Is this true? Has anyone heard that Ron Paul will use $4 mil of campaign money to start a publishing company?

According to the Houston Chronicle--NB: long an enemy of Ron's--he may use his unspent campaign donations for a unique venture:

"To further Paul's Libertarian-leaning agenda, his campaign is exploring a novel way to use millions of dollars in leftover donations: setting up a for-profit publishing company that would focus on free-market economics and personal liberties — causes the Texas congressman holds dear." Read the Houston Chronicle story.

PS: Such a venture could build on the unprecedented success of The Revolution: A Manifesto.

UPDATE On FOX, more information from Jesse Benton, Ron's spokesman.

What do you all think? This sounds like a way to get the freedom message out.

We all know it was never about the money with him

He risked his life for this message. I trust he will spend the money in a way to continue this Revolution. If you are afraid of what he will do with this money, you don't know Ron Paul yet. I do not second guess this man's intentions. He has way too much honor and will do the right thing for us all.

I read the article

It does not say "he will." It SAYS he is contemplating what to do with the money and that is one of the ideas. Who knows if he even took that idea seriously. But the article starts out with, "Money from his failed campaign." So there ya go. The article discredits itself before it even gets through one sentence.

By the time he spends $3million on infomercials and gets through the November election, President Paul sure may have money left over for a publishing company to strengthen the movement. After all, his funds will be fortified as we go along here and rebuild our momentum for the grand finale. Hail to the Chief, President Paul.

my two cents.....

Ya know what....I am totally in debt to Ron for so many things...I don't care if he did/would take that money for himself. I gave it to him freely to do what ever he thought best...so it is no longer my money to be concerned with. I trust him to do the right thing with it...and that's the end of it for me.

That would be like quitting and that is Bullshit.

I want to see the campaign go all the way to the Convention. Saturday's events in Nevada prove that we have the power to effect change. Now is the time to fight.

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

I'm for it. We need our own

I'm for it. We need our own media and this is the first step and a good backup plan in case what we see in Nevada is the complete RNC response to us.

Thanks for responding

I too hope he spends it winning the Republican nomination and visiting states yet to have their primaries. Thanks for responding!

The links show they are

The links show they are considering it. I would prefer he spends the money campaigning after he wins the Republican nomination at the convention, myself..

A broadcasting Co is even

A broadcasting Co is even better, imagin a channel for liberty 24/365

It's spreading through MSM too

I think Dr. Paul would not do that unless every possible effort for this campaign is exhausted. I'm sure Dr. Paul would tell us what he would do if he decided to not invest in his campaign anymore. I think the media is trying to spread disinfo and discontent amongst the supporters.

People worldwide support Dr. Paul too :-)

Probably just another smear

Probably just another smear tactic against Ron Paul. For all we know, you might be a part of it.

We all know that Ron Paul is a man of principled integrity. I trust that RP would not do anything illegal or unethical in relation to his campaign money.

I doubt campaign funds

could be diverted in this way.
