McCain names Ron Paul as preferred opponent!

McCain was asked on Jon Stewart show who he would prefer to have as his opponent, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

McCain's answer to the question was "Ron Paul."

So we have McCain to thank for millions of viewers to hear the name of our hero and potential savior of the country.

Does McCain realize that Ron Paul is indeed the man who will be responsible for his own defeat? At least he knows that Ron Paul does exist although his mention of him in that context is disrespectful.

How I hope you have done all you can so that Ron Paul will have all the delegates he needs to legitimately win the nomination of the Republican Party in Minneapolis.

In a way I am glad that Ron Paul does not appear to be a contender so that the heirarchy is willing to let more of us become at-large delegates to the convention.

Only because

McPain only said that because he knows RP gets no media coverage. It probably seems to him like shooting fish in a barrel...

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

McCain knows that he doesn't

McCain knows that he doesn't have a chance without the support of Ron Paul and our revolution.

Maybe for some reason McCain actually wants an independent or third party run by Ron Paul. This might be one of the times where we are supposed to read between the lines.

At least Jon Stewert stood his groud

and offered genuine, positive comments about Ron Paul. McCain thought he'd get a laugh or snicker, but he didn't. McCain's campaign is like what he said about Chairman Mao: It's darkest before it goes black.

OP - really doesn't give what happened justice..

On May 8th, 2008 hautediggity says:
"if you watched it, mr. double talk express was trying to make a joke about RP. jon stewart asked mccain who he thought would be his most formidable opponent.

mccain said: "you know, ron paul is still in the race" - hoping to hear a roar of laughter. instead it was crickets.

stewart immediately replies: "really, is that right? i had him on the show. i like ron paul. he's an interesting guy."

mccain then changed the subject b/c he didn't get the response he was hoping for. guess the joke was on mccain."

QFFT!

Front page on CNN

they just posted the video

My thought was

.......................McCain being a tad unbalanced, accidently mentioned Ron Paul is still running (definately in the back of his mind) since the MSM won't let it's viewers aware of this fact. I have a feeling that McCains campaign workers spanked him after the show for the slip up.

My two cents...oops inflation... my three cents

it's up on huff post

watch it here (i think the RP joke is in part 1):

Thanks for the link

There's a possibility that the producer/writers coached him on punch-lines. Of course, there's no way to know which ones, or whether they set him up to flop, or thought it would get a laugh.

One of the things I thought interesting about Ron Paul's appearance was that he's very hard to make fun of; people tend to treat him with respect and when they don't they come off as bullies, bigots and idiots.

IMissLiberty

nah

jon stewart has really good writers - & there was nothing even remotely funny or clever about mccain's comment. this "joke" was clearly in the same vein as "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb iran" & hence, it was definitely the brainchild of our brainless "presumed" gop nominee.

the whole segment was a tragic comedy of errors w/mccain trying to be funny so the cool kids that make up stewart's demo would like him.

I find it psychologically interesting and in our favor.

It tells me one thing.

1. That Ron Paul is indeed more on the forefront of McCain's mind and not in the back of it.

I believe it tells us that McCain to some degree, does see Ron Paul as maybe not so laughable, and as a significant and potentially upsetting contender.

Thank you for the little window into your brain John.

PS. You need to do a little dusting in there.

Make's sense to me

Makes sense to me since McCain is practically a democrat why shouldn't he have a republican opponent!

McCain very nearly became a

McCain very nearly became a democrat in 2004 as John Kerry's VP: http://www.usatoday.com/n...

Isn't it interesting and quite coincidental that the man who wanted to run against our Republican Party back in 2004 is possibly going to become our nominee?

if you watched it, mr. double talk express was trying to make a

Not the first time that McCain's attempt at wise-

cracking humor has fallen on its face. What I find interesting is that he would even bother to mention Dr. Paul at this late stage of the primary process, where he has already been crowned by the MSM as the presumptive GOP nominee. Obama and Clinton are the ones who have been getting the attention in the news lately, and here McCain is trying to further marginalize Dr. Paul who, according to the MSM talking heads, represents no substantive threat to him. Is it the case that Dr. Paul is that ghost that keeps coming back to haunt him? Could it be that the small bits and pieces of economic news from his advisors are hauntingly similar to past warnings from Dr. Paul?

Now...

that's funny!

We should call for a debate between Ron Paul and...

that other guy destroying the GOP.

Ron Paul supportes have accomplished so many wonderful things throughout this campaign, why can't they push for a debate with Jon McCain? We got Dr. Paul on Coast-to-Coast, Glenn Beck, raised record breaking millions in 24 hours, took his book to #1 on Amazon and the New York Times, etc. We can do this too!

According to Jim Tucker, the establishment is worried about RP and John McCain seems to think our candidate is amusing. A debate would be the perfect opportunity for John McCain to prove to the nation that he's everything they think he is.

Come on, John... why not? What do you have to lose? Perhaps, the GOP nomination and ultimately the ELECTION!

and now there is...ONE!

Go RP 2008!

Probably McCain concedes that RP is the MAIN opponent; versus...

senior ManicCain and his CFR sophomore "classmates" Obama & Clinton...

Thought it was a nice comment by Stewart

Kudos to Jon.

McCain's M.O seems to be to make some lameass joke. He thinks these things are funny.

His burkas "joke" as a reference to Ron Paul's statement that he's not an isolationist, and that he wants to trade and talk to all:

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Great, mock their culture.

Was it him who made the Virgins "joke" as a mockery to their religion?

It might've been some other neocon at one of the debates....they're all the same.

Wouldn't it be great if a Middle Eastern political debate said:

"Ha, those stupid americans are more interested in meeting Father and Son in their heaven."

I think we would start a war if those words were said.

Great!

It sounds like Sen. McCain has asked for a debate. The MSM and the McCain people need to be reminded of this everywhere that Sen. McCain shows up.

The Irony Here

He is our preferred opponent.

I know he's got to be illuminati bloodline, I just can't figure out which. Larry, Curly, or Mo. He's just got all the qualities.

"Walls are stronger than the men that defend them."

I am so sick of the Replublican Party
If RP is not on the ballot - I will not
have anything to do with them ever....
There is now only one party Republicrat
(I am now seeing that)
the crap going on in Nevada, Missouri, Texas
who knows where else -
the voter machines...
come on Johnny boy - big war hero - debate Ron Paul...
I mean, come on - you are the winner (right?)
suck eggs - all of them!
Since they won't allow the Republican delgates to follow rules
to bring about change - maybe it will just have to be taken over.

We are gaining credibility

Over a million votes, #1 NYT Bestseller.....we are proving that we area a force to be reckoned with. Make sure everyone you know hears about these two milestones. They may not become converts and may not buy the book (though they should), but they should at least be aware that we are still here and we WILL NOT GO AWAY.

Next time McCain mentions Paul by name, everyone's thought should be "That's the guy who's still in the race."

"No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal
rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him." --Thomas Jefferson

McCain can't stay on subject

because Dr. Paul is what the elites talk about with him. Dr. Paul is the thorn in his side. He hasn't even gotten to the democrats yet.

That jerk McCain meant it as

That jerk McCain meant it as a joke, but Stewart just said how interesting Paul is. It was a joke that didn't work. I wanted to jump through the screen and strangle mcCan't. One more reason I will do everything I can to defeat him.

It's a

defense mechanism. A real man would recognize his opponent and fight fairly and with intelligence. McCain knows in his heart what he is and who he has sold his soul to.

I'm glad Stewart didn't take the bait.

Do what you can

As long as that doesn't include voting for a Democrat.

A Democrat? The two

A Democrat? The two "parties" are one and the same these days. I vote for character, not for party.

Jon Stewart's reaction

Jon Stewart said that he liked Ron Paul and that he was a very interesting guy when he was on the program. He was also very surprised to hear that Paul is still in the race.

Which tells us one thing: he

Which tells us one thing: he still needs publicity, and his strategy to stay in the race to educate the public is a very good idea.

I do hope he runs Third Party after the convention, though.

affirmation: President Paul

affirmation: President Paul 2008
If McCain thinks for one minute that Dr. Paul is not a viable candidate than what a perfect opportunity to challenge him in a debate! We'll see who has the last laugh...Maybe they could have a mini-debate on the John Stuart show since we already know that MSM will not touch this..

GREAT! Called and emailed!

I had emailed twice already (from different email addresses...lol) but THANKS for the phone# which I just called and left a message on as well!

Never Gonna Happen

McCain may be dumb but he is not stupid. He would only stand to lose in such a debate - will never agree to it.

Besides I can't stand the idea of seeing his self-satisfied off camera smirk.

Great idea

John McCain will never agree to debate Ron Paul, but I'd love to see Paul call McCain out.

Letter, fax, and email bomb!!!!

I think it is time to do a letter, fax, and email bomb to the Jon Stewart show requesting that they host a debate between Ron Paul, and McClueless, or at least put the offer out to both the candidates and see if they will respond. Also, add that you would like to have Ron Paul on his show again, especially since Jon thought Ron Paul was no longer in the race, let Mr. Stewart hear it from Ron Paul himself. Jdayh, thank you for posting the contact information for the Jon Stewart show.

What a Kneeslapper!

That smug elitist a**hole McCain should be careful what he wishes for. He just might get it, and much sooner than he expects - at the Republican Convention.

Very interesting

Thanks, for posting. Mclame has Ron Paul on the brain this is good news.

McCain is such an idiot

This put-down is so typical of him- he apparently doesn't feel he needs the support of any Paulites.

Maybe that's good, because HE'S NOT GOING TO GET ANY!!!
