Revolution MoneyExchange
Revolution MoneyExchange
April 29th, 2008
There is now a no fee alternative to PayPal available to U.S. bank account holders.
Revolution MoneyExchange allows money transfers between members for free; no fees at all to make or receive electronic payments.
PayPal skims off about 4% in fees (so does Amazon Honor System). Anyone who uses PayPal for transaction clearing just shrugs this off as a cost of doing business…
With MoneyExchange, the recipient receives 100% of what you send. If you run a website, or sell things on eBay or through some other venue, you will receive 100% of the money that your MoneyExchange readers or customers send you.
MoneyExchange is for people who refuse to use PayPal under any circumstances and/or refuse to use credit cards.
If you sign up for a MoneyExchange account, they’ll give you $25. That’s $25 that you can withdraw into your bank account to spend as you please.
Check it out: http://www.revolutionmone...
If you decide that you would like to get $25 for signing up, you can sign up via ronpaulaudio and they’ll credit me with a $10 commission. (That’s $25 to you and $10 to me (up to a $600 cap.)
I am currently trying to raise funds to pay the Hosting fees to keep ronpaulaudio.com as a reference audio library available to all. This seems like a good way (great way) to do it.
If that sounds good to you, just click the referral link below to get started.

There are lots of individuals and organizations out there who are doing very good work and could use $25. Revolution MoneyExchange is backed by billionaires and venture capital firms who are willing to pay out this money in an attempt to take on PayPal.
For the moment, you can get $25 from these people for essentially no effort on your part, and re-purpose that money for some good purpose. I know, most people will buy gas or food for themselves, because those things are getting more expensive by the day. But, if you’re so inclined, consider seeking out and sending some or all of your free $25 to the Ron Paul campaign....... imagine if all of us did.

Seriously bad news
The hair started rising on the back of my neck when they asked for previous address. When they demanded my social and claimed that they were doing what was required by the Patriot Act basically, that's when I hit cancel. I will not be going with any service like that. Anonymous is better.
unfortunately
Fortune Favors the Bold
the patriot act requires all new accounts to be "registered." This isn't shady on their part.
Yeah, and if you apply for a
Yeah, and if you apply for a credit card that was offered to you and sent to your PO box the Patriot Act requires a physical address. This was noted in a recent Bank of America CC offer I received...TODAY!

your choice... always!
absolutely your choice m3talsmith and I can respect it.... thanks anyway.
This is voluntary of course and I don't want individuals to do anything that freaks them.
My point is that this new moneyexchange is no WORSE than Paypal (or any other banker thing) in requiring "papers please".
I personally like the idea of using the system's money to use it against them. I try to get as much of the money they've taken BACK on my side of the fence (like Ron Paul earmarking the taxes taken from his district while still opposing taxes).
In any case.... let us act (and not just talk!) Cheers.

no problem..... I repaired/edited the post and backed off the line dashes. Thanks for the tip.
Much thanks to the 20 people
Much thanks to the 20 people who cut through the crap and took advantage of this to support rpaudio and put $25 in their pocket for the effort. Fund the Revolution with it!

Ron Paul's New Book, The Revolution: A Manifesto
Posted April 30, 2008
U.S. News and World Report
He's back—though GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul never really left. (See his showing in the Pennsylvania primary, where, against presumed nominee John McCain, he picked up nearly 16 percent of the vote despite having effectively suspended his campaign months ago.)
Today, Paul's book, The Revolution: A Manifesto, is officially released and it's already zoomed to No. 8 on Amazon's bestseller list and is the top-selling political book. The Texas congressman is using today's launch to urge his fervent supporters to continue their libertarian "revolution."
In a message to supporters this morning, Paul says that the rest of American has "underestimated you," and urged them to descend on book stores to pick up "what my friends are calling..."Ron Paul's legacy."'
What he's also looking for are book proceeds, of course, to "fuel our revolution for a long time to come."
I have closed all my bank accounts
and will probably never open another one. The options for fast payments for people like me are very limited but I do not care. I will NOT support those who intend to enslave or starve my children, whichever proves to be more expedient.
THE BANKS CAN STICK IT UP THEIR ASSES, I'M NOT PLAYING
'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'
Thank you
8 people have signed up:
so that's
You: $200.00
rpaudio: $ 80.00
Bankers: -$280.00
Thanks 4 helping
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS
A few weeks ago I was domain hunting and I wanted to register www.revolution.com, the site was owned and operated by Steve Case of AOL. I thought "what a waste of a perfectly good domain name" and moved on. Now with the rumors of this Revolution MoneyExchange being run by Steve Case I believe it. Do not sign up for this. This has nothing to do with Ron Paul or our freedom revolution.
It turns out he is also getting into the health care business: http://www.revolutionheal...
Funny you should say that
I was one of 5 developers for the Lime project through his revolution health company. It's a cable station too.
Good times back then ... and now too I guess.
Good Lord.....one source....
Good Lord.....one source.... why don't you READ before you comment?
Nobody has said anything about this being connected to Ron Paul or our Revolution!!!!!!!!! (OMG)
to Angela
Thanks Angela.... it registered.
btw... these are just bankers competing with other bankers.... absolutely NO connection to anything Libertarian.
We will probably see the word "Revolution" tacked on to deodorant some day.
All the best.... and enjoy their money!
Thanks for your support.

I thought I would report to
I thought I would report to this thread what's happened so far...
When I go to "my account" at the moneyexchange site,
the initial $25 shows as a "pending" deposit.... I clicked to "accept" it and it
immediately posted as deposited into the account.
3 referrals have now appeared as "pending" deposits of $10 each.
waiting for me to "accept" them. There is no reference as to who they are.
So I guess I'll just give you my thanks here on the thread.
I treat the referral credits as a chip-in and use it for www.ronpaulaudio.com
Your $25 can be used for whatever.... like 2 copies of The Manifesto to give away?... whatever
This is all wrong
> To become an accountholder, you must complete the account
> registration and pass the identity verification measures.
Wrong. Cash is anonymous, and there is no reason why electronic cash cannot be also. Chaumian ecash makes this possible, and anything less is simply not acceptable. Who I am is none of your business. Its my money, and that has nothing to do with you, the service provider.
> All accountholders must be a citizen or resident alien of the United
> States (U.S.) with a valid U.S. taxpayer identification number.
This is absolute nonsense. What it means is that I cannot transact with other people without having a number issued to me by the government. It is completely bogus and anti-libertarian.
I fear that many businesses are going to spring up with the prefix 'Revolution' and that none of these enterprises will have anything to do with the Revolution or with libertarianism. In order to be free, you cannot, when you transact financially, be compelled to have an uninvited third party (the government) looking over your shoulder or participating in any way. I don't care what the law says, the law is an ass, and should be disobeyed when it comes to this. This company is a bogus, bandwagon jumping snake-oil operation. Period.
> Revolution MoneyExchange Accountholders may not receive $600 or
> more in compensation in any one calendar year from special
> promotional programs sponsored by Revolution Money Inc.
Just like PayPal, they, from the off, start by putting arbitrary restrictions on what you can and cannot do with your influence and money. If I have a blog with 500,000 readers and I manage to get 25,000 of them to open accounts, why should I not receive the full amount that is due to me?
Welcome to the future of money, where not only are you bound to always have a third party (actually, a fourth when you consider that you cannot transact without the service provider) interfering in your private business, but where you are restricted to how much you can earn and how much you can spend. It is a most unnatural and anti freedom service, to be sure.
> Void where prohibited.
Yeah, Right.
'Services' like this should always be shunned. They destroy your liberty, reduce the value of cash and further inure the youth of the world to the foul practices of debt, indenture and outright slavery.
The fact that the owners of this sham company seem to be ex AOL executives should say it all for you; AOL, the most mind numbingly poor online service, notorious for its bad service, lock in of its users and other myriad 'worst of class' features defines for many the word 'evil' when it comes to Internet Service Providers. That they have the gall to try this is no surprise. That they use the word 'Revolution' to try and sell it is nauseating.
It's high time that a truly free, libertarian online system of exchange, based on the principles of the Tally Stick and the Colonial Scrip and the Guernsey Pound, powered by Chaumian Ecash was brought online to finally demolish these freedom destroying 'services'.
The "Revolution" name is
The "Revolution" name is kind of unfortunate..... it has no connection to our movement or anything Libertarian..... it's just Bankers doing a "banking thing" launching and competing with another "banking thing" (Paypal). That's all it's about.
The $25 is a promotional. They're trying to launch this thing and are putting up money (until May 15th) to do it.
The "no fees" thing was how Paypal first started out... they made their money on the funds resting in the accounts between transactions.
The $25 registers in the account. They post 2 small deposits into your "funding account" to make sure you and your bank account are "real"..... just like Paypal.
After that, you can withdraw the $25 to your own bank or whatever.
That's all I'm going to do..... and then just watch and see what happens to their success or failure.
Who owns this...I don't care who's on the board
As long as ownership is by a solid Liberty person, or a group of Liberty minded individuals and they are not being backed by someone controlling them it may be worth a shot. Imagine a place where we can exhange funds and do chip-in's without have to lose money on fees.
This would be great for anyone running for office as a Ron Paul revolutionary so they don't have to deal with fees, etc..
However, I do recommend that we proceed with caution...as is good advice for any idea.
Be free,
Cico
Look before you Leap
Uh, careful folks - take a look at who is involved with this:
Board of Directors
Ted Leonsis,
Chairman
Vice Chairman, AOL; Owner, Washington Capitals
Steve Case
Chairman, Revolution LLC; Co-Founder, AOL; Former Chairman, AOL Time Warner
David Golden
CFO, Revolution LLC; Former Vice Chairman, J.P. Morgan
...
If you are not OUTRAGED, you're not paying attention!
My god, are you certain
My god, are you certain those are the owners? Looks like another way to get our info on their "books". I hate Paypal fees, too, but I have used them for 15 years, and attest to their security and fairness. I will leave them the moment I am certain otherwise, tho..
low fees are nice... but
low fees are nice so this new service intrigues me, but the requirement of a taxpayer is not good for privacy concerns, however that is likely only needed for receiving the $25.. but i remember paypal doing the same thing when they started but they didn't require giving ssn or taxpayer id (granted it was before the "anti-money laundering" bills passed after 9/11).
i would imagine you don't need to give that info if not accepting the 25$, and in that case this may be a good alternative to paypal. the more competition the better although a cautious approach is always a good idea.
also paypal is only 10 years old (it was founded in 1998).
