...but I'm still curious about the cumulative total (so far) for THIS quarter. That ticker only shows the ending total of the 1st quarter. Guess I may have to wait until August to find out....
Not quite on topic but I had my refund mailed. Does anyone know when I would receive my guvmint handout? That is the day I would like to see a money bomb!
They took down the donation ticker because donations essentially stopped. I can't point fingers at people for not maxing out donations, because I could not afford to do so.. being unemployed and all. I did however donate what I could from a few things I sold. But people just stopped donating. The money bombs became a joke. The media silenced Ron Paul and did their best to make him look like a quack. New supporters may still be coming, but the support through money just does not seem to be there anymore.
I hate to say it, but even as much as everyone is supporting Ron Paul, they appear unwilling to still put their money where their mouth is. I fully believe he could win given the right circumstances. But even with that, most people just see little chance that the establishment will allow him to stand a chance. So they are not willing to donate anymore. They figure why donate to someone who they won't let win? Lost cause as far as they are concerned. They will vote for him, and show support for him still.
The fire appears to have died down... and unless something can ignite a new spark in it, I think things look grim. That's not to say that he hasn't made a huge impact on this election. Whatever happens, he still has my vote and if I get this job soon, I will be once again donating money to the campaign. Things don't look promising, but I am not giving up yet.
The focus is no longer on funding the campaign. He has plenty of money now and the efforts must be focused on being elected as delegates. The money means nothing at this point. The only thing that is important is winning the delegate wars. www.paulforronpaul.com
Nevertheless, donations haven't stopped completely. According to the ticker that they have over at http://www.ronpaulforpres... , there's still a daily tally, at least ($590.00 sofar today, for instance). I know it might not be nearly as exciting and inspiring as last year, but still....maybe donations would pick up a LITTLE, if people could still see a cumulative total for the quarter...
