I hate my mother today

Its true i do, she looked at the RON PAUL sign in the back window of my work van and said who the hell is he? I have spoken of RON PAUL on many different occasions at her home in depth with some other guests, and yes she was present and particapated in the conversations. When i told her he is the next president she laughed and said proudly " im voting for hillary" my simple response was give me one reason why and she replied " its time we get a woman in the whitehouse to fix the country" . I started to explain why she was a moron and i stopped cold.I came to realize that she is the reason our country is doomed, well not her alone but the millions like her.I stood in disbellief , Then got into my truck and cursed the gods for allowing this woman to give birth to me. She is broken and cant be fixed she has not the desire nor capacity to be awakened. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem with their parents. I have one more shot at this I ordered her a copy of the REVOLUTION tonight. pray for her soul and my sanity

and understand all the people who watch TV to get news don't ever get the actual news.

I've had my own battles with my family and friends. Assault them with facts and information and hope they turn off the tube.

My parents

My parents are both Ron Paul supporters, so is my fiance and my daughter. But my moms husband is thinking that everything is going to be okay like Fox News told him... her husband drives her nuts. She was watching freedom to fascism and it made him angry.

Most of my neighbors are Ron Paul fans except the neocon jerk government informants that called the cops on me for shooting my pellet gun. They are my next mission for conversion. I think I will hang a Ron Paul sign in my back yard where they can see.. and start taking them dvd's and stuff.

Go easy on your mom, she still has hope. Sometimes silence is louder than words. Just make sure you leave plenty of propaganda laying around :)

This post brought so

much emotion to light. I don't hate my mother, but I do wonder every day how I am the child of my parents. I don't even know where to begin. My parents are intelligent people. Both have post graduate degrees as do I. But they are both stuck in some other dimension. I think I realized my mom was crazy when about ten years ago she claimed that the Chinese government really wanted democracy. Whoa. Say what? As a kid it was drilled in my head the phrase “Never Again!” For those of you not familiar, which is cool, that phrase represents the next generation Jews never letting the holocaust happen again. But when I talk about what is occurring in our country, these same people roll their eyes and say it could never happen here. Wasn’t that what they said in Germany? I don’t know what to say. It baffles me. They think I am crazy. I am just at a loss of words to describe what I am feeling. This I do know, you are not alone.

Here's some info artillery on Clinton

Simply say "Did you know that Hillary Clinton is number 1 on Judicial Watch's Top 10 Most Corrupt Politicians"?

Then ask "Why is a woman any better if she's just as corrupt as a man?"

Judicial watch link:
http://www.judicialwatch....

If you need more dirt, then study this website (it lists all the corrupt candidates but there's pages on her)

Your mom probably doesn't "do" the Internet, so print out a couple things to show her.

http://www.renorevolution...

On their top 10 most corrupt

On their top 10 most corrupt politicians, Clinton is #1 and Obama is #8. Guiliani and Huckabee are even on that list.

It's amazingly coincidental to see those four politicians on that list, who are or were all running for president, out of many hundreds or even thousands of politicians.

I got my whole family to vote for him

but that is about where it stopped. They all say as long as we can take care of our families, let the corrupt politicians and elitists do as they will. I try to tell them it may come to the point where it will affect your lives, and that it already is, but they refuse to take the pill. Just keep doing what you do, don't worry about those who will not awaken, even though we are saving their ass in the process. Keep up the great work.

good work

freedumb is not free! Ron Paul should walk around with a cardboard cut out of a tv on his head, maybe then americans will listen to him

Alright I don't want to get sappy on ya

but, I thought about this all day.
Maybe we all have day's when we "hate our mother"
I know I did but, I will refrain
.My Mom hated the tax system, she never trusted the government never had a credit card and always paid cash.
I know if she was here today she would be beating on pots and pans ( figuratively) For Ron Paul and I miss That! ... plopping Ron Paul signs in her front lawn at The Farrell Motel on us 1 in Edgewater,Fl

Yes, she was the maid and owner, a one woman wonder.( and I had quite an interesting upbringing )
Being an independent, owner, tax payer, never having an employer. She was not able to get Medicaid and was tossed aside by our government in her time of need, because, she refused to give the government all her finances for simple relief (prescription aid) or any other aid for her ailing condition.
to the end , twelve years maybe fifteen, she resisted all the way.

Cherish and love your mom... there all hard headed

Know Parkinson's hate the disease!

.

.

I feel your pain

Although my parents were easy (my dad is a gun guy and my mother is a manic depressive so she already felt the looming doom~haha) my in-laws are fax watching brainwashed selfish lunatics that will not listen to reason. The rave about McCain and loved Reagan... idiots.

Sales Panic

You had an attack of what I call "sales panic." This is when you realize that your prospect has or is about to reject your sales offer.

The correct response is the one you gave: ask a question. Next time you need to take it further. Ask her if she would vote for any woman, or is Hillary special? How is she special? Would she vote for Carol Burnett? Her best woman friend? Herself?

Ask what does she think are the qualities that make the best presidents.

Agree with her when possible and indicate why you think Ron Paul meets those needs.

It is a long process. You may need to clip articles (or send links) to things which tell her more about Hillary than she wants to know.

Most voters are just as superficial. It's kind of like rooting for the home team. The home team isn't necessarily the best team. But the more you get her to question her own logic, the closer you'll get to being able to ask her to consider Ron Paul.

The fallback is: Hillary isn't the nominee, yet: Suggest that Ron Paul is the next best thing so in case Hillary is not running and Ron Paul is, she'll choose Ron Paul.

The other option is to have an exchange: you convince someone else's mother, and let them convince yours.

IMissLiberty

I would vote for Carol

I would vote for Carol Burnette in a heartbeat... if Tim Conway was her running mate... LOL

I wish my mother were still

I wish my mother were still alive; I know she would be open-minded about my political beliefs. However, I do have a friend who is 80-ish and in a way she is like a mother to me. My friend has been pro-Hillary. When I brought up the subjecct of Ron Paul, she asked me who he was. I tried to explain to her that many people hadn't heard of Ron Paul because of the power of the media to shut Dr. Paul out of the political process to the point where folks didn't know anything about him.

Next time I saw her she told me that she had talked with a few friends of hers who had heard of Ron Paul and they referred to him as a "kook." I told her that this label and others I attribute to the MSM's influence on the general public.

I think of how I have been influenced by the media in the past and I understand how so many people who still trust and believe the MSM do not stop to think whether their trust has been misplaced.

In a way it reminds me of when we were children and we believed everything our parents told us without question. As we matured, there came a point when we realized that they were wrong about some things or at least had a different perspective from ours.

Also, I grew up at a time when children trusted and respected the President and trusted the Media. We, as children, couln't fathom that the government or media would lie or betray us. We couldn't conceive of the idea that they would manipulate us for their own gain.

Now, I believe that lots of people (especially of another generation) are in a way "child-like" in their trust of the President, the government, and the Media. To me, it is chilling to think of the power and influence that the MSM has over many of the people in this country.

When I first started questioning my beliefs about the government and the media, my first response was "surely, our President wouldn't do 'such and such'" and "surely, the media would not deliberately distort the news!"

Looking back I feel not only betrayed, but I feel like I was so naive about such things. I think it will be very difficult for some folks (at first) to contemplate the gross betrayal by the government, political candidates and the media. To think of such betrayal makes one feel helpless and disillustioned, AND then later - angry, and then it motivates many to stand up for their rights.

It's not easy when the beliefs we have held onto for many years have to be re-examined. Again, i think this is especially true for the older generation.

In my humble opinion, I think it is a time to be as patient as possible with your mother, and yes, I will pray that she -- any many others will soon see the light.

wow

freedumb is not free! great info thanks

I hear ya and I agree--which

I hear ya and I agree--which might not be such a great thing.

I have a mother just like yours. I think mine is worse because my mom is hopped up on pharmaceuticals and her brain has rotted.

She used to be a great person, smart, beautiful, alert... now she lives out her golden years through a pill bottle thanks to Big Pharm and the medical industrial complex.

She also says the same thing as your mother. This has made me suspect of anyone who votes for Hillary Clinton.

Obama, Hillary, McCain are all the choices for the mentally deficient or unintelligent... says something about America, don't it?

Simmer down.

You're taking this way to seriously. Everyone, regardless of thier political views (even those based entirely in ignorance), is entitled to thier own beliefs. Our job is to educate not to point fingers. If your mom can't be reached, try to educate someone who can. I have never met your mother, but instead of trash talking her on the internet, maybe you should go by her some flowers. It may not get her vote but it might make her feel good, and its a good way to burn off some of the negativity you seem to be carrying around .

thats true

freedumb is not free! you never met my mother or me for that matter . Im not a negative person and the title of this thread was not my true feelings toward my mother it was purely hyperbole. as far as taking this too seriously i dont think so its kind of important butthanks for the feedback

Don't worry about it - she's still your mother;

If your mom is a registered Democrat don't waste your time trying to convert her now - work on the more open minded folks - fortunately for me my mother is registered R BUT she back when wasn't going to vote for RP because she's a former nurse in the school district - now that it's down to McCain & Paul - she IS VOTING for him &&&& more importantly the DELEGaTES - it's just like hemp, many years back she thought it was crazy, it just takes a LOT of time with your loved ones BUT DON'T get discouraged - you have breaken away from the family comfort zone & your children will see you as more enlightened - maybe in 4 more years your mother will change her mind - IT happens... Don't curse her, it's bad Karma.. :)

I hear yah sister/brother

My mom loves Ron Paul and is fortunately awake. BUT sounds like your mother is the epitome of the MSM brainwashing job. My brother on the other hand voted for Romney and now will vote cCain, he loves FOX news, but agrees with me about the brainwashing going on, which is pretty humorous when he is one that is obviously brainwashed.

I suggest you keep planting seeds, don't give up. STOP talking and drop off a slim jim, then if she has email send her a video, just keep planting the seeds and maybe she will come around or arbitraily have others come around.

I know it seems slow, but you have to climb this ladder and if you are pulling someone up with you that does not want to go you have to let go or go down with them.

got it

freedumb is not free! just feels like time is short to turn people around. im trading in my ladder for a catapult to move things along thanks for the feedback

These are the generations

Who embraced socialism in America, and grew up with the welfare handouts.
When things crumble we will step in and let them know their days are over. We gave you a chance to lead, you failed, now follow or get out of the way.

I hate to be so harsh, but somebody needs to slap em into reality.

So much for this "Greatest Generation" preserving Liberty.

I would still give them the title greatest generation, for birthing the generation who will restore and preserve liberty.

I like your answer.

And I have been trying to get my mom to wake up as well. I have however been rentless in pointing out why things need to change. She is starting to get the bigger picture. Hell I even have her investing in gold.

We can all say what needs to be done, but who here led by example today?

Don't

Don't hate your mother, it is HER choice to choose what she believes and we must respect and accept that. We must go on to the next person who will listen. Alot of us will have broken hearts when we have to leave family and friends behind, but it is their choice. Until they experience what is happening first hand, they will continue to be in denial, and even then some still wont get it.

hyperbole

freedumb is not free! of course. people just need to see the man speak it only took one video to get my wifes attention. quickly i came home from work one day and my wife said i am voting for obama my response why because oprah told you to her response yes. i asked her what state he was a senator from and then whats his first name, silence yup she got my point

Next time

Direct your mom to the "Clinton Chronicles" on youtube, and see if she still thinks this is the woman she wants running the country. Did she like Bill too? I know your post wasn't intended to be funny, but it made me laugh because it is so true of the shallow reasons so many people give for the person they support. I hear the same stuff all of the time.

always

freedumb is not free! abit of humor

Struggling with the same issues

Yup, it's true. My daughter in law who is an adorable ditz, fully consumed with American Idol and drama actually said the 4 letter word to me yesterday. She said "she is afraid for me because I am in a CULT"

After a few banters back & forth she told me "don't drink the koolaid"

Me? Drink the koolaide? hahaha.

Last thing I said to her was..."Stop using flouridated tooth paste & drinking water w/flouride in it. You do know Nazzi Germany used that to control their masses while they worked the life out of them & then burned the remains."

It occured to me this morning, my fight is not with those who are asleep but with the demented system who has propagated this propaganda and with the politicians & authorities who push & allow this crap to continue.

None so blind as those who will not see. I've decided to leave them alone and "Fight for all of our freedoms instead of Fighting them. They may never know, but since they are my family how can I stop loving or caring for them? My grandchildren are depending on a future of freedom.

nice

freedumb is not free! none are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free

A cult? LOL

I too have been accused of that a few times, and even my 15 year old daughter, although not very political, I prefer her to have Christian friends on the net, but when one Baptist fellow who was chatting with her, found out that she wanted to marry and have 8 kids when she grew up, and grow a big garden and be a domestic oriented mom who homeschooled, and had no plans for college, he immediately said "You are cultish, I can't talk to you anymore!" LOL, what has this world come to when even the Christians think that a traditional mother is CULTISH?

My brother (who was solidly against Mc Cain)

now thinks he has no alternative but to go for Mc Cain and had the chutzpah to tell me i should have gone for Romney. (so we wouldn't have been stuck w/ Mc Cain. ) I gave him a brief lecture on principled voting and he said " That's why we will be stuck w/ McCain, because Huckabee and Paul supporters wouldn't back Romney.

Libera me, let the truth break, what my fears make--Leslie Phillips

And if enough idiots didn't vote for Muck, Huck or Romney Ron

Paul could be the clear nominee today.

marlow

Just wait you'll have your chance.

As the economy disintegrates and the dollar becomes worth next to nothing, inflation goes out of control, your parents realize their investments and 401k's are worthless, and begin to start complaining about the economy and how it's killing them, speak quick. Your opportunity to convert them is at hand. Then inform them how bad it will be with a national health care plan paid for with their social security money and higher taxes.

Both of my parents thru the years

have thought my ideas were so radical, and when I told them about Ron Paul, I thought they would do the same, and yet, my dad decided to vote for him, and is on his second book by Ron Paul. My mother never knows who to vote for, unless they are the most handsome, yeah, you know, the type. BUT this year, my sister convinced her that if she cared about her grandchildren's future, she should vote for Ron Paul, so I am very proud to announce that they BOTH voted for him in the primary in NH. Now, to convince them to NOT vote for the lesser of two evils.........in the general election, and to use that pen (unless God is merciful to us and he wins the nomination).Hey, I am an optomist.

yea well

at least you aren't making excuses for the twit. Yes she and millions of others are the reason we are in trouble. They drank the stupid kool aid and now words like change are all they need to vote. Not full sentences, not plans for a stable economy, one word sentences because that's all they are able to process. We are in fact in the Matrix but we have to do our part to wake them back up. Keep trying. The history lesson she will need to even comprehend what you are saying will take months but you have time until November.

it's okay

If Ron Paul dissed everyone who didn't like him he would walk around a pretty angry man. My mom is a Hillary supporter too, hates Paul; so what am I to do---Tell her "don't blame me I voted for Ron Paul."

Lol ..

I had a similar experience with my in-laws.
They were standing in their driveway staring dumbly at my bumper stickers one day, and when I tried to explain I got the same Hillary speel.
When I asked them "why Hillary" I got more of the same dumb stare.
Unfortunatly the stare broke off after a few seconds and they started chanting "Hillary, Hillary" as if they were hypnotised and at some event.
Sigh.

IT'S A GIRL!

I have the same problem with my mom. The older generation is pretty good at using computers to forward stupid jokes in email, but they don't use it for news. They still rely on the MSM and local news for information.
I tried to state my case to my mom and sister the other night. They just looked at me like they didn't want to hear it anymore. Even my uncle that saw my Ron Paul bumper sticker said "I don't think he's gonna win", with a chuckle. I realized then that it's like trying to pull plugged people out of the MATRIX. They'll be plugs until they're not.

On a side note: I just had a baby girl! 7lb 12oz on April 16th...and her first words were waaaa waaaaa ron paul waaaaaa

~1776

congrats on the baby girl

freedumb is not free! had aboy in nov he just makes 80's metal music screams maybe i need to record them and play them backwards to see what he is saying

Congratulations

A brand new revolutionist. May she grow up healthy, happy, and FREE

Congratulations!

I pray your little daughter will grow up in a free country.

youth

You cannot teach a 3rd grader college math. Lighten up. Accept your Mom for who she is and enjoy life. Walk the walk, talk the talk and your Mom will respect you enough to see what you're up to.

Easiest way

The easiest way to get anyone to understand is to not discuss Paul directly. Simply point out when they are complaining about an issue (even the cost of eggs or something similar) why the issue exists then explain how Hillary will NOT fix that issue and possibly make it worse (such as war with Iran increasing fuel prices and all other prices increasing like they already are). Use whatever you can, and explain how things occur, and at the very end explain the way to fix the issue Dr. Paul's way and explain he is the only one promoting the solution to the issues. Usually this works best because you open a dialog about a topic other than a presidential candidate and get the other to agree, then associated their agreement with Dr. Paul.

I have done tis with my parents and my girlfriend's parents who are all in their 60s and very brainwashed after decades of the propaganda. They now subscribe to Dr. Paul's ideals and all support him. It took working on the idea first then the man second. Give this method a try. Usually value of a fiat dollar's inflation contrasted to commodity based currency is a good topic to break someone in. :)

Sometimes

A prophet is not without honour, save in His own country, and in His own house. Maybe not the exact situation but similiar. Children will often listen to others before they listen to their parents...and the same with parents and grown children. If you could convince someone whom your mother admires..or listens to..then you may be able to reach her through another "source"...sometimes it works..sometimes it doesn't.

Paulvangelism

Okay; I started to comment here, but it got so darn long that I felt I'd better make a separate post of it. So thanks, Freedumb, for jump starting my thought processes on this. You can see my comment (now post!) here:
http://www.dailypaul.com/...

When you get upset think about how long it

has taken Dr. Paul to get this far. Think about how happy Dr. Paul was to see all the young people who hear his message. Think about how lucky we are to understand what is going on and not in the dark like the others are.
I think it is like the river rising until it comes in our front door it's not a problem.

what would ron paul do bracelets

freedumb is not free! do they exist? not joking

I don't know

All my Ron Paul bracelets say either "Choose Freedom" or "Choose Liberty."

That's It!

That IS what Ron Paul would do: Choose Freedom! Choose Liberty!
