Yes now it is oil..but soon

Yes now it is oil..but soon it will be water and food. One of the most wonderful things about America is its soil and its water. We need to get organized about this.

They can take my water...

I'll give them all they want, right after I get done using it.

against it. It has already passed the house in PA.

WE MUST STOP THIS!!!

Please look over the following information ASAP.

Great Lakes Water Resources Compact‏

http://www.cglg.org/proje...
There's a link... it gives all the information we're looking for I believe.

Bill status (passed/failed/pending) and if you look at the individual state bills links, it'll give sponsors of the bills, so it'd be best to go after those who have not signed on to the bill yet in the respective states. We can use the meetup system and freedomfortress.net to reach out to people in their areas for activism.
Also this link gives a list of ALL the KEY CONTACTS broken down state by state. http://www.cglg.org/proje...

STOP the Great Lakes Water Resources Compact.
It's all about a UN Agenda 21 styled attempt
to take complete control of the Great Lakes
water resources, and take all other private water
rights away from everyone in Ohio, and seven
other states. Ohio's back is up against the
wall on this now. As of March 22, Michigan is
the only state that has not passed any
legislation on the Great Lakes St. Lawrence
River Basin Water Resources Compact in either
legislative chamber.

In Wisconsin, Ohio and
Pennsylvania legislation has passed in only
one legislative chamber, but has not become
law.

The other four states involved in which
the compact has been signed into law are
New York, Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois.
We don't need the Compact as we already have
a Federal law protecting diversion of
Lake Erie water that was passed in 1986 and
renewed in 2007.

It is called the 'Water Resource Development Act'.
Rep. Mathew Dolan sponsors this new bill to
'protect' our already protected water.
It will do just the opposite! The wording in it
will place all water of the 'Basin' under
state control (public/state trust).
Understand, that the 'Basin' is not the edge of
Lake Erie but extends deep inland. This means
your private wells, ponds and streams will be
put in a 'public/state trust' controlled by the
state. Your GOD given right to water will be
converted to a privilege under state control,
thru the 'public/state trust'. This 'privilege'
can be revoked at anytime by the state and there
is no law to protect you from that if your water
is in a 'public/state trust'.
This is United Nations Agend 21 on steroids.
It is regional sustainable natural resource control.
What exactly is that? Sound good? It is NOT.
It is unconstitutional, and strips private property
rights away from We The People. This is straight out
of chapter 18 of the United Nations Agenda 21 plan.
I have provided information on Agenda 21, what it
is all about, and how it is being introduced. As well as
links to the Great Lakes Compact and the UN Agenda
21 chapter 18 for comparison.
Please be sure to review this information.
Educate yourself on this, and make sure you understand
exactly what this plan is. We don't want it at all.

The wording looks very much the same in both...wouldn't you say?

Just have to tell you...

read this article in the my local newspaper:

http://www.recordnet.com/...

proponents support changing the language to "waters of the United States".
scary, and i live in an agricultural area that is known around the world.

Check out HR 2421

which is a bill that expands government power over all water. There's an article on World Net Daily about it - in the commentary section, by Henry Lamb entitled "Congress to transform America to socialism."

Where does it end? Free

Where does it end? Free market for food? water? alternative fuel? energy?

Either a big company charges for it...or the government taxes us for it.

How can we put a stop to it. Pretty soon they will be counting the tomatoes in my garden and telling me I have to pay them a fee before putting them in my mouth!

Enough is Enough! We need to start our own free citizens corp. to counter this.

The difference is

when the government is in charge of it, it's a monopoly. They charge high prices and provide low quality and/or create shortages and surpluses due to not responding to price signals. When it's in the free market, it's not a monopoly, but multiple private providers competing to improve quality and lower prices in order to attract customers from competitors. If you learn anything from Paul's economic philosophy, at least learn this.

Summary here could be:

Bottom line, WE DO NOT WANT THE U.N. OWNING the fresh water in ALL the Great Lakes, including the fresh water inland from lakes, ponds, wells, springs, water sheds, rivers, stream, rain-water, cisterns, and did I miss any other source of fresh water?

Now, say what you will, this is HUGE and certainly not in our best interest.

Another post here had many comments, among those were from states they "say" are in a water shortage - another propaganda hype. Posters from those "water shortage" states note there is plenty of water.

Here is a great video (collapse of the dollar)

where the presenter talks about U.S. raising money by selling off assets and privatization, including telecommunications, rail, transportation and WATER. Which, BTW, will be another TAX for us!

http://video.google.com/v...

Sure, but with this issue I

Sure, but with this issue I bet we would end up giving the UN our water/lakes AND we'll probably pay for it as well!!!

How privatization gets water to the poor

"Activists around the world chant the slogan that "water is a human right." Yet more than a billion poor people in the world today lack access to safe drinking water. Twelve million of them die each year from drinking disease-contaminated water...."

Dunno about your link...

I've not read anything from the Reason thinktank since they crawled into bed with Phillip Morris in the early 90's and pushed that secondhand smoke was a blatant attack on smokers... lol.

Your signature, the anti-9/11 one... you do realize that by dividing supporters you are grouping them. That's about as anti-Paul as you can get... it's about individual liberty, remember?

I only drink privatized water

I choose not to drink tap water, which in my area happens to be controlled by the government. It's not as clean and tasty as the privatized water I buy in bottles.

Being opposed to privatization make no rational sense, that I can figure.

My water comes from the

My water comes from the ground. It was put there naturally, not by the government nor any company. Water for my family has come from that well for decades. NOBODY is going to come in here and ever tell me that I must pay THEM for that water.

private wells

will fare no better, its only a matter of time before government puts meters on people own wells,,,,,how will you feel about that

That will NEVER happen!

That will NEVER happen!

tagging in PA

In Pennsylvania, the gov't is tagging wells. Once they get a list of all wells, then they can start to charge a well permit tax.

Other states require a permit to drill a water well. The permit is on file with the state, and there is usually a one-time fee for the permit.
What is to stop these states from starting a well tag fee every year, or a yearly well inspection fee?

GEEE....

and we're all so suprised to hear YOU say that.

Why?

Because I'm a Paul supporter and Paul is a free-market capitalist in support of privatization too?

free market is one thing

the monopoly of basic ammenities by corporations or wealthy entities is quite another

It's the opposite

If government owns all the water supplies, THAT's a monopoly. If water ownership is privatized, that's a free market with competing companies supplying water.

If you're against monopoly, then you should be against government ownership.

So I suppose you support privatization of the military too...?

Your posts leave a bad taste in my mouth, and it's not from the water.

And I don't know how you would draw that conclusion from the idea that someone is in favor of privatization of utilities.

hm

Fortune Favors the Bold

well, this is irrelvant to privatizion, but the "taste" of tap water is usually derived from minerals, whereas the "taste" of bottled water, is mostly small amounts of melted plastic.

Is plastic bad for you?

"first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property" -Thomas Jefferson

Well, Yes!

SOME plastic are worse than others, #3 for sure.

What's #3?

"first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property" -Thomas Jefferson

Turn you plastic bottle/container

over and there is a number on the bottom - the # is surrounded by triangle of 3 arrows. My OJ #1, Milk #2, Salad dressing #1, frozen Lemon Juice #7...

My club soda had no number on it. Perhaps the heavier the plastic, the higher the number? Don't know, except that #3 is bad. (and a couple numbers higher than that, but cannot recall except #6). Also, should never freeze plastic bottles as releases additional carcinogens.

OMG, I should get rid of my Lemon Juice as it was frozen and is a higher number. The things you find when you lease expect.

I'd heard about the freezing many moons ago.

Freezing liquids in plastic containers

That freezing thing relates to the #3 plastics, polycarbonates, with contain bispheyl A. Freezing liquids in #2 plastics (high-density polyethylene), such as reused milk and orange juice jugs, is perfectly OK, as they do not contain bispheyl A or plasticizers.

BTW, the very WORST thing you can do (and I used to do this years ago!) is to heat up in the microwave food that is in those disposible, styrofoam "clamshell" carryout containers ---- by doing this you will release LARGE amounts of styrene which is VERY toxic and carcinogenic! I suffered from acute styrene poisoning once (not from that way, though), and it was nasty! My lifetime chances for liver cancer probably went up by orders of magnitude just from that one incident.

And, some minerals are

And, some minerals are necessary for your body.

It wasn't that long ago when

It wasn't that long ago when there was no municipal water service and much of the worlds populations, even people in the U.S. harvested water from rainfall. If our roofs and other surfaces are set up right and connected to cisterns its a great way to collect and store water.

I have to say though

Fortune Favors the Bold

water is one of the rare cases where public ownership, at least in the US, has worked very well. Everyone in America has access to clean drinking water.

Let's simplify ...

Let us use a simple model.

We no longer live on Earth.

We live on Onewatersource.

Rupert Murdock owns the real estate around the only water source on this planet.

What would a true industrialist do?

What would a money whore do?

A true industrialist would maximize utility not profit, because he knows that by accomplishing the first he indirectly maximizes the second.

A money whore would be overthrown by a revolution and probably be beheaded.

This would also occur to the industrialist eventually if he/she did not find a way to allow market forces to dictate the price of water.

rhino

Fortune Favors the Bold

see my post below where i respond to that argument

This one?

someone mentioned "it would be up to owner to defend his property" This is my point. Hypothetically, someone could extract some water, and because they have a claim to the water source, no one can compete. Hence, since the state recognizes the water as "his property", the state is protecting a monopoly on the water source. Say the person wasn't an industrialist, but just sort of lazy. They might extract enough water to live comfortably, but nothing more. If anybody else tried to use the water source, the state would defend him, because its his "property."

I think this is an interesting discussion, and I appreciate various thoughts and arguments.

If there is one water source then there would be a revolution. But this world has an ample supply to create competition.

ok

Fortune Favors the Bold

i see your point.

How do you know water wouldn't be cheaper and cleaner

if it were left to the free market? You may think that we have a good water situation, but you can't see what's being prevented by the government takeover. If the government weren't involved, water may well be much better and cheaper. But we'll never know until we privatize and find out.

This is a U.N. initiative

not good!

Please read my post about what is happening in Australia now!

Give it time ...

the U.S. is fortunate, but not fortunate enough to defeat free market theory.

The problem with this water today

is it is contaminated from the chemtrails/spraying us with who knows what. The water could be used for plants and animals, I suppose, but would still have a major concern about that.

Oh Jesus ...

I now know who you are.

I f your message was pure, it is now tainted.

What is that supposed to

mean? You don't know me, so why the implication of some concern with my posting?

How do chemtrails contaminate the water supply?

How do chemtrails contaminate the water supply?

My post was under

the post about collecting rain-water. As we know, when it rains, it purifies the contaminates from the air, thus my comment on possibly contaminating the rain water.

Also, many noted white, sticky stuff all over everything from chemtrails - rain would ultimately wash it into the water supplies. Same as the water supplies now containing large amounts of common and prescription drugs. Haven't herd about that either? The earth will filter a certain amount of contaminants, but run-off and septics cannot control.

You still did not answer my question...

Is there 1 billion or 1 million ways to ...

contaminate the water supply more economically?

i am more concerned

Fortune Favors the Bold

with all the trace anti-depressants that are turning up in the water.

Just LUV3 exaggerations...

don't you. We were not talking about ways to "contaminate" the water supply - it was just a side note. Not sure what your problem is with this issue.

They already contaminate the public water supply with fluoride.

Did you even read the posts or too much information to absorb thus contaminating the brain.

I respectfully ask that you answer the question

Brain.

I'll answer your remark AFTER

you answer my question posted twice.

Your question has no merit, while mine is for clarification of your, not so subtle, remark.
