Lessons for other states - Why we did so well in NV
I have to hand it to our floor delegates. We put together a strategy in the 3 weeks previous to the convention and the county contacts, who are grassroots activists, and the campaign together executed the strategy flawlessly.
The grassroots delegates listened to their county contacts, who are also grassroots delegates, who worked in conjunction with the campaign, to make this work.
We WORKED TOGETHER. Wow. What a novel concept. The stragegy was put together by a small group and the tactical plans were rolled out to the delegates at large the night before.
Day of, it was execute, execute, execute. The county coordinators and county delegates maintained a LASER FINE FOCUS on what mattered. No bickering. Everyone knew what we were there to accomplish and despite constant railroading by the party, our laser focus and streamlined organization from the top down and bottom up helped us stop the steamrolling at every turn.
Take lessons back from Nevada to every state. This constant bickering between a very small group of agitators who claim to be "grassroots" against the campaign CAUSES LOSSES.
In Nevada we had our act together and took 7 of the first 9 national delegates up for a vote. The McCain people BEGGED the state party chair and convention chair to end the convention BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
We beat them so bad that they cried and took their ball and went home.
We can learn from this and prosper by being united or we can ignore the best practices and lessons learned in Nevada and lose.
Leverage, leverage, leverage. Identify best practices and extend to all states' conventions.
What does it mean that the party walked out of it's own convention? We don't know yet. But for the movement of traditional republican values and the liberty movement within the Republican party, the lessons are clear. Per the founding fathers UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.
DONT TREAD ON US!
To all Nevada Delegates, I salute you.
Jeff

It's times like these
It's times like these that make me believe we could get this government functional again. You outplayed the other team. They had to quit.
More Lessons Learned
1. Do NOT leave early!!!!! We probably could have had a quorum and continued with business.
2. Take it upon yourselves to double check that the venue is rented throughout the night and for the next day as well. If it isn't, pay for it.
Heh Heh! Congratulations.

No McCain Meetups in Reno or LV
I just thought I'd check on Meetup.com...and there are _no_ Meetups listed for InSane in either Reno or LV.
The reason for my search was stealth reconnaissance. >:D
I was wondering how they (Beers, et al.) plan to get the word out to the InSane supporters as to where/when the NV convention will reconvene. And a Google search for "mccain support delegates nevada" brings up nothing like the Daily Paul for RP.
Heh. Not surprised.
But I do wonder...how are they planning to communicate with their misguided entourage?
They will swing by the
They will swing by the nursing home and have to push people's "life-alerts"

Perfect!
Oh thanks!
I just copied & pasted from the campaign site...it's a good thing you had more info. for us!!! :)
Make sure
they know to study up on Robert's Rules. It's important!!
And don't forget to give credit to
the non-Paul supporter who knew Robert's Rules better than the chair and committee and stood on principle to do what was right and stood against them. He didn't like the steamrolling that was going on and he knew the process better than anyone there! He started in on them and then looked to the crowd saying "I'm protecting your rights here!"
Later, he said to a small group gathered that some time in your life you have to make a decision to either do what's expedient, or do what's right. This man chose today to make his stand for what's right. He commented that the founding fathers had been willing to give up their lives, the fortunes and their sacred honor, and that he felt that what he did was very minor compared to that. I think what he did was right up there with the principles and the integrity of the founders!!
Mike Weber is in inspiration! Even though he's not a Ron Paul supporter, he is appalled by the treatment of the party, the party not welcoming a young, energetic, technologically advanced group of people that the party needs. They have the know how to make things happen and they know how to communicate in the 21st century. These are the things he was saying when all was said and done, while being concerned about having a job come Monday. He's fairly sure his assembly campaign is down the drain before it gets fired up. I hope he's wrong about that!!
Mike Webber
Hi LadyHawke,
Mike Webber saved the day in many ways. He went out on a limb and put his neck in a noose because he is a noble, responsible person. He didn't necessarily do what was the easiest thing, or just duck out and avoid any unpleasantness, he did what he thought was correct. I saw him this morning (Sunday) being recorded and interviewed about what happened and I would expect we'll be seeing this on youtube or similar soon. Yahoooooooo for Mike.
IT'S DOABLE
Wow
Mr. Weber should receive a letter from every Ron Paul supporter in Nevada, commending him for taking a stand. He is clearly an ally of freedom and the American political process, rather than a stooge of the political machine.
Go Mike Weber! You've just made yourself hundreds of new friends!
He's amazing.
If someone could help him get set up so he can start taking donations I'll be the first one to donate!
Here he is

I sent an email
to this guy thanking him for his support of the constitution and liberty. I also mentioned that someone might be able to help him set up a campaign funding site. I hope someone who knows how to do that follows up on this. Remember, we are in support of the Constitution and personal liberty and he is, too. We want to do whatever we can to get these good people elected.

WOW...
what a shot in the arm for the Revolution!! Who knows what other dirty tricks they may try to pull; the point has been established that the front line is ready, organized and determined to hold their ground! This attitude is going to spread! This is the stuff that is going to attract thousands more to Dr. Paul's message, because it's about doing the right thing!
