Texas Polygamy Case is Shocking!!!
That whole situation is shocking!
Every single American should feel uneasy and angry about what is going on there. Those people are having their whole lives ripped apart just so some news corporations can make ratings and earn more sponsorship capital.
If you go to any of the anti-whitemale-homosexual-depopulation-socialist MSM sites like Huffington Post or ABC they are drooling over this story. They love this crap! They love it when something like this happens in middle America, especially when there's white people involved.
If I grabbed some cops and cameras and ran downtown to some freaky bathhouse in San Fran and screamed "Hey! What are you doing? Is this legal?!?!?" They would have ME locked up! And to be honest, maybe I should be if I did something stupid like that.
Polygamy might seem wrong but is it any different then say allowing lesbians adopt children? How can we sit here and say one is any different than the other? Who makes these rules?
Every time I see a news report on that family, cult, whatever you want to call them, it makes me sick. They look healthy, happy, and very thoughtful. Now, let's compare say your typical public high school to those kids. What you'll find in the public high school are a majority of unhealthy, depressed, and thoughtless kids--the polar opposite.
I'm not standing up for polygamy, or cults, but let's be real here, do people actually believe that if we let one of these groups get away with it then thousands will sprout up all over America?
I mean, we let the Catholic church get away with having sex with underage boys, why didn't we send the swat team in to those places????
What a sick place this country has turned into.
American freedom is a farce wrapped in a scam....
output

You misunderstand. Putting
You misunderstand. Putting the psychological troubles from the confusing life polygamy can create aside, the problem here is abuse. That is the problem. If do not recognize the existence of oppression here, then you miss the point. Polygamy is an idiotic thing in the first place, but that isn't the problem here.
And we don't "let" the Catholic church get away with it. Have not many cases be brought to light? Is that not the main reason most of the world knows about it? Granted I am sure it goes on more than is discovered, but that is the case with pretty much everything.
WHY ARE THERE NOT RIOTS IN FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE???
NO CANDLELIGHT VIGIL??? WHAT PLANET AM I ON???? AMERICANS ARE NOT OUTRAGED AT THIS??? IS IT CAUSE THE NEWS MEDIA IS NOT REPORTING IT???
Shocking: Court Refuses to Hear FLDS Mothers' Request
Court refuses to hear FLDS mothers' request

SAN ANGELO, Texas — An appeals court is rebuffing efforts by Fundamentalist LDS mothers seeking to keep their children from being scattered in foster care facilities across Texas.
In an order issued late Friday, Texas' 3rd Court of Appeals in Austin denied the request by 45 mothers and canceled a hearing scheduled for Tuesday. The appellate court said in its ruling that there was "insufficient information to warrant granting temporary emergency relief," and denied the motion to stop the placement of the children in foster care.
The court's justices did say that they would consider a petition by the Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid Society that questions the original hearing, the evidence and the decision by Judge Barbara Walther to keep all 462 children in state protective custody. It also asked the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to address those issues in court papers to be filed by May 2.
The appeals court order came on the same day that Texas child welfare authorities finished placing all the children into foster-care facilities after Walther ruled they were abused or were at risk of abuse, stemming from allegations of underage marriages on the FLDS Church's YFZ Ranch.

The damage to the children caused by removing them from their home is irreparable and constantly increasing. The ONLY justification for actions like this is the certainty that damage is occurring in the home. So far Texas has yet to show there is damage occurring in the home. They're down to three females, either adult or otherwise that they can say might be pregnant, and depending on who you talk to there may only be one girl pregnant who MIGHT be or MIGHT have been below the age of consent when she became pregnant. They don't know WHO she is pregnant by, and frankly, she does not owe Texas the answer. She is not by their definition, the criminal. POTENTIALLY whoever made her pregnant might be a criminal, but could be young enough themselves to make the act not criminal. Thus Texas has no evidence of a crime at all, and for all they know, the act that made the girl pregnant could have occurred in a place OTHER than Texas. One pregnant teenager of questionable age (she is claiming she is 18) is not enough to ship all kids to foster care. How could the court refuse to hear?

The cruelty of Texas authorities just makes me sick. Separating the children from mothers terribly traumatizes the kids. This action does not make any sense and makes me wonder how the USA can present itself as a defender of human rights in the world when authorities don't care about constitutional rights of American citizens. It's a shame. I hope the kids will be back with their parents soon, and those responsible for the outrageous action will be punished.
FLDS Babies
A good letter from the Letters to the Editor in the Salt Lake Tribune. This correspondent aptly suggests, without outright stating it, that there is way more going on here than simply trying to keep children from being "brainwashed" (a bogus reason to kidnap them anyway).
As of today, the rest of the babies who are 366 days or older have been taken from their mothers. Nursing infants who are older than 365 days have been peeled from their mothers' arms, wailing, as Texas Rangers and attorneys stand by, helplessly, crying for the children and the mothers.
Yes, indeed, there is much more going on here. It is psychological warfare against these people, showing them at every turn who's the boss: "Thou shalt have no god before me," the State tells them not so subtly.

OK, now I'm really mad. If the premise for keeping the FLDS children in custody is that they are in imminent peril of being sexually abused or brainwashed, why are nursing mothers being kept from their babies? ("Texas judge won't allow nursing polygamist moms to stay with seized FLDS kids," Tribune, April 22.) You can't indoctrinate nursing babies. You can, however, harm them irreparably by keeping them from the best form of nutrition they have. Is Texas going to monitor these babies for the rest of their lives and assume the cost for treatment of all the diseases that we currently believe breast milk gives children a head start against?
Judge Barbara Walter said that every day in our country nursing mothers return to work after maternity leave. There is one big difference. Whether those mothers returned because of financial or other circumstances, they had a choice. These mothers have had this very basic choice taken away.
Have common sense and due process of law become mutually exclusive in our country? I am so ashamed. I don't want to be a part of a government that has no heart.

oh and what part of
congress (no one else for that matter) shall make NO LAW don't they understand?
what can we do?
i know contact lawmakers would help. but there has to be more than that. we have got to do something. someone has got to do something. this is an outrage.
Two things you can do
1) Pressure the ACLU of Texas. Right now they are just "observing" and making a few comments from time to time on the issue. Let's pressure them to jump in with both feet. ACLU of Texas: 512-478-7300.
2) Donate, if you can to the children's defense fund, at www.captivefldschildren.o...
And, another I have been mulling over for the last 2 days:
3) Let's try to put together a money bomb for these folks. Anyone here great at organizing?
Where are the men?
The fathers? Perhaps I missed this somewhere.
They are all at the ranch
where most of the women are now, also.
Free the Children
I can't believe more people aren't outraged by this. Granting the government the authority to take everyone's children away because of the potential of abuse is frightening. It's pre-emptive crime fighting, the little sibling of pre-emptive war. I hope and pray that America wakes up.
Instead of punishing child molesters the government has punished the innocent women and children. Let's throw some perverted old men into prison but leave the innocent alone!
It all rides on what those in power deem to be important.
and its almost never the children. Sad, isn't it!
I learned yesterday that the state
proposes to ship some of the kids to a facility just a couple of streets west of where I live. The whole affair has a stink to it that is getting stronger with each passing day. This is how bad precedent is born.
This situation is very troubling
The Best interests of the children is the overriding and fundamental principle in child protection law here in Canada and I expect it is so in the United States also.
As far as possible Children must be protected by their families first,
from harm.
What is the evidence of harm to these children? That is not a rhetorical question. I am not jumping on any bandwagon here. Is there real evidence of child rape? abuse? neglect? including neglect of their minds? Frankly I don't much care about parent's rights because I have heard too much made of that in my practice. Children do not have a voice. Where these harms have been allowed to occur the solution must not harm the child further. Government autohorities are infamous for not considering the real day to day harm to children from either leaving them in situations of abuse or taking them away. They do have too much power. These situations call for balance and cooperation with healthy respect for the family.
If it is shown that harm arises from the situation in which children live and from persons who are not their parents, then the parents must be required to take steps to ensure the harm ceases, but they should be the ones to choose those steps. Taking children from their parents must be a last resort but at times it is necessary. As a lawyer involved in child abuse and endangerment litigation arising out of family law, I say listen to the children but never guide what they say. The biggest problem is that no one listens to the children. They don't have choice, but they must be safe, really safe, to tell the truth.
This is no longer America
when the State can come in without a search warrant and kidnap all of your children. If you do not feel anything for these people then what will happen when your children are taken away?
all
just damn good practice for martial law. Its obvious what we have here, just a matter of time before they come for us and our families. Someone should call and "alledge" these cops are molesting family members at their own homes and show them they arent exempt from this kind of treatment, they think they are safe from losing their families,A few more foreign troops on our soil will take care of them..NO PROOF OF NOTHING gets kids ripped away these days. US becoming Natzi country Good job Boosh By the way, Where is saviour Romney during all this?
Romney is a pansy
With all respect to the many very nice pansies in the world, and apologies for besmirching the good name of the flower.
Romney said on 60 Minutes this past winter that "I can not imagine anything more awful than polygamy." Romney's own grandparents--HIS OWN GRANDPARENTS for goodness sake--were polygamists who were DRIVEN OUT OF THEIR OWN COUNTRY into Mexico as a result of their firm belief in the principle of plural marriage. And Romney slapped his ancestors in the face by saying he can't imagine anything more awful than the very principle THEY SACRIFICED to uphold.

Blowback...
How many people will this assault push over the line?
Didn't McVeigh cite Waco as justification for the OK City bombing?
It is going to be tragic if something similiar happens because of this, so many people were killed or injured needlessly because of it, and it only served to give the government more power.
Even if everything turns out ok, and everyone gets to go home and no wrong doing was found, they will have served their purpose. Affirming that the government has given itself the authority to do what ever to whoever under any circumstance.

Although, I do not believe
Although, I do not believe the FLDS teachings, I have grave concerns on how Texas has taken these children, along with the Baptist’s role.
Read why and see data – as this fact is virtually absent from media reports:
Governor Rick Perry called on “Baptists Child and Family Services” a “humanitarian nonprofit” to command and control the mass shelters now holding the FLDS children. I am experienced in FEMA emergency management, so I now what this means. I reported this to Matt Drudge (Drudge Report) this am; and although, he has not posted anything on it (there are virtually no articles to post) well, now the Baptist’s BCFS page has gone ‘under construction.’ Their main page is still up.
In addition, this Baptist org. offers “foster care and ADOPTION” service too. The state of TX 'outsources' foster/adoption to contracting agencies. Will this ’service’ Baptist organization get these children to foster out too? Yes, read on.
http://www.bcfs.net/NetCo...
Baptist history of sexual abuse: According to the Dallas Morning News, Christa Brown of Austin, has helped the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) to extend its work to victims of Baptist clergy. The baptist convention has long kept a secret confidential list of pastors believed to have engaged in homosexual relationships or sexual misconduct including adultery or pornography addiction. Pastors can get on the list through a conviction or, in the case of noncriminal activity, a confession or a report from a church.

Ref. web page by an attorney endured Baptist abuses for years: www.stopbaptistpredators....
UPDATE: The original web page showing photos of the FLDS children and detailing Baptist Children Family Services overseeing the shelters, was authored by Kevin Dinnan, Pres. Since they took down the web page showing them operating the FLDS shelters over these children, I searched and found a Baptist Associated Press article which reveals 5 Baptist orgs. (churches and foster/adoption) involved; the BCFS running the shelters at the request of the State Governor’s Emergency Management Agency and it appears the FLDS babies and children are to be moved on into the Baptist hands for foster and likely adoption...into the hands of Baptist sexual predators?
http://www.abpnews.com/31...
We know the severe CPS problems, and considering the Baptist’s sexual abuse of children, why has the state of TX put the FLDS children in their hands?
An aside, a review of the State CPS agency track records on caring for children is beneficial.
TX Comptroller, Carole Keeton-Strayhorn, in 2004, found the state’s CPS foster care kids–raped, murdered, poisoned.
She writes:
“When I called on Gov. Perry in October 2004 to create a Crisis Management Team, I said the crisis was minute-by-minute and child-by-child.
“In Fiscal 2004, four-year old twin boys living in the same foster home received medical treatment in the hospital for rape.
“A five-year old boy in the same foster home received medical treatment in the hospital for rape two days later.
“A 15-year old girl who was not pregnant when she entered our state’s foster care system in May 2002 gave birth in February 2004.
“The state is supposed to be protecting our forgotten children, but in all too many cases these children are taken from one abusive situation and placed in another abusive situation. Many children are in more abusive situations now than they were before the state intervened. Children are being neglected and abused and are dying.” http://www.window.state.t...

Yeah, the Baptist part creeped me out.
Southern Baptists were responsible for my "education." I know those people and their tactics. Those kids would be a lot better off with their families.
From what I understand
these women and children have perfectly good homes of their own. Let them go home and let the authorities investigate the alleged crimes and remove only those against whom they have some evidence are harming children. I said remove, not arrest, not detain, just remove them from the home until their names are cleared, one by one. Set up housing for them, let them do their work, bring in money for their families and have contact.
WWJD
WWJD?
I get the impression it involves a field trip to the Gulf of Mexico with a bunch of CPS workers and a millstone for each one.
Both the State of Texas and FLDS deserve what they get
Read the article first.
They are perfect together.

baseless allegations in the latter half of the editorial
Sadly he repeats many of the baseless allegations that have caused so much prejudice toward these people in the first place. I don't believe this author has really researched the matter so much as just to repeat the same things the MSM says about them.
Texas / FLDS / Welfare / Lost Boys / Inalienable Rights
Lose / Lose / Lose / Lose / Lose situation
Everybody loses, see?
The welfare and lost boys
issues have been exaggerated grossly.
Boys admitted they were
Boys admitted they were disobedient to parents.
Gee... in the Old Testament, they stoned bad sons.
LOL! Yeah, the FLDS are very lenient by those standards!
Tough love is sometimes the only thing that works. Even mainstream folks like Dobson and Dr. Feel advocate the use of tough love where warranted.
Paris and Britney are on holiday
and the MSM needs something sordid to distract people. Can you blame them? They're just doing their job. But the folks watching that crap are sleeping on the job. They're supposed to be vigilant citizens of a Constitutional Republic. But hey, child molesters make irresistable copy.
Can't there be a
Liberty lawsuit that can be filed against the media in the form of slander or something, I don't know but this infringes on all our liberties and the media is leading the charge? I would like to think this is a form of slander.
GOOD POINT... I've seen
GOOD POINT...
I've seen media reports that outright lie.
Mostly, they do it by omission too.
Like...claiming that there is 'evidence' of 5-20 pregnant underage girls.
Only one report explained how the defense attorney exposed the CPS worker on the stand--that this was simply by the worker's visual observation and opinion that they 'looked' underage!!!!!
Media left that out.
They lie, and then they refuse to retract or apologize
Another situation was that the CPS head stormtrooper, Voss, claimed she was protecting "many pregnant 13 year olds." Hundreds of involuntary pregnancy tests later, she was forced to admit there were "five pregnant girls under 18".
But the media is still yapping about 13 year olds married to old men and having babies, despite this having been proven to be a complete falsehood.
They also printed all the salacious tales of girls being raped in the temple on a bed, that an expert has testified under oath likely has nothing to do with sex. Where's the retraction or the reporting on his testimony? In only one paper as far as I can tell.
But
I think it should be a class action lawsuit, that everyone can get on it as it incroaches on everyones liberty, and tries to make it sound ok.
I can only suspect that FLDS lawyers are working overtime
these days trying to keep up with all the motions and suits they need to file. Who of us can even imagine trying to coordinate such a massive legal effort?
Of course sequential polygamy
or serial monogamy, which is indisputably harmful to children, is quite naturally sanctioned if not actively encouraged by the state through no-fault divorce etc. It's perfectly acceptable to have multiple wives/spouses, just be sure you toss your old one one first. The hypocrisy sickens me.
My question is, since most people's morals come from the Bible, especially those of the "moral majority", where do people get the idea that there is something wrong with polygamy? Polygamy has never been outlawed at any time in either the Old or New Testaments.
This is good blog that has been following the recent events... http://freedominourtime.b...

good blog run by an attorney
Got Ex -Wives
those polygamists should just employ a work around to the issue by getting a divorce and continuing to have sex with their EX'es and supporting the children of those marriages.
Depends on where you are
In Utah, even this is illegal as they have a law against cohabiting or even appearing or holding out to others as being married.
This tactic got Tom Green five years in prison.
Stupid law, for sure. And you can darn well bet that the cohabitation law is only selectively enforced.
Appeal To Higher Court?
This Judge Walthers -- is she the highest ranking judge in Texas?
There must be some court superior to hers -- is there no higher court to which the attorneys can appeal? Can an appeal be made before hearings/trials are completed? Can the entire proceedings be thrown out for misconduct on the part of the court (group hearings, no witness produced, etc.)? Can kidnapping charges (and plenty of other charges!) be filed against the State of Texas and Texas CPS? Can no one trump this diabolically insane woman? Does the fate of these families rest entirely in her hands???
(P.S. - There is nothing funny about this story, but...does anyone else keep picturing Barbara Walters whenever the judge's name is mentioned?)
I agree this is such a
I agree this is such a serious matter. Those poor children. I would fight back hard before i would let anyone take my child. I am sure they are ....
I don't share how they live their lives. If it's free will......
The authorities needed an injured party to act on them.
This injured part was a thirty something old woman not in their sect, who didn't like these guys.
There should be a "Sorry, here are your kids back."
Someone in a uniform or not comes to take my kids, it will be over my dead body. OR I want to come and take theirs! See how they like that!

God help the Amish in Pa.
if any one calls a false alarm in on them. Their property is worth incredible amounts in Pennsylvania. The real issues of the law would be no different.
If they can forcibly remove a whole communities children from their parent or parents based upon an admittedly hoax call, and they do have a suspect, under these circumstances than we are less than a step away from institutionalized Hitler Youth.
