidential race, was the lone congressman voting against it.

BTW - I just noticed the INCORRECT reporting by CNN when I cut and pasted that little blurb. Dropped out? I think not!

Never

Ron Paul Never Dropped out of Race. Get facts right

431 - 1

if it werent for Ron Paul there would have been a unanimous disregard for the Constitution. That really scares me.

Sad, isn't it, Jinc? :-(

He practices what he preaches. What more can you ask of a politician?

I'll just bet he's cheering on the peoples protest around the world, as it should be.

I agree, cyndezu. It takes

I agree, cyndezu. It takes a man of great courage and principle to be able to vote in such a fashion, especially considering the flack you know he must get from people who do not understand his position.

I often think of his vote against awarding the Medal of Honor (?) to Rosa Parks. On its face, people could be surprised -- "Why would he do such a thing?" What they DON'T know, because they don't take the time to investigate these things for themselves -- was that he voted NO simply because it was not authorized in the Constitution for him to spend the taxpayers' money in such a fashion. He even attempted to take up a collection for the medal from his fellow Congressmen. Anyone contribute? Yeah, right ....

At the risk of sounding dumb...

Why would our good Dr. vote against this resolution? It seems to me to be a human rights issue that our government is speaking out against. Shouldn't we voice our opinion as a nation about these types of human rights abuses?

Just wondering.

Let's Reign! (Rev. 5:10)

we have massive problems in

we have massive problems in our back yard that these morons created and can't fix.. why should they tell someone else what to do!

as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

I do not send my tax money

I do not send my tax money to Washington to pay these people in Congress to work on issues unrelated to the United States. They waste our time, money and resources trying to be big brother to the world. Congress has no authority to be doing such things when there is important U.S. business for them to be attending to.

Taxation without representation

Your federal income tax pays the interest on the national debt and nothing else.

None of our business

Why did other nations votes against joining us in invading Iraq? Because Iraq did nothing to other nations including the United States. We have to stop policing the world and telling other nations to be the way we say they should be. We are NOT the only superpower in the world but we are the only "SuperBully". Our forefathers told us not to intervene in the business of other nations nor to do nation building. Dr Paul's strong Constitutional views are the same as our forefathers....it is none of your business what others do unless it hurts you personally. This goes for every other country including within our own and by not listening to this simple point is why we are in financial distress and hated all over the world.

The one "nay" vote that Dr Paul made about China has more power then all of the bully "yes" votes and it makes me respect him even more. Dr Paul is truly a patriot and I know that I will never see another presidential candidate in my lifetime like him. Such a loss of opportunity for all Americans to finally have the America that our forefathers fought and died for.

Well..

What exactly are the "human rights" law(s), left to the polititans there probably laced with corruption. Anyone really know what they are?

I betcha your rights (some of 'em, ones you never knew that you had prior to these "human right laws", you may be too young) were dissolved partially because of 'em!

Whenever there given to one group there being taken from another!

In short

In short he takes his oath to the Constitution seriously and it doesn't give Congress the right to pass resolutions about the actions of other governments. Is he against the human rights violations of China, yes, but he is the one man who will abide by the oath he took to uphold the Constitution of the United States and while that is his personal opinion he does not have the authority to pass meaningless resolutions in Congress stating that.

it's not very smart telling

it's not very smart telling your banker what to do, or to send orders to other countries. He probably feels the process will resolve itself...

What's next? We go to war with China to make them do what we want them to?

The U.S. has enough problems

The U.S. has enough problems of our own to focus on. If the people of Tibet desire freedom from China then they themselves must earn it.

They are DEFINITELY our

They are DEFINITELY our banker, too. They were saying that after Japan, China holds the largest amount of our country's debt.

RP doesn't

believe that we should be involved in other country's issues. He believes that unless we are willing to go to war (legal war) in order to stop it we shouldn't get involved at all. I don't see anyone advocating going to war with China, so these resolutions are just a waste of time and money

Yeah, war with China would

Yeah, war with China would go something like this: Congress declares war, China stops funding the U.S., U.S. has no money to pay for anything, war over.

What human rights? How about

What human rights? How about the innocent people killed
by the mobs? How about the business destroyed by the mobs?
Those guys will be killed on spot if the riot happened here.
Do not buy those propaganda shit!

Tibet?

In God We Trust!!
What about all the rights that we are losing daily?
What about all the lives that have been completely ruined by the IRS thugs against innocent citizens?
What about our constitution being mugged by these putrid SOBs who are crying "foul" to China?
We need to clean house and put these, these, these..... @(&%*##)% low life criminals in the big house!
Their seemingly bright and sunny days are going to end soon, just watch!

Exactly!

We need to concentrate on fixing our OWN damned problems first - WAY before even beginning to worry about everyone else's....

As the Ron Paul Says:

Razorwind Studios is an official endorser of Ron Paul, and we will live free or die! 14th alternate to MN state!
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Where in the Constitution does it say that we should police the world?"

I also noticed that sideswipe about him dropping out of the race. LOL they are so worried now that we are grabbing actual national delegates. They are targeting the GP... they know that they can't get his delegates to convert... it seems like a waste of time for them at this point.

I thought FOX is the worst.

I thought FOX is the worst. Now it looks like it is still no match for CNN.

Your guess is as good as

Your guess is as good as mine, but I would suspect it has to do with Ron Paul's unwillingness to get involved in the matters of other countries. He's said it about the Middle East, Darfur, etc. As a government, we should not get involved in the business of other sovereign nations. If as private citizens, we wish to (by way of aid, volunteerism, etc.) cool. That would be my guess.

His point...

...is that is is not the place of Congress to take such actions.

That is RIGHT. Our President

That is RIGHT. Our President can publicly condemn these policies, can visit the country and talk to them, but we pay our congress to watch what is going on HERE. Like the Enumerative Powers Act, and such...

don't they have a lot of

don't they have a lot of other important things they could be doing? like reading the real ID Act and Patriot Act thoroughly before they sign it? yeah they need to be about their country's business.

Much more important things!!

For example, on C-Span right now (I was watching the Patreaus hearing) they interrupted that to bring us coverage of a House vote on naming post offices.

clearly the people

are taking much more substantive action, by protesting the torch. This is as it should be.

There are much more ppl

There are much more ppl coming out to show support rather than to protest.
The MSM is distorting the facts. Ask your friends on the streets in SF and
you will know the truth.

What facts are being distorted??

We're talking about a House vote - not the torch run.

Anchor: ...A lot people

Anchor: ...A lot people are
protesting the human right in China ... etc, however, some are there to
celebrate...
Reporter: As a matter of fact, most of the people are here to support
china and to celebrate. there are a lot of Chinese in sf, they come here to
show their support.
Later the anchor lied to say that "they are actually protesters". LOL
That is too obvious. Bitch.

I hope that comment was
