I don't know this new site at all (aside from the, ahem, generous number of postings about it), so I am not in a position to vouch either for or against it. However, this thread does bring to mind this pre-Revolution observation from John Adams:
"I am discovering that this continent is a vast unweildly machine. We are thirteen colonies, strangers, largely unacquainted with each other, now rushing together in one great mass. It is not surprising that we are jealous of each other's designs, fearful, timid, skittish."
Might I suggest that we are very much poised on a hair-trigger and are perhaps not judging things with the calm repose of objectivity? And not without good reason -- sheesh, just look at all the threats we're facing on a daily basis now! But before we leap and claim "subversion!" and "CIA mining site!" it might behoove us to do a little investigation rather than hurl automatic knee-jerk assessments.
That being said: RonPaulians.com representative, are you aware that there are already sites in existence that are set up to accomplish that which you purport to create? They're called "Meetup" groups. It's right where thousands upon thousands of RP supporters (notice I didn't use the "D" or "R" word) have been gathering together to make and carry out plans, complete with message boards for online communication. It's been a very successful route for those wishing to band together to make a difference.
You can join your local and area Meetups, and even join the National RP Meetup Group to rally the troops. Or, you can go ahead and reinvent the wheel, and best wishes to you. Just wanted you to know there are other options available.

And keep in mind that most people ridiculed MySpace and Facebook as useless and "who would want to sit on a website and gawk at each other all day!".

Meetup groups...
First of all thank you very much for your wise words :) Where are you founders when we need you!!! lol
As for meetup groups, they are indeed a wonderful tool and many find it useful. But each niche has it's own devotees. I'm on the WPB meetup group and the dialog is typically 1 or 2 emails a day. We're not so much reinventing the wheel, we're meeting needs of the Myspace generation. They want chitter chatter and pretty pictures... lol
Room For All Approaches
Not to dissuade you (truly), but I reckon most steadfast patriots, at least here on DP, are probably less interested in social-site chitter chatter and pretty pictures, and would rather focus on real issues and action to get something accomplished. I suppose a "MySpace" style site would be of use to the oh-what's-Brittney-done-today? crowd, so you might make some inroads there. As you say, each niche has its own devotees.
Personally, I don't see that type of site as becoming a repository for most RP supporters, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. :)
And if your Meetup is slow, you can certainly inject your own enthusiasm and event planning skills into your group, and bring it alive once more. Participation in one (RonPaulians.com) does not negate participation in the other (Meetup and other programs designed to spread the Revolution).

...steadfast patriots. Not all RP supporters will go to the length you or I would go. There are the quiet non-leader types who look for validation more regularly then say you or I would. And while some may have a 'guilty fascination with celebrities, they still vote.
Some may remain in that mold all of their lives yet know deep down in their guts that the message of freedom and liberty trumps all and in the end will act accordingly. Think of how many "early adopters" of the American revolution there was... yet when push came to shove the "brittneyites" of the day made the right choice :)
We cannot all be leaders of men... (it's that damn bell curve) lol
Myspace inaction
we have millions of Ron Paul supporters locked into the distraction that is Myspace. They become bullied into "toning down" their enthusiasm and support. So basically what you have is a bunch of profile bumper stickers and no real action...
We want to harness those people into a Ron Paul friendly environment and encourage them to be part of the process i.e. becoming delegates, etc.
They live and breathe social networking.. It's what they love and know... Something forums like this cannot give them... Forums are for the more intellectual crowd... We are trying to meet that need and keep their eyes on the ball.
And frankly, I like the relaxed atmosphere... A place where people can just relax and goof with each other :)

is a dead giveaway. This is a data mining site. This has nothing to do with the official march nor is it run by a true supporter.

I registered ronpublican.com back in Jul 2007 but it seemed too divisive for the Dem and independent Ron Paul supporters...

Also did you not know Dr. Ron Paul is a REPUBLICAN and is running for the REPUBLICAN nomination? And his supporters have spent unknown money and time registering his supporters as REPUBLICANS.

Ron Paul is running as a Republican because he has a better chance within the party. If he had a choice he would run as an independent or Libertarian as he did before. He does not identify with the current neocon republican ideology... He is redefining, or rolling back the republican party to it's original constitutional roots.
Fine, so your a Republican good for you... does that mean you'll be voting for McCain like a "good" Republican would?

Our main goal is to pull the Ron Paulians away from the intelligence gathering MySpace... There are millions of supporters on Myspace right where Murdoch et al wants them... Meanwhile they block comments and filter activity like Youtube.... We have worked with the campaign in the past, however, we are not affiliated with the official campaign...

We've supported Ron Paul since Justin was working in a 1 bdrm apartment for the campaign early last year! I was also, the "projenitor/spark" of the money bomb on Youtube. I didn't set-up the site but I was the one shouting out that if Ron didn't have bucks $$$ no one would pay attention. My youtube handle is Xenosent... I'm in Boca Raton, FL... Good luck with your site, as I want any site that helps promote Ron Paul to succeed, but you really need to stop spamming DP. You've posted your advertisement in way too many threads already. Maybe just keep this thread so people can discuss your site, but stop posting in all the others.
