RP's new book could be a turning point! We need to make it come in at #1.
Are you hearing all of the talk now about the Federal Researve, people are waking up!
If his book debuts at #1 it could get a lot of media coverage.

#1 would be huge
I understand the commenter's point that reaching #1 isn't an end in itself, but when a book hits #1 it INEVITABLY gets major media attention. Also, it shows up WHEREVER books are sold, even in the grocery store, which often features only the top five or ten new hardcover titles. If it hits #1 it will attract a certain curiosity, since Americans like to read what they think their fellow Americans are reading. So the #1 spot would produce an important kind of synergy.
How about after we all get his
book we read it and have a book club discussion group here on the DP.
It might help me to truly understand his book I am going to order a couple.

The New York Times best seller list, selects it's nominations from books that are doing well in Barnes and Noble, Walden, and other brick and morter booksellers. Amazon Sales don't really count. (Although Amazon ranks are good too.)

The reason we should promote the book is to get it out there in the hands of readers who may be swayed to the revolution. If they're a teacher, it might change the way they teach. If they're involved politically, it may change the way they advocate. If they're famous, it may change the way they use their fame.
And, of course, if they're a voter, it may change the way they vote.
Getting to #1 won't, by itself, do much. It won't be a turning point. Not enough people pay any attention to best seller lists. It's the content of the book that counts, and that will take time to percolate.
There's no way around it: walk precincts, and become a delegate. That's what works.

The Ron Paul Book Brigade
I couldn't agree with y'all more. I've been pushing this idea as much as I can...I wrote this e-letter that I hope you spread to others. This book is key right now to spreading Dr. Paul's message! Here's my letter that I wrote last week:
This is a call to action. Dr. Ron Paul’s new book entitled “The Revolution: A Manifesto” is scheduled to be released on April 30th, 2008. Although this book is already being promoted to some extent, I believe that now is the time for the freedom movement to focus a majority of attention on pushing this book to the top of the bestseller’s list. We can continue our other efforts to further the Ron Paul phenomenon, but a concerted attempt to break sales records could maximize our ability to influence public discourse with his message of liberty. I have a strong sense that this could substantially increase the range of these principles and place them in view of a much wider audience. This plan of getting Ron Paul’s message out by fully advertising his upcoming book release is attainable when considering the number of people who have joined the movement. We, the people, can make this happen. We’ve already demonstrated the ability to raise millions of dollars in one day…more than once. We just need to utilize our coordination abilities, by spreading the word through all means available to us. I’m sure this is not a very original idea, but if I could add one thing to this effort, I’d like to have the privilege of naming it. I’m hoping by giving it a name, it will be like a snowflake that starts an avalanche of truth. The name I came up with doesn’t seem quite that original either, but I feel that it has just the marketing hook we need. Our push to top the bestseller’s list should be called “The Ron Paul Book Brigade.” I implore you to consider this plan, and please, take this idea and run with it. We’ve got less than a month to go!
