Good Job Ron Paul People! Keep Doing this!!!

If we all can keep doing this in the remaining states....this would be amazing!!!!

McCain is also being challenged by a newly resurgent Libertarian movement. Largely unnoticed, Ron Paul die-hards in recent weeks all but took over Republican state conventions in Washington state and Minnesota, electing many of their people as delegates, guaranteeing a noisy Libertarian presence at the Republican national convention.

More threatening to McCain is the apparent decision of former Congressman Bob Barr of Georgia, a highly credible right wing spokesman, to run for president as the Libertarian Party candidate. Ron Paul won from 5 to 10 percent of the vote in many GOP primaries. A Barr candidacy, based on the same message and driven by many of those energized by Paul, could do serious damage to McCain.

Libertarian presence

Did I miss a meeting or something. I'm not a libertarian. Does this mean I'm not going to get to go. Is that really how all you libertarians think this is going to work. Don't rear your heads to fast mister. I thought we were all Americans here no party lines. Thought we were a bunch of liberty loving patriots. I'm noticing you libertarians are going to have a hard time casting off your little labels arnt you. Are we going to pick up the party labels again. You guys think we are taking over the Republican party for you and your boys. Sorry you will have no greater say in this than anyone else so put you power hungry tongues back in your mouth. Your true colors are starting to show.

I could not have said this

I could not have said this better myself. If I ever change parties FROM Republican, it would be to the Constitution party or one that is not around yet. A libertarian, I am not.

RIGHT-FLANK

The GOP is like an abandoned building that needs demolished and rebuilt. It is currently being slowly rebuilt with RP delgates and RP Republican running for office. But it also needs some explosives to blow up McCain and other neo-conservatives (figuratively speaking of course). The best way to do that is boost the LP with money bombs so they can take votes away from McCain.

RP, Bob Barr Vs. The Republicans and the Libertarians

All the current stirrings are an excellent recipe to break the log jam the Democrats, Republicans, Military Complex and major US and International corporations have created to either enslave us, control us or save us from ourselves. Any way you slice it. It ain't good.

So us disrupting in any small way the local Republican groups is a winner. In the end the electorial college system (which is a good thing and was included in our founding documents for a reason), can really only support two parties. So truly our whole goal should be to undermine the Republicans back to their roots and simultaneously support and develop the Libertarian Party (which is nothing more than the original Republican party was when it was new).

We (we the people) need that super strong third competitor. Do you think McDonald's and Burger King would really be doing $1 value meals if that upstart 'third' burger chain Wendys' hadn't start offering it as a way to lure their customers away? Sadly, the two old parties have merged into one, in cahoots with corporate america and their lobbists. They like to masquerade as being different, so it makes sense to call them the Demopublicans and the Republicrats.

Our success at regaining control requires us to use all peaceful means possible. This means the goal of forcing the existing Republican party such as it is, back to its libertarian roots. While simultaneously helping to grow and further emerge the Libertarian Party. With this strong third alternative, either the Republicans right themselves or the Libertarian Party prevails. In either event we win! Look what happened in New Zealand, which was once one of the most socialized nations on the planet.

Freedom has a lot more faces than we are accustom to in our current bland regulated and taxed world. So don't ever attack, belittle or feel jealous of a fellow freedom seeker. We need everyone we can get. The competition has built quite a high wall to scale.

It is just important to educate yourself on the rule book, the Constitution and its key interpretations. There are great books on the topic. Net search for libertarian bookstores. Then help in getting the ballot opened up to third parties in your state. This is the first roadblock that stops all attempts at interfering with the Demopublicans and the Republicrats. It doesn't matter if you are with the Libertarian Party, the Green Party or an Independent, they mean to keep you off the ballot. Check out 'Ballot Access News' to see nationwide what the states are doing to keep us at bay.

And lastly, join the Libertarian Party. It's free and you can be a member of the Republican Party or the Democratic Party and still be a member of the Libertarian Party as well. But, by you being a member, will allow them to show increased membership and that coupled with ballot access in all 50 states....bingo media coverage, access to debates from the local level all the way up to the presidency level. America gets to hear the message this time. Not what happened to Dr. Ron Paul. Was he not treated with derision? How demeaning and yet the media got away with it. Oh yeah, I forgot they are the Demopublicans and the Republicarats on my TV. I say we have to work for freedom in our lifetimes, for if we don't succeed by then it will be lost forever at the rate its going now. Yours in Liberty.

This strategy will build the environment for us that want NOTHING MORE than to have freedom to live our lives in peace to win. What could be sweeter than that?

Libertarian Party, NOT!!!

I'm a RonPaulican!!!

Gahhh!!! Pet peeve time!!!

Dr. Paul is a REPUBLICAN, not a Libertarian.

You can be a Libertarian and support Ron Paul. But PLEASE stop perpetuating the notion that the Libertarians are somehow 'taking over' the Republican party. If you believe in the Republican party principals and join the Republican party, you're a REPUBLICAN, not a Libertarian.

The psychological effect of this article is that it establishes that the Republican party is in effect being taken over by a group hostile to it's principals, the Libertarians. A lot of Americans associate Libertarians with complete deregulation of everything from drugs to prostitution. How do you think a conservative is going to react to that? With open arms maybe? Probably not.

So...in light of that...still think the article is positive overall? Or do you think it's a warning to all conservatives to be on the lookout for the Libertarians?

lets just drop the labels and fight on.

E Pluribus Unum...

If Republicans had been true

If Republicans had been true to their roots, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now. If anything, the infusion of Libertarian blood is a good thing.

Things are only impossible until they are not.
-- Jean Luc Picard

I respectfully ask you to reconsider what I said.

Put aside your beliefs about what a Libertarian believes in for a moment and accept the current public misconception that I stated. Then ask yourself...what would make a conservative Republican welcome the 'new Libertarian blood' to their party, given their general beliefs about Libertarians? And furthermore...not every Republican in the Republican party is a pretender...there are some genuine conservative Republicans left. If they feel threatened by an alleged Libertarian insurgency, they'll vote to preserve what they think represents them, even if it's a lie.

Are you a Libertarian?
From the LP website http://www.lp.org/issues/...
"Simply put, if you believe that you are responsible for yourself and your family, and not the government, then you belong with us."

It's pretty broad, and pretty vague.

Or are you a Republican?
from the VT GOP website http://www.vtgop.org/Abou...
I Am A Republican Because...
I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.
I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.
I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that the best government is that which governs least.
I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.
I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

I have to say I'm a Republican.

So Republicans Unite Behind Doctor Paul

Or loose to the Democrats!

Nice.

Pretty Much the Plan

The LP will do its best to offer an alternative.
Note that some of the Libertarian candidates have said they'd endorse Ron Paul if he gets the nomination, but meanwhile the LP nominating convention is at the end of May. The GOP convention is months later.

It will also be interesting to see what happens when the D's have made their choice and disappointed half their number. Libertarians can pull from them, too. It's too bad we don't know, yet, whether to pull left or pull right.
