If anyone had the brains they would quit screwing around and organize the biggest mass support gathering for the GOP convention. And I mean every single last Ron Paul supporter that has 2 legs goes and surround the convention and make those antiquated GOP neocon supporting asswipes piss their pants for fear of their lives and demand that they cut loose that sack of manure McCain and rally around Ron Paul against whatever Dem is nominated. Has to be at least one million people enough to paralyze movement for miles around the convention. No need to grovel for a permit or to be herded into a "protest zone" like they have already arranged.Done the same move in my hometown when the city father saw fit to try force water meters on private property wells that were dug and paid for property owners to try to make us pay for our own water. You should have seen the look of fear on their faces in the hall,priceless and yeah they backed off. This could be done at the convention. But you say "But I might get arrested or someone might get hurt" if thing were to get out of hand.So what over a million Iraqi's have been killed for naught,not to mention all of our troops and we will be fortunate if the George& Dick show don't fire up things in Iran.Look at the havoc this Admin has done to our inherent rights with crap like the "Patriot Act", Fisa, the hundreds of lies to go to war.Look at what the media has done to Ron Paul at the debates, and also all the shit the GOP is pulling state by state.They have taken away our vote with electronic machines proven to be faulty and easily rigged.No but were probably going to roll over and take it up the wazoo and beg for a kiss afterward because this country is sick from the inside out and is probably too far gone because there are not many real men left here in the good ol USA,but there might be a remnant big enough. Do you for one second think that any of the founders would have put up with any of this crap?
Dubya would have either been impeached or hung at the first major act of treason if they had any say in things.McCain cannot win against the dems, no if's and or buts and if Rons not in the position we are screwed and there won't be enough time to turn things around 4 years later. By 2012 our economy will have collapsed and this country will be over with.

You do realize that in that building will be a huge majority of the federal elected officials and a large majority counties state elected officials and alot of the local elected officials and you think your going to get close enough to touch the building. Come on lets get back to reality here. It would be nice to think we could go up and be heard by the people in the building so our voice could be heard but it will never happen. Think clearly here. How many people have you heard of that won a war by sacrificing 1 life for 0 lifes. War is a numbers game also this is not a hot revolution. Everyone needs to just slow down and keep focused on what we are doing. stop looking at the glass as half empty when it is half full. We are making progress don't undo all the progress 1 million people have worked hard to achieve. Think about it 1 year ago I was a democrate. clueless about almost all of this stuff. Ron Paul has went from one guy all alone in the middle of a bunch of evil not ever being heard then he has gotten 1 million people to vote for him to be their president now hes a freaking celebrity doing book signings. Think of all the people we are going to touch going forward. We are growing so fast these wicked people are scared and not even sure what to do with us. I personaly don't think protesting even touches these people anymore we have lost that tool we have to face that. We can survive without it for a time i don't know how long but remember we are fighting for the Just War Theory. It is very important that to the masses it is plain they have struck first and we are defending ourselves. Of coures that comes with some loss but that is what we advocate. We must pratice what we preach we must show patience. We must show we truely believe what we say. A good thing to remember "don't fire till you see the whites of their eyes". I also agree we need to start getting to know each other more personaly. The internet is all that ties us together and that can go away with a flip of the switch. The good thing about this whole movement is we know we are not alone. We are many.

Rage Against the Machine did a protest concert in front of the DNC in 2000. They had tens of thousands of people in attendance... all of them "awake" to our problems. Many were anarchists who had no problem getting arrested or shot at.
What happened?
They got arrested and shot at. On the news they blew it off as a bunch of crazy anarchists who "support terrorism" and were "anti-family".

I agree. Join the rep committees, run for office, etc. and start having rational debates with people. I'm not going to go get arrested and have the idiots on Fox compare me to Moveon dot org. I'm a Republican damnit. We need to play the game and outsmart the fools by winning hearts and minds of the people. I don't think there is anything wrong with protesting, but someone is going to get violent and I bet they will try and blame it on us. The administration are the violent ones who start wars, but the tide is turning on them and we need to ride this out and keep plugging away with our message.

but we need a system in place to communicate if the internet is suddenly disconnected. Phone banks through meetups maybe. Anything is possible if we start making traction.

I think a thread should definitely be started. It is a practical question and it would be prudent to have a plan in place. I just think that if our organization skills continues to make a dent, then someone may be interested in putting a stop to it. There is already an assault on online Poker. be the ones to initiate violence or even goad them into it. I don't think that violence against us is very far off, given what we've been able to accomplish so far. But as soon as they use violence against us, it will be over for them.

any "plants" try to start anything physical we immediately surround them and make them chill and/or initiate a citizens arrest if the even make a fast body motion or bend over to pick up a pebble to throw.

Even if you had over 10,000 like they did at the concert... it won't even be a blip on the news. The protest at the RATM concert got a short clip on the nightly news and that was it... and there was violence and arrests.
We won't be able to get near the convention without going over the fence... which will bring on the pepper spray... and the rubber bullets... and the mounted officers with sticks.
The only problem is...

Rage Against the Machine put on a protest concert at the 2000 DNC to protest our "fake democracy". They had about 10,000 people show up, some anarchists... some just protestors... some just wanting to see the free concert.

They had several hundred... if not more than a thousand police officers there... with pepper spray, rubber bullets and sticks to beat people with.

Great concert, great music (if you like driving, hip-hop arachist music like me), and great violence.
Watching the concert, and the protestors afterwards kind of made me realize something. We have to ALL be willing to make a stand. Looking at the police, they were well-numbered, and well-armed. Looking at the protestors, they were much better numbered, but not as well armed. They didn't have weapons like the police. Many of them had gas masks to protect them from pepper spray, but that's about the extent of their defense against their oppressors.
The media portrayed them to be anti-family, pro-terrorist... when I would say the majority of the protestors were just pissed at our democratic process.
The media also acted like the protest wasn't that big of a deal.
But... one thing I did notice... at no time did the crowd try to take on the police in number. Only a few protestors were williing to stand their ground. Most of them got beat down.
Watching the concert, and looking at the 10,000 people on one side of the fence... and the 1,000 cops on the other side... I couldn't help but think to myself... what if these people decided they wanted to knock the fence down and storm the convention...
Would the cops be able to stop them?
Without breaking out the real guns? Would they stoop to that level?
What would happen?
How would it be portrayed in the media at that point?
I don't advocate violence. I'm not an anarchist, but a pro-life libertarian like Dr. Paul, but I do think the time for playing nice is over. They are violating our God-given rights as humans on this earth... how long are we going to take it?
We're trying to do something politically... and really I think we're doing a lot of good with the delegates and the take-overs of the republican parties in different cities and counties all over the U.S.
But somewhere along the line... at the rate things are moving... we have to do more. We have to grab people's attention.
But... that's the hard part. With the msm on their side, they can make us out to be the enemy. Fox News will call us un-American, pro-terrorist nutcases.
Frustrating.
But, hey...
I'm in. Whatever we need to do. I'll be there. We just need to make sure it's organized. We have to make sure we have a goal and that we know how far we're willing to go to acheive that goal. And we have to stick together.

I will say it again, we surround the convention hall as close as possible (leaning against the walls would be fine) peacefully demanding in an extremely loud vocal uproar continually demanding McCain be removed and then a motion to vote to support Ron Paul.
After all is this not a Revolution to take back OUR country?

A 12 foot high fence with concrete blockades... fencing in the "free speech zone".
We will not be able to get close to the convention without inciting voilence. They will say that we don't have the right to protest that close to the convention.
Granted, at the RATM concert, the protestors were aggravating the police by throwing rocks, bottles and the like... but they still stayed on their side of the fence until the protest was called an "illegal" protest... in which case the police came around to the other side of the fence and started beating people away.
It's a crazy world we live in... I just don't see how we're really supposed to protest anything and really get anyone's attention... without being beat up.

and media from sabatoging the event. Staging an event that could give RP a cycle of bad press is child's play for Carl Rove and his bunch.

Easy to say for You. I am being forced to take the Real ID in May due to my job. I work offshore and to keep all You guys safe I have to get a Real ID. I have to tone what I say down because at any moment at the flick of a keyboard my job is finished. I guess thats power huh being able to flick a key and someones house is gone, family is gone, job is gone, car is gone, clothes are gone, & instantly a bum on the street. I personally think this is way to much power for one government parasite worker to have. I am very afraid for the future of this country and my life. I really think the mark is on its way and to be honest I will take a bullet before I take that. On one hand You starve if You don't take it. On the other hand You live but instantly goto Hell for taking the chip. I really don't know how thats a fair trade. I do not work on a rig and I am a sub sub contractor meaning I am the only guy in my company on whatever vessel I am out of 60 - 80 men. Out of the whole vessel there is probably only 3 people that care or know whats going on so I can not refuse unless I quit my 100k a year job and go work at MceeDee's. I don't think it will be as easy as that and in the future it can mean loosing everything You hold dear. I consider this a very SERIOUS issue and its an invasion of my privacy. Also whats pathetic is how many terrorist came in from a crew boat off of a drilling rig or barge in the gulf of mexico. You have millions of pleasure boatman a year that enjoy the gulf but they are not going to be hassled. I do not think its for security like they say its for control and its for POWER.
