IRS suffers significant loss in Court case...

Evidently an entrepreneur, business owner paid his employees in gold and silver coins. For IRS purposes only the face value of the coins counted so no employee made enough to have to owe an income tax!

Imagine the surprise on the part of IRS attorneys when the jury upheld the defendants.

Now if I can just persuade my employer to pay us in gold and silver coins!

By the way, the main stream media has not reported this and one suspects the Fourth Estate is in cahoots with the Administration which is contrary to the checks and balances system.

The power of the jury is one of the most important

messages of our freedom movement. I believe all jurors should be given a 'miranda' reading before a trial begins, including a copy of the 'citizen's rule book.' Power to We the People!

Here's the thread from a couple weeks back

http://www.dailypaul.com/...
There are some great comments on this topic on this thread. Especially look up my post with the link to a Restore the Republic article. MUST READ THAT ARTICLE!! It's more recent information and includes a letter opinion from the IRS -- it's great news.

A friend of mine brought up a good point.

It's surprising the government isn't suing for breech of the minimum wage laws.

Could it be because a lot of

Could it be because a lot of these people who did work for him were sub-contractors and NOT employees?

If you are going to set up

If you are going to set up to pay your employees in gold and silver coins, I would think you should do it right away. Since I am sure the government or the IRS will pass some law stating you must report wages paid in gold and silver coins in market value not face value. If you do this now, you might not be in violation until the new unlawful law takes place. I am NOT an attorney but you might want to ask one before proceeding.

Also, I have a feeling that Robert Kahre was well educated and wealthy. Two things that he had going for him.

My suggestion from yesterday was to start paying for services in silver coins. Ask your stylist, nail tech, dentist, etc...if they would like to be paid in silver or gold. That alone will ease up on the dollars out there. Think about it.

I would be delighted to be paid in silver dollars over FRN's. I am self employed in a service business and NO employees.

IRS and gold coins

As much as I applaud the jury in these cases dismissing the defendants, I would be loathe to recommend that anyone else try the same thing. Using and being paid US gold and silver coins at their nominal face value could not help but raise a gigantic red flag with the IRS, and bring an audit down upon one's head, at the very least. And even if one were to win such a case, again, would it be worth the misery and expense? Plus, after this case, I suspect that a ruling will soon be made (if it has not been already) to close this tax loophole.

I'm all for doing everything one can to avoid paying extra taxes to the Infernal Revenue Service, but trying this same kind of stunt will only be inviting trouble, in my opinion. Now, if multiple people continue to do it, and get away with it, then that would be another story.

It's ashame to think...

that those of us working for $30,000 a year or so are actually only making somewhere around $20,000 (would that be right?) or less in real money (when base it on silver)...for an entire year..then taxes....when there are people floating in money out there - making millions. My salary is a Christmas bonus for most people, especially when you look at the "real" salary based on face value of silver.

Maybe I missed your math but

At $30,000 at today's ask price of $18.33 per ounce will get you 1636.66 ounces which is roughly (depending on the denomination chosen) equal to $2116.19 in old silver dollars. (1913 standard) A far cry form $20,000.

But Silver is really cheap right now compared to the devalued paper FRN. (currently about 1/50 of a 1913 dollar) This would put the 1913 equivalent at $600 silver dollars. And this gives you a price of $64.50 per ounce of silver if silver were exactly keeping pace with inflation. Gold is doing a little better, but both metals are on the cheap side right now.

trying to delete this again....

guess I'll just have to retype above.

It shouldn't be too hard to

convince small shop owners to accept gold and or silver coin. If they do, they only need report the face value as revenue. They could then legitimately take a loss on the period and not pay any corporate taxes either. They can also show lower sales and thus remit less sales taxes. Any taxes they do have to pay, they can pay with depreciating FRN's instead of the silver. Of course they shouldn't try to deposit that stuff in a bank, as they will only get credit for face value. They can use it to either meet payroll, or pay their suppliers who agree to take it as well, and to keep some to use in change at the register.

It wouldn't be hard to publish exchange rates daily at the counter. Other countries do it quite easily. There is also the option to stick to the 30,100, or 200 day moving average on spot silver or gold to keep things stablized. Eventually, they could just price things in old silver/gold dollars or in silver/gold ounces and post the exchange rate in FRN's. Kind of like if you went to Mexico and saw prices in Pesos but had only FRN's to pay with. (and yes, I have bought things in Mexico with U.S. silver before and they loved it)

As for supply, the Secretary of the Treasury is under the order to mint as many Gold and Silver coins currently authorized to meet demand. If we want real money in circulation, we need to increase demand for it. Most likely, coin shops would supplant banks as exchange houses in the short term and other institutions would take hold to fill the void. Note** only federally connected banks, not state chartered banks which have refused Federal Reserve membership, are prohibited from paying out gold and silver coin. A bank could be chartered in a state and refuse FED membership and operate constitutionally with gold and silver if they desired. As the 'real money' economy grew and crowded out the paper fiat economy, banks would want to get in on it or at least not lose deposits.

Could you imagine demanding to be paid at a bank in actual dollars when presenting a check or loan?? (I'd just love to see the look on their faces)

This is how we will restore the Republic. Heck, it's how they saved it the first time when the "continental" just about destroyed this country in the 1780's.

We can wait for a state to implement the plan outlined in another thread, or we can just start doing this on our own. The law supports us and there is nothing the FED or the IRS can do about it. And as long as we are circulating the money, the President can't claim we are 'hoarders' and confiscate it.

I sent a link to the

Drudge report. lets see if they pick it up. Might be good for april 15 tax story.

Here's another good article

Here's another good article about this: http://www.lvrj.com/news/...

"Once the criminal cases are over, Kahre will pursue related civil actions he has filed against several parties, including federal prosecutor Damm, Internal Revenue Service agents and North Las Vegas police officers who had roles in the raid or indictment process."

Can we all start paying

Can we all start paying everyone in silver? That way we wouldn't be using dollars but use silver as a medium of exchange. Of course the stores wouldn't go for it. But how about people in services. Like someone posted here about paying the the lawn boy in silver. Well, how about your hairstylist, or people like me an esthetician or nail tech, massage therapists. How about your dentist?

Any thoughts???

I've read about some gas

I've read about some gas station recently where the owner is willing to sell a gallon of gas for a single pre 1964 quarter. So, some stores at least are beginning to go for it.

Love it.

Lisa C.,
Thank you Lisa. I just came from your site www.women4ronpaul.com which is a wonderful idea.

I am pro choice which is the position of about 67% of the population. It is the only thing about Ron Paul which troubles me. I know Ron Paul says that it is not a Federal issue but he does want to do away with Roe v Wade and have each state deal with the issue!

I disagree with him. EIther a woman has a right to seek out and have an abortion or she doesn't. I know abortion is not mentioned explicitly in the bill of rights but i see it implied in the Fourth and Ninth Amendments at least. It is a private matter between her and her doctor and no one elses business.

There is no such thing as the rights of the unborn. A potential human being does not have the rights of an actual human being. Most abortions are performed early in pregnancy during the embryonic or fetal stage. On the exceedingly rare occasion when a woman's life is endanger near full term the pregnant woman retains the right to her own life and the decision to abort then is still hers.

I fear that Ron Paul is not open to reason on this issue although he appears to be a man of reason on everything else except evolution itself. He still has my vote and support.

I hope many women find your website and discover the value of Ron Paul.

We can all say what needs to be done, but who here led by example today?

Thanks for this article. I

Thanks for this article. I know there was a thread a couple of weeks ago where a couple of posters brought up this very idea ... if your employer is willing, why not??
