Mother Teresa

When Mother Teresa was asked to march against the war in Vietnam, she replied,
"No, I won't, but when you have a march for peace, I'll be there."

People have been marching..

for everything... forever. What did it ever accomplish anyway?

Only 2 things create results...

Political action by someone in power.

Voilence and force.

Right

I like to accentuate the positive. Don't recruit me for a protest. But elevate an ideal and I am there. Ron Paul seems to do the same thing. He speaks far more to what needs to be done and far less to other people's problems.

I understand her theory

It's adding focus to something acceptable that cannot allow the thing your against to exist. Being anti something opens that "subject" up for a pro view on some borderline issues. If I march against waterboarding, it brings it to the forefront and opens it up for discussion...I merely become a person who is against it. It also take the focus off of general torture and brings about the issue of whether or not waterboarding is acceptable when looking at it individually. I find it particularly evil that asking certain questions can bring a society like ours to an evil conclusion. Such as asking "should we be killing and eating children?" Of course if some sicko believes in it, they will argue their point and move us toward it in some however small way if you see what I mean. Asking questions can be extremely powerful, for both the good and the bad. I think that our minds lose perspective very easily so we have to be very careful of questions. This is done all the time with polls too, they present questions to you in a way as to make a terrible question somewhat acceptable and give you only certain possible answers.

Do It Anyway - by Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous; be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.
