The One Day I Didn't Wear a Ron Paul Shirt...
Quick background.. I recently moved to a small rural town & joined the county republican party. I was low key about RP till after not being chosen to be a delegate. Since then I wear my RP shirts to all the functions & meetings, even the grocery store.
Saturday my sister & I went to a small festival here in town. She wore a RP shirt, I didn't. We talked to the people at our Rep tent, I am giving the Manifesto to our secretary & she is going to pass it on to the rest of the group. They are none too happy w/Mccain & very open.
This guy comes up & is shaking my sisters hand & saying he is a RP guy too. I was blown away, 4 months I've been here & never seen him before. I high 5 him & he's like another one?? well we were all psyched out as only RP supporters can be when they meet a fellow patriot. The republican party in the tent are all watching grinnning & wanting in on the excitement.
I gave this guy a copy of Freedom to Fascism, a pocket constitution & a personal card w/my info & some quotes about the Fed Reserve. He's impressed & takes it. Say's if it's good we'll show it at the next monthly meeting.
On the ride home my sister is teasing me that I was "hit on"...(hey, i'm a 50 year old granny who is pretty fluffy... ya know, no sign of starvation goin on here).
It's true.... Ron Paul people are attracted to other RP peeps.
I guess this guy asked me if I was married, I never heard him, I was in RP mode ... girls, you know what I'm talkin about. Hehehe
My hubby pops up & says teasingly... "Hey now" and I just giggle & whisper in his ear, "It's ok honey, you know I'm sold out & committed to only one guy... Ron Paul" what a hoot.... he grins & tells me he loves me.
So a few hours later I get a voice mail from this guy, he'd just finished the DVD, was very impressed w/it & wanted to get something going in our county. By the time I called him back he was on his 3rd time watching the movie! Woohoooo. I've given so many away where they NEVER watch it... this was big to me.
Anyway... turns out this guy had been out of town for months so we never saw each other at our local meeting before. He's a retired American History teacher who is writing a book on the war between the states. loves to share his knowledge, and wants to help promote me w/in the gop so I can have as he calls it... influence.
Hubby & I are going to be district chair people and we can talk Ron Paul all we want.
Bigger plans are coming, he is going to help thru our group to get me a place on the delegates thru our state for the national election. He used to write an editorial and is well known here & in my state capital. We are also going to work on a way to educate jurors for fed tax cases.
PS.. this guy NEVER uses the internet, he goes from town to town researching the facts for his book. After I told him about Nevada he may get on the net tho hahaha.
Sooooooooo point is... WEAR your RP shirts every where you go, you just never know who you're gonna meet or what doors they can open for you!

Cute Story
We are never to old to enjoy being 'hit on.' LOL
But, Ron Paul has my heart, for sure. He is my hubby's main competition.

Darn..I don't have an RP
Darn..I don't have an RP shirt, but I have signs out on a main street in town. I noticed a local retirement center was having a "Meet the Candidates" meeting in 2 weeks (local candidates) which I was planning to go to, to see if there were any I would be comfortable to vote for. The more I thought about it, I finally called the coordinator of it and asked if I could set up a little table or something for Ron Paul, even tho he was actually a presidential candidate. She told me to come and SPEAK about him, and let everyone know more about him!!! Sooo...I have a very few slim jims and brochures left and I am gonna go talk about him and the NON differences in the two parties! (This town is almost Democrat to a fault). I really wish I had an RP shirt now.....:)

Email me and I'll make you a teeshirt. It would be my pleasure to be part of your "Meet the candidates" meeting.
My town is totally Dem too. Retirement centers are awesome because those poor people have no one to fight for them when the other 3 quacks finish breaking the bank.
I wear my gear every weekend and sometimes to yoga
I'm in the Los Angeles area, where Republicans tend to keep a low-profile.
It seems like I meet more and more people, at least a couple a day, who give me a thumbs up or ask how Ron Paul is doing. It used to just be the baristas at Starbucks or the clerks at Trader Joe's, but now more people of more age-ranges seem to know of him and approve or are curious.
It can be a great ice-breaker.

Great news
I know what you mean when you encounter a fellow patriot. I have given several DVD's out, hoping that the person will pop it in the DVD player and learn some truth. Hey, you are right, you never know who will cross your path! Thanks for sharing.
