McCain Picks Failing Ohio Factory to Laud Free Trade

...the people who set up these little dog & pony shows along the way have a truly sick sense of humor. It's so in our face....they're taunting us, and most of the public doesn't even see it.

Thankfully, my parents moved to Virginia when I was 6 months old. We've only been back to Youngstown twice in the last 30+ years, and I'm very glad I didn't grow up there. It's a perfect example of what happens to cities because of NAFTA, etc. The steel mills all closed and the city fell apart. The last time we were there, there were potholes big enough to swallow cars and we locked our car doors when driving downtown so someone wouldn't get in with us. My old house had bullet holes in the windows. Who knows where I'd be now if I grew up there. I feel sorry for the people living there, but I'm glad I'm not one of them.

What a complete moron. Its like he's rubbing it in their face. Its like he's saying, yeah, you saw the 50 guys that got laid off last month....youre next...Its good for the economy so suck it up and go back to school and get an education for another job that doesnt exist. Additional schooling and training does not create jobs. It might work on a small scale. Do you think during the depression if people went and got training for another job we wouldnt of had the depression. The jobs have to exist first. I grew up 40 miles north of Youngstown. It is thee most depressing city you could ever visit in this country. NAFTA is strongly disliked here in Ohio. Cross off another state John Alzheimer could never win in the general election, along with PA!

As someone who has been thru Youngstown - (Never Now at Night) it is a city that received the shaft when Nafta - Gatt & all the other Anti America - Pro China - Trade agreements where put into play. Conditions are deplorable. The people have mostly stopped looking for work, most are on welfare of some sort & everything - roads - schools - buildings are just in total disarray & decay. Sadly there are many many cities & towns across America with the same conditions. Mind Boggling how most Americans just accept it - no doubt some kind of mind control is being used.

McCain on free trade is like saying a socialist likes capitalism.
McCain is a Flip Flopper and we all know it

McCain also stated "If you are corrupt like me and do what you're told, chances are that the G.O.P. will shove you down the public's throat"

He also stated " You may want to find some unsuspecting rich woman and trick her into marrying you, but be careful not to show your evil temper until after you close the deal"

Nothing but a photo-op. I don't trust a thing that comes out of this man's mouth.

That is exactly how I feel about our revolution!

McCain said we're in an information technology revolution, or something to that effect, and that workers needed retraining to reflect this. Well, if people retrain into the IT field, they can still be passed over for foreign workers(who will work for less money than citizens will) coming in on H-1B visas because businesses often abuse the H-1B visa system(which is illegal but it happens on a wide scale) and specifically go out of their way to avoid hiring U.S. citizens even when U.S. citizens are available and apply for the jobs.

And Bill Gates called for unlimited H-1B visas...if that happens, you'll have a lot of American citizens in high tech industry who will be screwed and will not be able to find the high tech jobs they were trained and educated for.
And keep in mind we have 20+ million illegal aliens taking jobs from lower class citizens and driving down wages, so the lower and middle class citizens of this country are getting screwed.

It's as profound as anything the man has said or done so far.

but if he got into office do you think he would support it then?
