Today is an exciting day for our campaign and our movement: my new book, The Revolution: A Manifesto, is officially released.
Although a short book, it is the product of many years of thought and action. It is a defense of the principles to which you and I have devoted our lives.
My friends are calling it "Ron Paul's legacy."
These principles - individual liberty, sound money, the Constitution, and the foreign policy of the Founding Fathers - have had no home in American politics for a very long time. With The Revolution: A Manifesto, I'm letting the establishment know we're not going away.
Finally, Americans can hear and judge these great American principles for themselves, instead of through an unfriendly media filter. And they can learn once and for all that they need not be satisfied with the phony choices the system offers them every four years. Another way really is possible.
Two days ago I did a book signing in New York at the Borders on Wall Street. All 530 copies had been sold before I even arrived.
They had underestimated you again.
Imagine the attention our cause and our principles could attract with a fantastic opening day today, with people marching into bookstores across the country for their copies. If it should become a publishing phenomenon, The Revolution: A Manifesto can fuel our revolution for a long time to come. You can make that happen.
I hope you enjoy this book, which was a real labor of love for me. Please spread the word.

Mine arrived from Amazon by mail two days ago
only I must have ordered the audio cd version instead of the book. It was serendipitous good fortune because I had a six-hour road trip for work yesterday (3 hours down, 3 hours back) and I was able to listen to the entire book.
Next phase of the revolution has begun.
The revolution to restore our constitution and our liberties will not be stopped ---we the people deserve better than what we are getting .
This book is awesome and sticks a fork into the establishment.

Selling Out in Stores - Well Done Everyone!
First, I got my book about a week ago and had it signed on Monday. The Wall Street signing was phenomenal. I went out to my local Borders tonight to pick up 2 more gift copies and they were all sold out! I guess I'll wait a few days and then order from Amazon.
Also, I keep seeing someone's tag that says, "what have you done today?" Well, today I taught a coworker from Miami all about Ron Paul.
Yesterday I taught a NJ coworker about Ron Paul.
On Monday, on the way to the signing, I taught a woman on the street in NYC about Ron Paul.
Ron Paul has changed the way I feel about politics and government to the extent that I feel obligated to share his wisdom with others. To all the skeptics, you have to believe.
Remember, nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. We have it so we really can change the country.
Outstanding Book
I have almost finished reading it. Very well laid out and logical. I was most impressed by the discussion of the war on drugs. Dr. Paul shows his intellectual range by quoting St. Thomas Aquinas as well as some contemporary thinkers such as Thomas Sowell. Made me think and modify my views on this subject. Outstanding work, Dr. Paul. I am getting copies for my family and friends and recommending it to my coworkers. This is required reading for any voter.

Buy An Extra Copy ...
If each person bought an extra copy of Dr. Paul's book and sent it to one of their Senators or Congressmen, do you think they would begin to get the message? Would they stop seeing us as side show freaks and see that we want REAL CHANGE?
Maybe they would start to understand that we want to restore our Liberties, Constitution, and Self Worth!

Just bought
two copies from the Mises store. My local Books-A-Million didn't have it, but they could order it, I said no. I generally like to support local businesses, but I didn't want to order it, they should have it in stock. Maybe others in town will request it and maybe they will get some in stock.
Ron Paul Interview
Ron was on QFM 96 in Columbus Oh today. The hosts mentioned The Manifesto several times and praised the content. The interview was well done and the hosts expressed their respect and admiration for RP. Thanks to Wags & Elliot for for the exposure.

So where are all the proceeds from these massive book sales going? Ideally, a portion should go back into spreading his message, that would be consistent with what Ron Paul stands for. I believe in the absence of any public declaration of where the proceeds are going, his motivations are murky, and his letter potentially reads like he's selling you a "get-rich-quick" ebook.
I have no doubt he wrote this book to forward his ideas, not to make money, but I wonder how consistent he actually is if he is not pouring the proceeds into forwarding his ideas as well, because don't kid yourself, he's making a lot of money on this book.

Ron Paul's Motivations are Murky? Get rich quick book? Are you fucking insane?
If you have no doubt he wrote this book to forward his ideas - not to make money- wouldnt it make sense to get as many as people to buy it as possible - in other words, TO SPREAD THE IDEAS via the book?
What if he spent a portion of the money earned on promoting the book? Is that because he wants more book sales and more $ or because he wants more people to read the book and be exposed to his ideas? What exactly is the complaint here? Totally confused here.

Did YOU write the book....NO...so what business is it of yours what he does with the proceeds? This is Ron Pauls book and he deserves whatever proceeds come from it and it is no ones business to say what he should do with the money! Its Ron Paul for gawds sakes! He is the most principled man I have ever known about! Practically his whole lifes work has been fighting for liberty for this country and its people. I cant believe you even have the nerve....
What he has given me...
What I have spent in my personal and my financial contributions, pale in comparison too what he has given me. I don't care if he packs up and goes too a sunny tropical island and parties all night long. Its up too me now to act, with what I have acquired from the fine Dr., I thank you for your interest though. "Onward" >>>>
He Should Do a YouTube
I'm sure he is putting at least some of it into his nonprofit foundation, and if that's the case, he should say so in a YouTube about the book.
Whatever money the book makes, though (and authors earn far less than almost anyone realizes), the book itself will have a much, much greater effect in what it will do to form the minds of Americans than the money it earns could do. It seems to me we should be focusing on appreciating and understanding the strategic value of such a book for the future of this movement.
I read his letter as coming from a man who's excited about another chance for his message to get out, and who believes it can resonate with the public if only they have a chance to see it.
Dr. Paul is already financially very comfortable, for heaven's sake.

You're right, I think he believes his book will resonate if only people get a chance to read it. I think it'd be interesting then, instead of donating some of the proceeds to a non-profit, if he put it into a fund that would buy copies of the book to put into libraries, or among groups of people who haven't heard of Ron Paul. Plus there'd be a small trickle down effect (the profits buy another book, which generate more profits to eventually buy another book, whcih generate more to eventually buy another book, etc). That way, the more successful the book is, the more distribution the book gets. Another way to grow the message besides bestseller lists.
And publicaly state this in a Youtube too as you suggested.

I pr-ordered mine at Amazon, got it on 4/26/08. I took the book and CD version format too 100 Broadway in NY on 4/28/08 for the book signing. I bought another book at Borders just to make sure they let me in line. They sold out of the books, people were running to nearby bookstores to get them, so Ron coud sign them, one guy was even offering $60 for a copy. The Publisher or someone, underestimated the demand but they did sell out, way short of what was needed at the signing. I took the Opportunity to pass out 80 DVD's, the one with all Ron's debate appearances and tv show interviews. The one that starts off with the song "Bye Bye miss american pie" soundtrack. I could go on.... Things are happening people, stay informed and spread the message... :_)

This is done purposely for certain genre books, in my experience. The buzz of being 'sold-out' creates more awareness and action and sells more books of course. Exciting.

I was the knucklehead with all the RP buttons, shirt and hat, giving out the DVD's in line upstairs in Borders®. It was cool, was it not!
