John McCain's Campaign calls Arizona delegates...Just 3 questions

Today I recieved a call on my cell phone and it went like this....(to the best of my memory--and I did take fast notes)

"Hi Mr.________ __________,

I said, "Yes"

This is the Republican Convention calling you and we are calling all the Arizona Delegates to take a survey. We would like to ask you 3 questions.

I said, "Who is calling me?"

She said, "The Arizona Republican Convention"

I said, "the Arizona Republican party?"

She said, "No the Republican Convention, you are a State Delegate, correct?".

I said, "Yes, Ok"

She said, "Let me know if you agree with these statements. The war in Iraq has yet to be won, we need to keep our American forces in in Iraq and get the job done. Do you agree"

I said, (with fingers crossed behind my back -- gee I am glad my little brother taught me that one)... "Yes, definately"

She said, "For five years the USA has not had a terrorist attack, thanks much in part to the Patriot Act. Do you support the Patriot Act?"

I said again, with fingers crossed behind my back "Yes, absolutely."

She said, "and the last question, in the Arizona Primary, who did you vote for?"

I asked, "Who are you guys again?"

And she answered, "The Republican Convention"

I answered, "Well I voted for McCain, big time, Go John McCain! I hope that helps."

She said, "Yes. This concludes our survey. This survey has been paid for and funded by the Committee for John McCain. Thank you."

Dial tone. She hung up.

There you go folks, the McCain camp is trying to Vet out Ron Paul delegates in the state of Arizona. Nothing in the questions would vet out Huckleberry or Romney's people.

This also shows us that the McCain camp someone has all 2000 names & phone records of all Republican Delegates in the State of Arizona. Now they are busy vetting this list for the May 10th Convention in Mesa, AZ.

Question: Why can or cannot Ron Paul secure the same information?

We need info on who is and who is not a Ron Paul delegate. At the State convention, we must know who on that list we are going to vote FOR, and who we should ignore.

Pass the word...if you get a phone call from a nosy parker, cross your fingers and cheer for John McCain.

OP - Caller ID can be spoofed. I'd call your phone company and have the actual number traced. I think it costs just a few dollars. Get the ACTUAL phone number that was used.

So has anyone tried calling

So has anyone tried calling the number?

NM.. Won't work.. The number links to an answering machine and a quick greeting for the JM camp. After that it goes straight to a disconnect.

They did the same thing in Oklahoma

Several Oklahomans and I got the same call from the "Oklahoma Republican Party."

They're trying to see how much they need to prepare for your upcoming convention, and it sounds like you answered correctly.

But look out, here's what happened at Oklahoma's GOP convention:

Oklahoma

They should NEVER have allowed that vote to go by in Oklahoma. This is why we MUST know Robert's Rules -- I repeat, MUST.

bump

keep this at the top

A question no one seemed to answer

Why does John McCain campaign need to know who you support since they can just check who you voted for?
Why dont they just get the voter reciepts? If this was a rigged election then it seems that this is working for our benefit now lol

Congressman Ron Paul

My County cannot see who you voted for

Since becoming a Republican, I was offered a volunteer job at Maricopa County to hand count and verify ballot votes. I was one of two dozen volunteers for Republicans. There were the same amount on the other side for the Democrats. We paired off in 3, either two republicans & democrat, or two democrats & republican. We had guest passes and we roamed around were ever we wanted, asked questions and learned about all the "double blind" processes that were in place. We choose already computer counted ballot boxes at random, and we then sat down at a table and hand counted that box to verify the counts accuracy. We matched the count to the machine count. We did not look at the machine count record until we were done counting.

The ballot machine was very sensitive. Our ballots looked like this:
Mitt Romney ======President
Ron Paul ======== President
John McCain====== President
Mike Huckelberry ===President

All a voter had to do was take his black marker, fill in the line connecting the name to the word President. Some people, going down the list, would unconsciously put a dot next to a name or even inside the ===== and then when they found the name Huckelberry, they would solidly fill in the lines ===== . Thus if someone just put a "dot" somewhere - anywhere- on the ballot, it was not counted by the machine. But we counted it. Our judgment was needed.

It was a humbling experience. Though we had Arizona freeways and every road corner smeared with Ron Paul signs,....though our mass mailings to registered republican voters, and meet-ups walked our precincts....it was humbling to see the Ron Paul did not get the votes. It was not that they did not know who Ron Paul was or what he stood for, they did know, they just disagreed. Either that, or, like my two democrat counting friends said to me:

"If you are not on TV advertising, then to the voters think you are not 'Real'. A viable Presidential Candidate proves they are viable by being on TV. Ron Paul did get the free TV time, but they always painted him as 'not a serious un-viable candidate'. The Paul campaign never ONCE countered this MSM message with paid for TV time. In New Hampshire, it was McCain who sought out the cameras, who voters saw as a "real choice" and the Paul campaign blew all that money on a 5 page brochure."

They may have a point. A good political campaign "manages the message" as well has how that "Message gets interpreted". To manage the message is "Spin". Spin is everything these days. We in the Revolution did our own Spin, made our own youtube videos, some where real tear getters! Some really touched our passions and heart and minds. The Paul Campaign put nothing out on TV that did the same to the general public.

When Dr.Paul still gets on TV, but even now the MSM spins him and his message as "fringe", "something to think about" and "always interesting". They ask "Why are you still here?" ...to which they get a weak reply and on PAID for TV, we get nothing about Ron Paul still in the race for the White House. MSM asks, "What are you going to do with all this money you still have?" and what MSM hears is that its not going to be spent telling the public he is a Viable Candidate still worth voting for. The Paul campaign aimlessly suggests they may start a book company with it...

The only interesting thing I learned at the County building was how well they --government employees---had systemization the separation of names from ballots. They have made it so that it is impossible to connect the two. This goes to your question. They kept the computers safe and took many steps to insure nothing funny could occur--as best as I could tell. Then again, in Vegas I saw an elephant walk under a very large sheet and then disappear. Don't ask me to explain the trick, I haven't a clue. If there is a trick going on computer software wise, then like the elephant on stage, I couldn't see it. There are still libertarians that challenge the process, look to the computer software issues... but all I can say I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied.

I walked over and matched myself up with two democrats.... and at lunch I learned these two 50-something ladies were really two "socialists-progressives"--former green party card carriers, stongly pushing the "universal health care" plank. Much like libertarians who are not republican conservative simpletons, they were not really democrats simpletons. They knew my positions well, just like I knew theirs. I had the thought that it was really LIKE-ABLE people like these that we are fighting with, with them on one end of the rope, and we on the other end, with millions of liberals and conservatives holding the rope in the middle. We are both disgusted because our middle team members don't pull hard. Then it occurred to me that we libertarians & Progressives should just take the battle directly to the source, to each other. Unlike most D's & R's there, we 3 were deeply read and ideological. In a real way we are brothers & sisters, from the same tree branch family, just located on separate ends of the Y. Yet they, like me, where deeply suspicious of the vote count process and thus we felt like spies inside the D & R teams, just there to see for ourselves. They where not happy with prior Green Party counts, just like I was always suspicious of hanky-panky when it came to counting libertarian votes.

What occurred to me then was, of course it was a very safe and objective process, these two, the republican and democrats, are in deep competition, and so much care has been taken. These particular government workers prided themselves on their disinterested systemization that provided clear and open objectivity. They made sure all workers politics was known and a 50% balance was made to be sure that never would there be mostly democrats or republicans working there.

So the answer, at least in my county in Arizona, is that it is impossible for ANYONE to know WHO you voted FOR. Unless you tell them, and even then, they must take your word for it. Word is that John McCain in 2000 told people that he and his wife voted NOT for Bush, but for Gore. It all hearsay, but there is no way to check and see if that is true or not.

Very nice

I like it

God damnit..

I hate John McCain

AZ call

Got "the call" on my wireless while traveling...missed it...darn. Tried to call back but got a busy signal.

McCane is running scared in AZ!

After today's votes in NC and IN he should be!

"What have you done for Ron Paul today"?

Since big mouth hypocrite

Since big mouth hypocrite Rush Limbaugh can start an operation, I am going to start one of my own. Let's call this Operation False Flag.

When the McCrap campaign...oops, I mean the RNC calls, you tell them that you have been a McCrap supporter for years. The Patriot Act was the greatest law ever passed and the War on Iraq is to fight the evil 'terrorists' who want to strip us of our freedon. McCrap has the vision America needs and is a candidate of 'great' strength for the party. Cross your fingers behind your back and have a vomit bucket available for after the call.

Then when we have the majority of delegates, we will show ourselves and rule the day unless the Neo-Con's pull some more dirty tricks. Know the rules for the convention and be well dressed when you do show up.

This is your fat commander and chief of Operation False Flag U.S.A. stand at ease until we have more instructions for you.

LOL

~peace

a vomit bucket!!!! i'm still chuckling-thanks for that post!!

Hahaha, great sense of humor! You have me craking up!

Operation False Flag will be a success! Oh, I hope I get that RNC call! Where's my vomit bucket?

Yes sir! Awaiting further orders!

Something makes me wonder

I wonder if this election wasnt rigged shouldnt they know easily who voted for McAmnesty and who didnt????

Just curious - how does one record a call...

...when they're on their cell phone...?

http://groups.yahoo.com/g...

good question xntryk1

Depends what cellphone model you got. Most nokia's can record while youre on the phone. Anything other than that will require both a mini digital recorder. You could get that for $60-$70 for a good one from 'BEST BUY'. You will also need an extension wire that fits both in the phone's headset jack and the recorder's jack.. Its good to always have a mini voice recorder in your pocket anyways because you never know when you might just need it.
I guess youll find everything you need at 'BEST BUY'

"let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeoprady"

Congressman Ron Paul

Couple of methods...

You can do one of several things, though none of these has the convenience of simply enabling the phone itself to record the conversation (which I don't know how to do yet). You can put the phone on speaker and either use an audio recording device or perhaps software on a computer (using the microphone track on a laptop or desktop, or an actual microphone itself plugged into such), such as SnapZPro, Jingo, iChat, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, GarageBand, ProTools or some free software online, if you can find it.

Without access to a computer, I'm not too sure, though I know there's some nerds on this site who could just take what I said and school the shit out of it. If there's one among you who could help out (with the added bonus of making me jealous), please make yourself and your advice known to us all, while we ready our supplies (such as the aforementioned puke-bucket, some paper towels, a change of shirt and pants, and air freshener - I recommend "Mountain Breeze" or "Citrus and Light").

For liberty!! *gong*

This is very important to keep bumped

not everyone will think to do this. Great work. Let's please keep this bumped people.

yikes!

If i had to utter such obviously vulgar language i think i would...(well just picture Jim Carey in Ace Venture Pet Detective- when he finds out Finkle is the woman)
*I do not fear death, I fear life without liberty.*

Same phone call we got in Nevada!

You answered perfectly. Let them think McInsane is going to have a convention hall full of delegates, then take off your masks at the appropriate time. I'm telling you, the more stealth you can be, the better. As long as the right Ron Paul people know who you are, wear a McCain sticker, wear a wacky red, white & blue outfit, wear your flag tie. If they try to pull some fast moves, you'll be in on all the action & can secretly report back to you leader. You will have the time of your life.

Hmm

yes, I like your idea. You can say you voted for the presumptive nominee.
You can always say you have changed your mind later, you did not even knew about Ron Paul before, you thought McCain was criticial of the war and would end it Z(as some NH voters thought), you heard McCain recently say the war was about oil and that made you switch your vote from McCain to Paul etc. McCain will still have a lot of slip-ups in the coming months, e.g. enough reason to "change" your opinion :-)
Everybody receiving such a call should adopt your strategy.

Call your telephone company

Call your telephone company and have the call traced. Find out the number of the person who called. Reverse lookup the number and see if you can determine who made the call.

Report the information to the FEC.

Thanks for the heads up

I will ignore my phone.

Hm, file fraud charges?

Let's see; three times she identified herself as the "Republican Convention", then at the very end, she stated that the call was paid for by the Committee for John McCain.

So. Not "The Republican Convention" but "the Committee for John McCain." A McCain supporter impersonating and representing herself as the Republican Convention (was this with the Rep. Convention's permission?).

Now, I don't pretend to know all the laws, but, isn't there some sort of FCC violation there, just waiting to be filed?

I hope you have the caller's number in your cel phone's memory.

I do, here it is...

Info about this number is

Info about this number is available at http://whocallsme.com/Pho... and http://800notes.com/Phone... - it seems like the McCain camp is making a lot of people mad with all their calls...

Oh my goodness!

They called me, too. I checked my called ID for calls that I missed. Sure enough at 3:04 pm today. UGH! I am so glad that I didn't answer it.

Hey there...

you should get the minutes from the Republican Party concerning the Senate/County Convention, along with the delegate info which is public record...and start phone banking. Anyone can do this and it doesn't take special credentials.

I'm still so new to politics

I live in Arizona and I want to help this weekend at the convention. Is there anything I can do? Who actually votes for the delegates? Can I vote? How do I know if they are Ron Paul supports if they have to deceive the McCain Camp? Thanks For anyone's help

ok...

You can volunteer to help keep the convention moving...registration, etc.

You have to be a delegate to that convention to be able to vote for the delegates that will move on to the next convention.

If you are not currently a delegate, you may not participate in any vote that takes place. You can only watch.

Did your

mouth feel dirty after that? I know mine would have, but I just might have done the same thing. I can't really say shame on them for doing this, because I personally conducted a phone poll in my BPOU to figure out the Paul supporters so that I would know who to vote for delegate. I simply asked them if they were planning on going to the convention and who they support for president. When someone told me that there was only one option, I said that there are more options and that they should research that. Never said the name of a candidate except to confirm who they told me their choice was. I managed to get by with it, and had a small list of names to make sure I avoided!

That's dirty

The McCain campaign and most in the RNC are a bunch of liars and cheats. Anytime someone else does something wrong, the media and McCain are all over them. But when McCain does something wrong, they all look the other way.
