Am I Reading Too Much In To This?

I have been trying to figure out why the corporate media has been running the global food shortage story.

It didn't make any sense to me that the same media that spends all of its time trying to distract us from any real problems and issues suddenly want us informed about a real and growing problem.

Then I was watching CNBC a few days ago when the anchor (Erin Burnett) starts taking about Archer Daniels Midland stock. She says something like "With all this talk about global food shortages, Europe and the rest of the world are going to be under more pressure to accept genetically modified foods and ADM is one of the biggest makers of genetically modified food."

A felt like a light bulb went on above my head. I think the MSM are hyping the global food shortage story so people will get scared and demand more supposedly higher yielding GM crops.

Or am I just being paranoid?

One other angle to consider

Remember when Homeland Security was flexing their muscles and declaring all those Orange Alerts? For awhile they kept insisting that everyone needed to go out and buy plastic, duct tape, batteries, water, etc. in case of a terrorist attack w/ chemical weapons. Turned out that many people listened and there was a big increase in consumer spending. I think that this may be an attempt to give a bump to consumer spending by making people panic and stock up on many things they don't really need. If you get extra food, just don't put yourself in debt or overdo it. There may be no actual shortage and remember that we must also trust in providence.

fearmongering and overloading with information

Keep the masses frantic, it makes them easily hypnotized.

It's not paranoia

if they are actually doing it. I agree, it was the same thought I had about the rice shortages being manufactored to push the gm rice.

God Bless you for thinking : )

I think you are on to something personally- and hey if we're way off ...remember- paranoid people are the ones who bring attention to the injustices- the normal folks assume its all the way its supposed to be : )

Who Knows?

One thing for sure:
1. Control the money - Federal Reserve
2. Control the energy - oil/gas prices
3. Control the food supply - food shortages (alleged)

Control the world.

That's three things

lol

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

Yes, I have the same impression

For years the food industry has tried to make the people accept GM crops. At least in Europe it is highly unpopular. Maybe they now will try to make people believe only GM food is the solution for a sustainable food supply. I have read recently hedge fonds have started buying farmland.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Tyrannical governments...

... control the food supply to control the people. They want to keep us worried so we will grovel and beg and plead for their help.

Making some money off of our fears in the stock market is just a secondary game for them...

and

easier to herd a hungry crowd to the nice fema spas for their special vaccines too

i don't think so

Fortune Favors the Bold

I mean, it is a pretty huge story, with political disruptions all over. I think some people may be trying to cash in on their soft commodities, personally.

You may be on to something

This reminds me of the new release movie Michael Clayton.
