Do we fully and truly appreciate the amazing and rare qualities of this man.
Just ponder the combination wisdom, courage, intellect, energy, schedule, persistence, stamina and bravery.
A 72 year old man who has shown all of these characteristics over all these many years, one can only conclude that he is indeed - a true American hero and treasure.
One for the ages that history will surely remember!

Day by Day
The essence, from his example, is being cloned by the grassroots.
And to realize...
He's been standing in front of Congress, asking them, pleading with them, bashing them... for over 30 years. Fighting for us. Hoping to make a difference, surrounded by idiots and crooks.
He took a break for a few years, but he never gave up.
Think about it. He's not super-wealthy I'm sure, but he's probably in the top 5 percent of income earners in America. He's a medical doctor and a Congressman. He could've lived very comfortably, arguably in the most prosperous time in our nation's history (Lord knows those days are over) and not made any waves. But instead, he's been out there... the lone voice of reason... eating lunch by himself... going virtually unnoticed.
But now, no matter what else happens, he can be rest assured... he did finally make a difference. He is having his revolution. And whether he wins the presidency or not, I think he's made a huge difference politically in this country. Probably more than any president in our lifetimes.
I truly believe that. Because he finally got a large percentage of Americans to wake up and start paying attention to what our government's actually doing.
He's a hero and a true stateman. A man among men.
And a man among thieves.

I was reading his book today
and thinking that not only has this man been working so hard to bring this country back for years, with persistence, patience, courage, and all things you mentioned, but now, he is running for president, and while he is doing this, realizes that he probably won't win, and so while still keeping up his grueling pace campaigning, writes this book to carry on the revolution, knowing that his enemies probably will read it, hoping that it will make a difference. He is selfless, caring, brave enough to take on the most powerful people in the world to do what is right, and he is a genius in many areas, economics, politics, foreign policy, and in dealing with people in the most polite manner. I really love him for what he is doing.
