JBS is good, but it does
JBS is good, but it does come with the minor baggage of being labeled a "Bircher".
Have you checked out Freedom Force International? This one is also worth joining. http://www.freedom-force....
http://www.downsizedc.org... is good too. I actually prefer their petition module better than others I've come across.

What exactly does it mean to
What exactly does it mean to be a Bircher? Does that term refer to something specific other than the general sense of being a member of JBS?
If JBS is an honorable organization, then shouldn't the term "Bircher" be a badge of honor?
...um yeah... what they all
...um yeah... what they all said. :D

Being called a Bircher...
to me is an honor. Just like being called a Ron Paul supporter is an honor. However, many times people, mainly in the MSM, refer to Ron paul supporters in a negative way... because they are against RP and what he stands for. Similarly, people refer to Birchers negatively because they are against the John Birch Society (JBS). The JBS stands for nothing else but freedom and the constitution. Just like Ron Paul. Look into them. They contributed as much to the Revolution as any other group.
Example of smear against JBS: The movie "JFK" by Oliver Stone. There was a character in the movie who was a "Bircher", and he was portrayed as an alcoholic, wife beating bigot. Neo-con Michelle Malkin has bad mouthed the JBS many times. But the JBS is a great organization and Ron Paul believes it too...he will be their keynote speaker on their 50th anniversary.

I don't know how old you are
but in the 50s and 60s it wasn't really popular to be a "Bircher." Why? Because they got the reputation of seeing a communist under every bed. It was just the way it was so it is hard to break that mindset.

well, now there is a communist under every bed and on top of every bed also. How are we going to get the message across that we do not intend to be a communist country.

They also got the label of racist because of there support for States Rights.
