Question about *IF* Ron Paul runs as an Independent...
If the good doctor does run as an Independent, does that change much in relation to campaign finance laws? Is it considered a separate bid all together meaning those who reached their donation limit previously can donate again (imagine the money bombs we could do!!)? Or do the limits still hold out?

Two campaigns, two campaign pots
One pot of cash is for the primary race; another pot is for the general election. So yes, if he makes it to the general election, everyone who is maxed out can donate again! yay!
Good to know. Thanks a lot!

Others will know the answer to what you asked...
I think the important thing here is that not only has the Doc said there is as close to no chance as one can come for him to run as a non-Republican, but I see in his face that he just does not want to.
Okay thanks! I'm hoping
Okay thanks! I'm hoping someone will know. I tried looking but its hard to clear through all the legal-speka.
Yeah, I understand that Dr. Paul has almost ruled out that he won't run as anything but a Republican. I don't think it would be wise to run as a 3rd party candidate at all. I think that one is completely out of the question. But an Independent run *might* be feasible depending on the campaign finance rules (and its not a "traitorous" as running for a different party would be)
