OK some people asked for value-added contributions. If a "tight" labour market is "good" (meaning that "someone" has to make it tight -- what about "someone"-controlled domestic population control?), then a "tighter" would be better. Less workers, more riches. Very few workers, plenty for all. Fantastic. Let's break some windows, we'll be better off.

In fact, this theory disputes the fact that every added job complements and expands all the others (short-term displacements do happen, it's called 'creative destruction'), and forwards the theory that added capital (human capital) is deterimental to the creation of value, wealth and prosperity. Truly remarkable and bright intellectual proposition.

Of course, it also argues that there are "optimums". Nevermind the fact that this is social engineering. What defies factual evidence is that any 'optimum' is always pushed further by technology and civilization advancements. Today we can sustain more population than a hundred years ago because we are more productive. And we are more productive as a consequence of the wealth generated by increasing population - a process which provides very healthy incentives to provide that which populations need.

Controlling immigration can be politically justified in order fight the welfare state more efficiently - by not letting new entitlements come to be. Controlling immigration in order to preserve the "health of national economy" or whatever doublespeak you favour, my friends, that's socialist to its core.

A good video, most people think only illegal immigration is the problem, and legal immigration can never be a problem no matter how high.
Some people seem to be forgetting, even though the traditional libertarian position might be unlimited and unrestricted immigration(but no welfare), Ron Paul does not fall in line with ALL traditional libertarian views, and I'm glad because I don't agree with unlimited and unrestricted immigration either.
Ron Paul has a pretty tough no-nonsense plan to stop illegal immigration and oppose amnesty as well as a reform of the legal immigration system that goes against what traditional libertarians believe. If Ron Paul had stuck with the traditional libertarian position on immigration, I believe he wouldn't be near as popular as he is now. Most U.S. citizens are fed up with illegal immigration and want legal immigration to be limited to reasonable numbers that aren't too high and I'm glad RP recognizes that.

i think illegal immigration hurts both americans and mexicans. However, i don't support the use of force against illegal immigrants. Rather, we should stop subsidizing illegal immigration, and end NAFTA. The last thing we need is a "War on Illegal Immigration."

Why don't we repeal sewers, and/or repeal public (i.e., government) schools, and/or repeal roads, and replace them with private alternatives--that will solve the problem, and repeal the taxes that would pay for them. There is no mention about McDonalds, or Wal-Mart, or Microsoft saying, "There are too many customers, and we are making too much money!"

So, it seems that a lot of people want a crack down on "illegal" imigrants. Be careful what you wish for because the federal government can use this as an excuse to start randomly searching people's houses because they could be letting an "illegal" imigrant live in their house.

First off, I would have to agree the video is correct and/or even underestimating the numbers.

Secondly, the DC speech from Lamm is also right on.

The problem needs to be rectified humainly, and I think the simpleist way is to enforce illegal immigration and deny them the benefits. It sucks, but it's not their country for the taking.

The part that scares the hell out of me is that guys like Rockefeller and Turner see the big picture and know the answer, but to incerate the Mexicans just like the Jews (isn't that what the FEMA Camps are for) can never be allowed. I'm a half breed, whats in store for me?

These people have ONE ANGLE.

If you watched "money masters" you learned that a continued increase in the money supply must be offset by an equal increase in the population. Without this you get inflation as there is too much money per person.

The next angle is this. Dr. Paul is correct in stating that in difficult economic times immigrants are 'scapegoated" just as they were in Boston at the turn of the century with Irish folks. They are handy "whipping boys."

You have learned from the hose job we have been given by the status quo in our attempt to get Dr. Paul elected (you did notice didn't you?) that the status quo has done everything they need to to assure they remain in control. State GOP anyone?

These environmental groups are well in the hands of the status quo. Greenpeace has a president, he supports nuclear power. (You have to be kidding me right?)

The NRA leadership supports gun control. (this is a sick joke, right?)

The GOP likes taxes and wars (huh?).

Do I think 50,000 Mexicans need to come to Texas every night? No, obviously.

Ireland, which has the most liberal immigration policy of any nation also has a "booming" economy. Probably not just a coincidence.

West Germany at the close of WWII took in 12 million additional citizens. The economy boomed. Again, probably not a coincidence.

I watched some of Roy Beck's other interviews talking about family planning in other countries. He seems to have a population control undertone. He's not about freedom and liberty. He's ultimately about government control.

Have you YouTubed UN Agenda 21? Ron Paul is for FREEDOM 21, not the UN Agenda 21. This program is for UN Agenda 21.

And, those numbers are only recorded numbers. This dosn't include the numbers of illegal immigrants that the government allows into this country. So the red section of the chart is much much higher then what is shown here.
Again, this is a result of decisions from a few who can in no way make all of the decisions for this country. This is exactly why congress and the house of reps. are to limit executive powers of the president and those in the administration that are only acting on their own self interest.
It is past time to wake up America. If we do not continue to educate the people here at every level and also try to get Ron Paul into the oval office this country could explode at the seams and we will see in our life time our own civil liberties, freedoms,etc. be totally wiped away right in front of our eyes.
We the people can and are responsible of changing a government that is trying to completely control this country. It is not their responsiblility to regulate our lives. Our government needs to be cleaned out and set back on track as our fathers have so declared in the constitution.

American Suicide

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity by many of America's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stoo d up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America. The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States. He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.''

'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said: 'First, to destroy America, turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country.' History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that d o not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, and Corsicans.'.

Lamm went on: Second, to destroy America, 'Invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal That there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

Third, 'We could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multiethnic and m ulticultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentricity and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.'
Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.'

'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.'

'My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic ide ntity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology.' I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.'

'My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship, and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common Language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games. A common enemy, Persia, threatened their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' --From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of t he 'Unum,' we will balkanize America as surely as Kosovo.'

'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits; make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-culturism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cu mulative impact of millions of them.'

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed. Finally he said,. 'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis's book 'Mexifornia.' His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America. If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.'

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today. Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America - take note of California and oth er states - to date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.'

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path especially The American Dream.

Thank you for sharing that video Freedom1776. That put the immigration issue under a whole new light for me. I had previously only been outraged because of the lack of enforcement of immigration laws and the lack of border security. Now I see the problem runs much deeper than that. Clearly, even legal immigration at these levels is unsustainable and immoral.

...do you think the numbers lie? There are too many people entering the US both legally and illegally and the 'leadership' in this country allows it to continue in spite of the fact that most citizens do not want it to continue.

It looks like the usual calamity video just with an immigration take. It is well crafted showing peoples expressions in the audience and a black man to keep it from appearing xenophobic.
