Rolling Thunder 08' idea

Rolling Thunder, the veterans motorcycle group, is set to descend on Washington on Memorial Day weekend. I think that a great idea that we need to look into is the creation of Ron Paul rest stops. At different rest stops about 100 miles apart on the way to Washington we need Ron Paul supporters and Ron Paul vets manning free food and drink stops. It would be somewhere for the vets to stop and stretch their legs and get some food or drink in them, while spreading the message and facilitating a Ron Paul undertone to their descent on Washington. This idea is still in its early stages and I hope to get added ideas from dailypaul members.

Rolling Thunder Support
Our company is providing rider support the day before the event at the west coast kickoff in Adelanto, CA on May 13th. I would recommend that anyone interested in setting up something for your respective state go to www.rollingthunder1.com
look up the state contact, then call them, explain what you would like to do and jump in. Just like volunteering for Dr. Paul, it is as easy as saying you would like to provide support. Just be straightforward. Having copies of the books at the stops would be a great way to spread the word.
Don't forget the air thunder group as well, I believe 4 helos will be escorts for the cross country run.

Just a thought
Kyle, lets get a free book to the organizer of this event. Get them on board with what we are trying to do. They must have members that would be unable to make the May event that could do a July ride. Then we could do the different comfort stations. I think this country needs to unite and soon. If these vets knew Ron Paul as we do they would join the cause.

Lets show them that Ron Paul and his supporters actually care for our veterans. and ask them to join the july12th march. do they have a website detailing the routes they will be taking? post them and we can bring info to our meet-ups

I am really suprised and disappointed
that the protests in DC were not combined with the rolling thunder event.
It was obvious to me that this would be fertile ground for spreading the RP message.
What were the people who organized these DC events thinking?
