Ecuador wants military base in Miami

http://uk.reuters.com/art...

In a web search of Rafael Correa, the president of Ecuador, I found this article. It is hilarious. I am sure he would support Ron Paul. Did anyone else know about this? My husband and I are very interested in moving to Ecuador and this makes me even more interested.

Sounds like a reasonable

Sounds like a reasonable exchange to me. Fair is fair. A dimwit, LOL.

Viva Correa!

Following the lead of the United States' precedent, Ecuador should simply invade Southern Florida to liberate it from the Bu'ushist Regime.

A little Shock and Awe goes a long way.

Turn about's fair play

wouldn't you say? If they did that we could all move to Ecuador just by moving to Miami!

Miami is such a great city

and it's so close to the USA!

Now

that's funny!

I saw this awhile

ago. It is classic. Maybe the rest of the world will follow so we can get our troops back home. I would love to move to Ecuador but the elevations are too high for me.

The elevations are high

but you do get used to them. It doesn't take long for your lungs to adapt. Ecuador is very friendly to Americans moving there. The president received his Ph.D. in Economics in the United States. He is fluent in three languages and is pretty familiar with Quichua, the language of the indigenous people there. How many presidents can you say have those qualifications?

I spent 3 months

in Colorado Springs this past summer and had quite a few issues with the altitude. I never really adjusted

Ecuador

I spent time in both Quito and Cuenca in the 1990's, and found the climate in both places to be wonderful and invigorating. Never really noticed the altitude in Quito (although I REALLY did while backpacking elsewhere in the country at 15,000 feet!).

That's Neat!

We are looking at property by Ibarra. The climate is supposed to be very good and pretty much the same year round. Do you think we should start a Paulville there? The soil is rich and there is plenty of water.

Working in Ecuador?

Might be at least as good a place as anywhere, although I keep hearing repeatedly about the advantages of Costa Rica ---- aside from the obvious BIG disadvantage that foreigners (i.e., we Americans) living there are NOT allowed to work there! Which is fine if one is retired; I am not.

I don't know how the laws in Ecuador deal with the same situation.
