I have used colloidal silver. It is an anti-bacterial and to some degree an anti-viral. However, NOTHING just "works". Meaning that there is no magical cure to fix all ills. So what do you want it to work for?

For instance, if you have some sort of rash, whether it is bacterial, fungal, or viral you need to be careful in using it since metal sensitivity is one leading contributor to certain forms of skin rashes.

Also, it is important that you do not "make" it unless you REALLY know what you are doing. If you make your own colloidal silver either improperly, or from non-pure sources (like coins or sterling) then you can do a great deal of harm to your body.

In addition, anti-bacterials are not good to take on a regular basis (contrary to many claims about colloidal silver). The fact is your body contains a great deal of bacterial mass and 99.9% of that bacterial mass is beneficial. It helps in everything from digestion to protecting sensitive areas. Would you take an anti-biotic in the same way that you would take a vitamin? I would hope not. When you kill beneficial bacteria, you cause yourself harm. Therefore, you should only attack your bacteria when you have a bad one that must be destroyed, and the good bacteria that dies with it is collateral damage.

Did you know that it is illegal to claim that any food substance has any health benefit. You may have heard of sailors in the merchant marines in the old days when they got scurvy they ate lemons, limes or oranges to cure it. Because scurvy is a vitamin c deficiency which is in these fruits.

Colloidal Silver has never been proven by any research as a cure for anything. In fact, it can be dangerous. I use two sources for alternative medical advice. Dr. Blaylock a very respected neurosurgeon and researcher who is often a guest on Alex Jones and the much more liberal Dr. Andrew Weil. Dr. Weil said this about colloidal silver:

If you are looking for something to boost and support your immune system do yourself a favor and research a quality beta glucan supplement. My neighbor suffered kidney damage a few years ago and attributed it to a silver supplement he was taking, though I am not sure if that was ever the conclusive finding of his doctors or not. But why chance it? Unlike colloidal silver which lacks evidence, may be dangerous, and is full of controversy, Beta Glucan has been used for years. Do some research, read about the studdies done all over the world, read Dr. Blaylock's opinion on it, and then if you agree give it a try. By now almost everyone has heard the story about Paul Karason who the news media calls "The Blue Man". Although the MSM has continually said that he was taking colloidal silver, nothing could be further from the truth.

The Blue Man story became an MSM disinfo event which was produced by a public relations firm and paid for by a pharmaceutical interest. The purpose of this campaign was to scare the public away from using colloidal silver products.

The tactic was to claim that the Blue Man's condition was caused by his use of colloidal silver, implying that anyone who uses colloidal silver would suffer a similar fate. The entire story is a total misrepresentation.

The fact is that Paul has a condition called argyria that turns the skin a blue-gray color. He got this condition by taking his homemade silver compound that was mostly a highly concentrated IONIC silver solution.

When he prepared the solution he believed he was making colloidal silver. He was NOT making colloidal silver. To make the solution even more dangerous, he ADDED SALT to the brew and then used electrolysis to make a high concentration of silver chloride with LARGE particles which is well known to cause argyria. Why would he add salt?

He further applied the compound to his skin causing him to become an internal and external photographic plate. To finish himself off, he used a TANNING BED to "FIX" the silver in his body. Why would he do that?

So, the moral of the story is to know the difference between TRUE colloidal silver and ionic silver or silver proteins.

Been taking it for a long time now. I never, and mean "never'' get sick. The Silver kills ALL KNOWN VIRUSES (including H1N1 which is an influenza virus).
There is even a Congressional Testimony that it kills Malaria. It kills Parvo in animals, Shingles, Herpes, AIDS, all known viruses, and 650 disease causing bacteria.

Yes it does work, we use it as well as many other herbs depending on the type sickness. It should not be used on a daily basis or it will lose its effectiveness to work well when you really need it. Also be sure and purchase the good stuff. I have purchased from the biotic silver from GNC when I needed it in a hurry and didn't have the better stuff on hand. Well I havn't tried it yet but I am now more frequently using homeopathy which is just proving excellent and my sinus problem has being resolved more 95% through sinusitis homeopathy and it has no side effects.

I don't know anything about whether it is good for disease prevention and such. If you dabble with it, be careful. It can turn your skin permanently gray, which makes you appear blue. Really. I take about 1-2 tablespoons/day. I make my own---here's a simple way how:
--Buy 2 silver buillion bars at local coin shop or from ebay.
--Get a small pack (they come in packs of 3) of roach clips, wires, and 9volt connectors. You have to strip the ends of the wires and connect them to the clips. Buy a 9v battery.
--Buy a gallon of distilled water.
--Take a piece of plastic (lid or whatever) and make 2 slits about 2inches apart.
--Get a glass cup (I use a solid ceramic mug to keep light away from the C. Silver as it's being produced) that holds about 8oz.. Put the lid on top.
--Connect the clips to the silver bars and put them through the slits in the plastic. The clips should stop the bars from falling through. Don't let the bars touch the sides of the glass. Conect the battery and wait about 2-21/2 hrs.
You now have Colloidal silver.
There other ways of making it and ways of testing the parts per million. If your c.s. is yellow it's probably too strong with larger than desired silver particles in it.

Yes, have taken it for years. Also give it to my cats. Actually found out about it from cat breeder who recommended it for an ailment one of my cats had. It works! I keep a bottle on hand at all times.
I buy it at Whole Foods....but it is readily available at health food stores or online. Not that I am recommending this, but one time when I was purchasing a bottle of it at Whole Foods, guy working there told me that he had gotten food poisoning so he drank a whole bottle of the colloidial silver at the onset of the poisoning......cleared it up right away.

& while i think it helped me, i don't think it worked as well as it could have b/c i didn't eliminate all of the unnatural junk foods, caffeine & sugar from my diet. supplements & natural products need a pure &/or alkaline system to work at optimum levels. otherwise, they're just fighting w/the other junk & that junk is stronger.
