Ron Paul FOX Interview - Says "I Wouldn't Support McCain" 5/6/08

In the past hour Ron Paul was interviewed by Neil Cavuto on FOX News. When asked whether he would support John McCain in the general election Ron Paul said that he wouldn't be able to do that unless the Senator has an epiphany. He did not commit to supporting either Obama or Hillary however, who he insisted were no better. He said that he would have to seek alternatives in the general election.

Here is the clip and the full interview:

wow

cavuto is such a little bitch....

Ron Paul was dignified as always, being patient even with the condescending tone of a shameless shill with no manners.

This guy Cavuto

is simply annoyed they haven't get rid of Ron Paul's candidacy.
Just remember http://www.youtube.com/wa....
Poor guy, he is just too short to reach Ron Paul's knees with his arms up.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Why

is it the Cavuto's of the world can't seem to understand there are citizens with principles who will just refuse to vote for a candidate which fails to reflect those principles. So the media and their masters shove three useless people who hold no integrity, ethics or principles down our throats and act bemused when the stray sheep fail to follow the herd. Party unity is for people who can't think for themselves, like Mr. Cavuto, apparently.

Don't be silly

Cavuto is not necessarily giving his own views. He's a reporter and he's asking questions that he thinks the audience is wondering about and would like answers to. Like a good reporter, he plays devils advocate from time to time. Don't take things so personal. Cavuto is on of Paul's biggest fan on Fox News, and has him on for more interviews than any other reporter there, since early on in the race.

Yup

I totally agree with you; while I agree that Cavuto had an early and quite negative history with Dr. Paul (which still affects my perception of his character and intelligence), I have noticed that as the months have passed he's become much more respectful, polite, and genuinely interested in the finer points of Dr. Paul's philosophy, not the least because his viewers largely demand it, but also probably because Dr. Paul's success only grows. His new book is certainly a reflection of that popularity, and itself has garnered him even more richly deserved praise. You can see the subtle changes in behavior while they speak; when Cavuto interrupts him, he often apologizes, though in this particular interview he only acknowledges his own rudeness once, near the end.

While there's always been a certain smugness to Cavuto's delivery and comments, I think he's had his ass verbally abused by Dr. Paul's raging logic and rational so many times that he knows not to throw out inane, accusational talking points. Give him credit where it's due; he has had him on the show frequently, and treats him with more respect than almost anyone in the Old Media, which is incredibly ironic. If nothing else, he's certainly reminding viewers of his show that aren't already aware that Dr. Paul is still in the race, and that there's some good reasons why.

After all this is over (i.e. the election), I'd still like to hit him upside the head with a gravel-packed snowball... ;)

For liberty!! *gong*
