Crying While Schooling
This year for social studies, my kids have been studying the American Revolution, the structure of our U.S. government, the electoral process, and our founding documents.
Today, we were listening to an audio read of the Bill of Rights. As the words floated out from the speakers in the kitchen, I was arranging some grapes on a plate for my kids to snack on. Suddenly, I realized my son had hit pause on the iPod, and I looked up to see him staring wonderingly at me. He asked me what was wrong. Only then did I realize that I had been softly crying.
To hear the wise restrictions our Founding Fathers had placed against our government, and to recognize, as each one is read, just how constantly and brazenly those protections are violated today...is just heart-rending. I listen to these "guaranteed protections" and think about the FLDS...the border searches...and so much more...and see my little kids hearing these words, trusting in these promises, thinking that they're real...and I fear that I'm just teaching them fairy tales, or stories of How It Used To Be Way Back When.
It saddens me deeply. And then it infuriates me. Which is what keeps me on-task in fighting in this revolution.
So far, my children have the first three amendments memorized (and fully understood), and we're working on the fourth. My children WILL know their protections, and I WILL fight to keep those protections for them!

THANKS FOR SHARING....
IF I MAY JUST SUGGEST...
the correct and powerful actions that you take to empower you and your children can and will encourage you and embolden you to be even more effective in your fight/our fight for liberty and freedom once again. If most people knew how much evil we were really fighting they would be depressed to the point of suicidal, perhaps...
but a very great way to combat that is to do things on a regular basis that will self create your mind and the minds of your children into strength and courage....One of these actions is shooting guns, not once in a while but daily or weekly...
---Now you may ask .."why? what is the point , I am a peaceful person by nature." And the answer is comfort in the knowledge that you have the same type of strength that our founders did. You are not afraid of weapons and the power they represent. You may never have to use them for anything more than target practice. but in doing this one thing you will become stronger inside.
---another thing (which you may already be doing) you can do is writing a good/ well written letter each and every day. to ....(pick one)
---the judge in the FLDS case
---the congresspersons that oversee that district
--your congressperson over any number of good/bad pieces of legislation
--- the aclu
---writing delegates to persuade them to vote for Dr. Paul
---etc.....
that is 365 letters a year. And at least 52 times a year that you would shoot fire a gun....
CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW MUCH LESS FEAR WE WOULD HAVE IF ALL OF US DID THESE FEW THINGS , ALONG WITH OUT CHILDREN OR SPOUSES.....
Thanks for sharing
This is exactly how I felt when I opened my daughter's 1st grade history book last year, and began to read about the Constitution. I felt like this was not an accurate description of our country. We just don't have the same rights/freedoms that this country was founded on. Thank you for sharing this. You write very well. I was hanging on to every word.
I can feel your pain!
One day they will also learn there is no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny..
I, myself, seem to have become exhausted and overwhelmed at the up-hill battle. EVERY day, there is a dozen NEW battles to fight!
Now the Feds want to pass a bill to take control of ALL the water!
The consequences of this action are untold.
Would you trade your guns and ammo for water? What else would you trade for water?
We can only survive for three-four days without water.
I, however, have family I'm very concerned about. Two out of three of my grown daughters, with children of their own, don't want to hear it! I'm a real downer these days.
You and me both buddy
I'm a downer too. My 36 year old daughter cries if I get into this. Heck, I cry!! We have gone so far off that it is shocking totally. We have in our midst, and we keep honoring them as if they are wonderful, totalitarian leaders who are ruining us completely. They are perfectly fine with our death, sickness, mutilation-doesn't matter. Nothing matters to them except fulfilling their power. We know it and are almost completely powerless to do anything about it.
I am concerned about the children living in this. They are bound to be hearing many of our thoughts and they are bound to be scared to death. Just as we are.
It is funny about fear. Our enemy uses fear to control us, but we are extremely fearful of not being able to regain control of our government out of the hands of these people who seem endlessly placed into positions of extreme power.
this is beautiful!
