We are not afraid to piss people off. We are afraid of letting the neo-marxist/neo-cons that are in control of the Republican party continue their “empire building” policies that are leading to the bankruptcy of America. We are afraid of the ongoing expansion of government power and control over our lives and property. We are afraid that our children’s children will be still paying in both blood and treasure for the foreign adventurism of the Bush Administration.

And, yes, we are concerned about a “presumptive nominee” date that is more liberal than some democrats and more inclined to militarism than Bush, Cheney and Bill Clinton combined. America has the strongest military in the world. We should be respectful of that awesome power and the awesome responsibility that comes with the push of a button. We should also not delude ourselves that our economic health is not being eroded by the expense of foreign military operations and commitments.

The Republican party has always been the party that faces reality. The party that is able to cast off the emotional propaganda and see clearly to the true costs of uncontrolled government spending and power. We have won elections by promising to correct the “nation building” of Democrat administrations.

We are not dreamers, crazies, newbies, or kooks. We are U.S. citizens. We are members of the Republican Party. We are not guerilla warriors creating chaos. We have studied the rules and are ready to operate within the bounds of the system. We have that right. We have the right to vigorously pursue the election of candidates that represent our views and hopes. We did not set up the caucus system. We did not create “Robert’s Rules of Order”.

The fact that we have invested the time and energy to get elected in the caucus system and learn the rules of order to pursue the nomination of a candidate that represents our views is the foundation upon which our Constitutional Republic was built. If membes of the party that support Mr. Romney or Mr. Huckabee wanted to participate in the caucus system, they have that right, they had that opportunity to be elected as delegates. Don’t blame us if they didn’t show up.

So, no, we don’t care if you get pissed off. The Republican party is not your personal play thing. It doesn’t belong to you. It doesn’t belong to Bob Beers and it certainly doesn’t belong to George Bush or John McCain. It belongs to all of us Americans that participate in the Republican process to elect leaders that represent our views.

Lastly, you admonish us for wanting the process to be fair. That isn’t a “fair” assessment. We just want the process to be conducted in accordance with the rules. We want the people that administer the process to be bound by the rules that they created.

That you would support the legitimacy of the leadership’s manipulation and disregarding of the rules in support of any one candidate is a clear demonstration of why the GOP is headed for a landslide defeat in November.

Now that’s something to be pissed about.

I did not need to read that. Of course he only got 14%. With the media treatment and the smearing. McCain didn't win the state anyway so why should the party be so behind McCain who is the least conservative of all. This is a vicious loop that needs to be broken.

There is a recent article spreading across the web. http://www.americanfreepr... Petrified about Ron Paul. It is a tribute to our young people and future voters. Comments here seem to validate this article. What is the harm in having fresh new ideas introduced into our party? The American people seem to have come at odds with the less than conservative Republican party and what it has become of late. I am reminded of a quote I have read recently: “A substantial portion of the conservative movement has become a parody of its former self. All we have to do is to begin posting their personal information. The establishment types have another double standard. They only believe that they are entitled to our information and we are not entitled to theirs because they are special and not part of the masses. They are our leaders and they know what is best for each one of us. A recent example is that McCains wife wil not reveal the information on her last tax filing. McCain wants openess and transparancy for everyone but them.

I suggest we post their names, addresses, telephone and cell numbers, email addresses, fax numbers, make and model of the car they drive, memberships they have, summer homes they own, boats and planes they own, the church they attend and any other information we can locate. They already know all of this about each of us and can pull this information up anytime they want. Lets turn the tables on them and watch how fast they scream unfair.

I sometimes find unexpected things when surfing the Internet. Today I found a post written by my son Jason that I did not know about. I think it is well written and provides sound advice to party leaders about their terrible mistake in recessing the convention:

“I was at the Nevada State Republican Convention. I was involved in the process leading up to it. Our strategy amounted to reading Robert’s Rules of Order, reading the proposed convention rules as espoused by the Party leadership, and showing up. There was no attempted “takeover”. We were motivated, excited to participate in the process, and everyone else stayed home.

Before the party leadership illegally recessed the convention without a discussion or a vote we managed to elect 7 out of the first 9 delegates to the national convention. We were on our way to capturing 80% to 90% of Nevada’s entire slate of delegates (31).

The main problem is that the Republican Party leadership is not well acquainted with people expressing contrary opinions. The leaders I’ve come in contact with are incredibly uncomfortable with any individual standing up and saying, “Mr. Chairman, Point of Order” or “Mr Chairman, Point of Inquiry”.

What the Republican Party leadership likes to see is a well managed convention with zero discussion or debate. The problem is that there is no way Ron Paul supporters will win any delegates, or change anyone’s mind on any issue if we do not open up the convention process to allow contrary opinions.

The Party Establishment in Nevada seemed shocked that a super majority of delegates might actually want a fair and honest method of selecting delegates to the National Convention, rather than to rely on a handful of people in a nominations committee.

I ask you: What is the point of attending any precinct caucus in the entire country if the whole thing is rigged at the State Convention? Why even go to a State convention if the only thing you do is listen to a few boring speeches, pray to God, and salute the flag? That’s not the point of a convention. The point of a convention is to decide how the party will operate, and what the goals will be until the next convention. This requires debate, discussion, and sometimes results in conflict. And in the long term it is good for the Republican Party.

I think that the most disheartening thing that I’ve heard since the convention is that it’s “those Ron Paul people” making everything so difficult. If I had to sum it up, I would have to say that with the exception of the last hour of the convention, everything was lively in a positive way. What is democracy without debate?

I understand that there are people who are *not* supporters of Ron Paul, but what they need to understand, is that he has swollen the ranks of the Republican Party, and *everyone* has a right to be heard.

Nevada is a state with *unbound* delegates. This is important. So many of us were drawn to the party with Dr. Paul’s refreshing words and ideas. There is nothing wrong with this. If our party refuses to accept new blood and fresh voices, we will fall. It isn’t just about backing “one candidate for the party”…it’s about re-awakening passion in democracy with the voters.

I am a college student who was apathetic about all of this until I heard Dr. Paul speak. He roused my patriotism. He reminded me that my vote could matter. He let me know that the ideas I believe in can be more than just ideas. I came to the party with fresh hopes. I’m not the only one either. We are the new faces and voices of the Republican Party, so let us participate! We aren’t here to sabatoge anything, we’re here, because in America, we have the right to have a *choice*.

For me, I believe in Ron Paul. I also believe that everyone has a right to believe in whomever they choose…let’s stop berating members of our own party just because they choose differently.
