A Write in campaign will not work!!!!!!!

I've heard a lot of people saying they will write-in Ron Paul this fall if he isn't on the ballot.

You all need to understand:

Electoral college: to win, you must have delegates.

The only way to get delegates is to get on the ballot.

If you want a choice other than (D) or (R) you must have a 3rd party candidate on the ballot this fall.

When Ron Paul spoke at Indiana University of PA (4/3/08), he said that he hopes a viable 3rd party candidate will step up, to continue the revolution in that direction.

Chuck Baldwin endorsed Ron Paul earlier, and would step out of the race if Ron Paul were nominated. Please help him get ballot access.

If you are in a place where you can still get delegates elected for Ron Paul, do that. Otherwise, we need to get to work to have a choice this fall.

(and just so you know, I've worked hard in this campaign. now that my states' delegate selection process is over, I'm on to other issues)

You're absolutely right.

You're absolutely right.

Write in votes will not accomplish a thing. You may as well write "Ron Paul" on a piece of tissue paper with a pen and flush it down the toilet.

It's a nice sentiment but it achieves nothing. If Ron Paul isn't the GOP nominee, I'm voting Third Party. I hope in that case Dr. Paul will accept a position on the top of a Third Party ticket.

we need to be working in 2 directions

the first is to take mcCain down legally and professsionally then Paul is on the ticket.

Sign petitions, digg antiMcCain posts, support the dems in their effort (once they quit fighting each other) to smear McCain. I really believe McCain will get in trouble for something and McCain will be done in.

We wont have to worry about write in's or delegates. It's the total solution.

The second is investing in the third party candidate as you have stated.

Please post this:

Chuck Baldwin's speech after being nominated Presidential candidate of the Constitution Party 2008 (lots of RP mentions!):

and also

if they are dishonest enough to rig diebold machine, they dishonest enough to "lose" your paper ballot

Stop writing this crap

Remember, the average American, when exposed to a piece of informtion 9 times, will come to believe it, whether true or not.

Saying a write in campaign won't work becomes a self fulfilling prophecy in this sense.

So cut it out.

If you want to write in Ron Paul, write him in. If, between now and November, a suitable 3rd party candidate emerges, then support him/her if you want.

If you have an opinion about what will or will not work, express it. But stating it as a forum topic like it's a fact is deceptive and counter-productive.

OK???

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

We're not average Americans

That's why we're here....

Just because you believe it to be so

does not make it so.

There are several states that will not except a write in. Mine included. We have to make a plan that works and Chuck Baldwin is the perfect answer.
Why disenfranchise 1000's of voters in my state and in several others that can't vote a write in? We have to make our vote count to change things in Washington. We have to vote the best choice, and if it's not Ron Paul, it will have to be Baldwin, he is THE NEXT BEST THING TO RP!
Wake-up.

did you read my info?

A write-in could work for any race except president, because of the electoral college delegates.

I wish I had a transcript of what Ron Paul said at Indiana University of PA. If you agree with Ron Paul, you wouldn't call this C@#$. He said it long before I started talking about it here.

I recently ran a write-in campaign for state Rep. (on the back of my campaign literature was the local delegate list, so I was distributing that at the same time). About 300 to 600 voters indicated that they intended to vote for me. I got less than 75 write-in votes.

Agreed. There are lot of

Agreed. There are lot of people in this revolution who are full of wishful thinking with no knowledge of the political system.

A write-in campaign is not a "plan". It's a farewell to a candidate who has lost.

Uhhhh....The state delegates go to the winner of the state

It's got nothing to do with the parties. They wasn't any such thing as a political party when the Electoral College was created. A bigger problem is how do you 'write in' with an electronic voting machine?

Did YOU read my response?

Every statement within it is still true. Read it again and think about what I said.

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

how would a write-in candidate get delegates

to the electoral college?

In Pennsylvania...

you have to write in the names of the 21 electoral college people..... in the space that is so small, you would be lucky to fit TWO names in.......

In other words, it is impossible........ in Pennsylvania....

I have no idea.

Why don't you tell me how and we'll both know.

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

I don't believe a write-in candidate can get EC delegates.

that's what I'm trying to say in this post.

So your assertion is based on a belief?

Throw me some facts, bubba. Starving down here in Logicville, where we like to base our decisions on FACTS.

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

Don't care

If Ron Paul does not get the nomination in September, I am writing him in. It is not about getting "counted." He is the right man. I choose him. What does liberty care about the Republirats and Democrans?

a 3rd party candidate endorsed by RP

would do quite well. please re-read what Ron told us at IUP about a 3rd party candidate.

a 3rd party candidate endorsed by RP would.......

split the ticket and give it to the bitch or hussain

There is no such thing as

There is no such thing as "splitting tickets". There are only winners and losers.

Better either of them than McAnus

Some have proposed that you vote for the Greater Evil on the premise that he/she won't be able to get anything done in congress. There is no doubt that McAnus is the greater evil, but what I am afraid he will do doesn't involve congress. If you can't vote for RP, vote for Hillary. Republicans hate her. She won't be able to do squat. She's an unprincipled, manipulative, emasculating bitch, but not as likely to start WWIII as McAnus.
