A LEADING scientist has warned a new species of "humanzee," created from breeding apes with humans, could become a reality unless the government acts to stop scientists experimenting.
In an interview with The Scotsman, Dr Calum MacKellar, director of research at the Scottish Council on Human Bioethics, warned the controversial draft Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill did not prevent human sperm being inseminated into animals.
"The Human Fertilisation and Embryo Bill prohibits the placement of animal sperm into a woman The reverse is not prohibited. It's not even mentioned. This should not be the case."

Every snowflake I have ever seen was "order" (hexagonal crystal) created by physical laws out of "chaos" (atmospheric water vapor).
I see the magnificence of creation probably just as much as anyone, but I don't necessarily feel the need to invoke a metaphysical being as the creator. I have no answer for how the universe began, and I suspect that no human ever will ---- some things are inherently beyond our comprehension, just like my dog could never understand how a motor works. It's like trying to contemplate infinity.

havn't seen th story of Oliver the humanzee. I'm sure they have it on youtube.lol It was a good story, and who knows. Oh I just remembered reading stories of Hitler trying to make them too. There are so many unusual stories out there, it's all a fun read. Neaderthals I think if I emember right were incountered by Alexander the great duing one of his treks I think towards India..All I can say is have fun doing research. Man I get off topic without much effort. Ok I'm going back to reading the internet news.

But I had heard two versions of that story, one was that when he was tested the first time it showed he was a mutant chimp, then he was tested in the US and it showed him to be a chimp, and people were saying the chimp they tested didn't resemble Oliver. so all in all an interesting story.
Two different species cannot create an egg...
unless you're willing to admit that humans and chimps are so close in DNA that perhaps that would work. Maybe evolution is not such a far fetched idea after all???

Two different species can create an egg if they're closely related, and that egg can grow to maturity.
The defining factor is the hybrid's ability to reproduce. You can cross a donkey with a horse, you get a mule...but that mule is sterile, so donkeys and horses remain seperate species.
Another example is a liger...pretty much my favorite animal ;)

The THEORY of evolution
Is for species, so maybe, and maybe not. I think where people go crazy is when they try and say evolution explains creation. Which is does not, not even close. Show me one instance where creation is explained with facts and not THEORY. I'll take God over scientific theory any day.

But in the story, the Human/Chimp hybrids were kept as pets and were very useful around the house as they could be trained to do many tasks. I do believe that such a thing in reality would be an abomination. It brings to mind tales of Iraq's Sumerian past as told by author Zechariah Sitchin of how beings from another world descended upon our earth and needing great multitudes of slave labor to complete their mission here, created a hybrid between early humanoid life, and themselves, which resulted in US.

Honestly, it's probably not going to be possible with chimps. Chimps have an extra chromosome, which is beyond our reach right now to get around. You could theoretically impregnate one with the other, but the possibility of it being even viable enough to grow just isn't there.

This is true...and its highly dangerous...Would this thing be "Human"?...its scary. They talk of using these creatures for organ donations. These creatures are half human correct? and you want to kill them for organs...this brings some huge ethical questions into play. I firmly beleive such a creature would have some level of human intelegence. This needs banned...though oddly i would love to see what one would look like...

AIDS did jump species from one animal to a human, but it was not from any of our close relatives. This was a commonly held belief for many years, but it's been disproven as totally impossible.
Basically...for a species to act as the host of a virus before jumping species, it would have to have antibodies for that virus. The antibodies have been looked for in all apes, and never found.
More likely, it came from an insect bite or parasite of some sort, not from somebody getting lonely in the jungle.

Aids is a scam on par w/the all the other scams. The "virus" is absolutely harmless and Dr. Peter Duseberg from UC Berkley proved this for me.
There are over 100 retro-viruses in the same family or chain HIV being one of them and the worst you can get from any of them is a mild flu like symptom before your body puts it into check by creating anti-bodies. Thats why they test for anti-bodies,because they can very rarely find live virus at any stage.Anti-bodies is the key word in this whole farce.
In order for a virus to kill you the viral load has to be so great that is literally
suffocates your system (think pneumonia). In fact they can rarely even find one live virus in people that die of "Aids".
The virus also does not pass Koch's Postulates, something if you were not sleeping in High school science you would know. It is the "acid test for disease causation and it has to pass 4 criteria to be proven the causative agent and it does not pass 1 of them.
The virus has been found in blood samples dating back to the 1950s and the Aids acronym "acquired immune deficiency syndrome" can be found in the Merke Medical Manual from the 1950s.
It boils down to this : if you are found to be HIV positive, jump for joy BECAUSE YOU ARE IMMUNE to it now and the proof in the pudding is the anti-bodies detected..............................

Yes...the HIV virus has failed to kill a single person...but people with HIV are dying of many things, Karposi's Sacanoma, pneumonia, lots of other things. What kills HIV patients is not the HIV infection itself, but the depressed immune response.
Read Koch's postulates more carefully...it requires first that a healthy person be infected with a disease on purpose (any volunteers?) and that person be cured. There is no cure, so it's impossible to pass Koch's postulates for causality. It's an antiquated system meant more for bacterial infections than viral. I wasn't sleeping in high school, I actually wrote my (college) senior thesis on Koch's Postulates for causality and how it's an outdated method. Has the common cold passed Koch's Postulates? How about influenza?
