HOW CAN A CONFESSED CHRISTIAN NOT VOTE REPUBLICAN?
They can’t if they are “walking their talk”. The Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes as well as what is best for the majority of people in the United States are what makes the Election of 2008 an especially critical one in which to vote Republican. Common knowledge states that part of the traditional position of the GOP is Pro-Life, lower taxes and spending as well as less government interference in our lives. I personally know several, truthfully I should say, I know Many people who have recently turned from the Republican Party because of important issues facing Americans today. It is time to change all that fleeing to ensure the perpetuation of the Pro-Life stance. If I personally know many who have fled, the numbers nationally must be astonishing. If the Republican Party could put forth a candidate who is honest, true to the Bible and its principles, and is strong enough not to be persuaded by means deemed in the Bible to be evil, I strongly believe that those many “defectors” would come back. This kind of candidate would also bring in people who consider themselves moderate voters. The Democrats in the United States today are largely disenfranchised because they made a lot of promises they have not kept and it was those promises that allowed them to defeat the GOP last election. So there are even some liberal minds open to recruitment right now. The GOP has a golden opportunity to increase its numbers phenomenally because just such a candidate is indeed running for President of the United States. That candidate is Congressman Ron Paul.
Dr. Paul is honest. “Thou shalt not bear false witness…” are words he lives by and one may see this by simply looking at his voting record in Congress since 1976 or listening to his many speeches readily available through YouTube on the internet as well as congressional transcripts. Our country was founded on one of the greatest documents ever written by mankind, the Constitution. When our elected representatives take their oath of office, they swear to uphold our constitution. Dr. Paul does not and never has voted against what is constitutional. He is honest when he takes his oath. In 1988, Senator John McCain told a reporter that Congressman Paul is “the most honest man” in Washington. Many Americans, of all party affiliations, are currently questioning the levels of integrity and honesty found in our governmental leaders. The 2005 ruling of the Supreme Court in a lawsuit involving Fox News did not help any when it stated that the media has no social responsibility nor any moral obligation to tell the truth even when they label the reporting as news. Many attribute the fact that this lawsuit was even filed to the fact that war is big business and our corporate media outlets are owned almost exclusively by parent corporations that also own companies with large defense contracts. Hence, our news is censored and not always the truth. Another consequence of all this is that Congressman Paul has been heavily censored in our media and it was only recently that one could find any mention of him at all. Dr. Paul’s consistently demonstrated honesty is sure to please many angry voters. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness…” and “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God”.
Dr. Paul has consistently voted Pro-Life and Pro-Family. “Thou shalt not kill.” Dr. Paul is a Christian Ob/Gyn doctor who has delivered over 4000 babies. He has five children, 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. I have read that it is not uncommon for Dr. Paul to provide free medical care to an indigent woman who desperately needed it. “Blessed are the merciful…” Within the scope of Dr. Paul’s presentations of his views on abortion he states an undisputable fact, even to the most liberal mind. If he, as a physician, harms a developing fetus, he is brought up on criminal charges. He believes that rather than have abortion be legislated on the federal level, it should be legislated on the state level. Dr. Paul is Not for an expensive bludgeoning federal bureaucracy, which creates a burden on the taxpayer. His approach to legislating abortion on the state level supports his non-support of Big Government. He voted against the Thought Crime Prevention Bill (currently in the Senate), which abolishes freedom of religion. Dr. Paul’s approach is both Biblical and Constitutional.
The Bible states that love of money is the root of all evil. Money begets greed in evil hearts and minds. Our Constitution was written with that fact, among others, in mind. One need not look further than details to all the scandals, Federal Deficit, and National Debt to see rampant greed within our federal government, not to mention the greed for power. It is so rampant that it knows no party lines. Dr. Paul has been fighting against corruption and greed within our government since 1976. Lobbyists never visit him and his nickname within Congress is purported to be “Dr. No”. Recently, while Congress was debating additional war funding, Dr. Paul was pushing legislation that would allow service industry employees to keep their tips without taxation. The “tip bill” didn’t get through but war funding was passed. The Constitution states that only Congress can declare war and Congress has not declared war since the attack on Pearl Harbor. In his fight against corruption and greed, he has been fighting for the poor. The Bible has much to say in advocacy of the poor. The wealthy minority in the United States has fought hard to maintain the status quo because it has worked so well for them. In adopting this position, little to no consideration is given to the middle class and poor people in our nation who have been devastated and in some cases, financially ruined by the status quo. “It is harder for a rich man to get to heaven than it is for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle”. Dr. Paul’s fight is both Biblical and Constitutional.
Dr. Paul has consistently voted against the war in Iraq and has the best foreign policy ideas on the table right now. Dr. Paul supports bringing all of our troops home now…from everywhere. This idea makes the utmost sense and this is why. Most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi Arabians and when asked why they did it, they stated it was because of our presence in their country. Indeed the presence of the United States in at least 130 countries around the globe is highly unwelcome to the world community at large. When I ask why our country has a presence of this magnitude in other countries, I am usually told it is to protect our interests. Why then, do Russia and China, large countries with probably just as much to lose as us, not have bases spread throughout the world? When was the last time you heard of a terrorist attack of 9/11 proportions on Moscow or Hong Kong? My research tells me that Russia and China place the defense of their countries at a high priority by keeping their forces primarily where they can best accomplish what is best for their national interests…at home. Let me put this another way. We are borrowing (mostly from China and Saudi Arabia) about $3 billion a day to be in Iraq. I have seen reports on the internet that many of our public lands, forests, parks, etc. have been given to China as collateral for our debt with them. For illustrative purposes, let’s assume this to be truth. If China felt they had to protect their interests by coming here and building military bases or even just one, we would be mortified and outraged to say the least. We would feel completely justified in our anger, so why isn’t it acceptable or understandable for people in other countries to feel anger at us? Spreading our military out across the globe doesn’t make us safer, it makes us more vulnerable. We didn’t have the forces we needed to help the Katrina victims or the recent flood victims in the Midwest because they are serving in Iraq. Jesus said to love our enemies. That doesn’t mean we should allow them to harm us but it also doesn’t mean we should be engaging in threatening or pre-emptive strike practices. Ronald Reagan commended Congressman Paul’s advocacy of our nation’s military. Congressman Paul’s fight to protect our military, our lands, and we citizens first and foremost, are not only Biblical but also Constitutional. “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God”.
Upon review of Congressman Paul’s personal, military, and legislative history, one can easily see where my brief essay could quickly be expounded upon to the point of becoming a quite lengthy nonfiction book or documentary with extensive evidence of his standing in, and fighting for, his principles and beliefs, both Biblical and Constitutional. I will leave that further research to you, the dear reader.
The GOP and Christians, if willing to “walk their talk”, have a golden opportunity to advance both causes with endorsements of Congressman Ron Paul. I pray they do.
The new pro-life slim jim card is outstanding
These should be distributed to every church member that you know.
Excellent.

I like to encourage devout
I like to encourage devout Christians to take a look at the Constitution Party (http://constitutionparty....). Not because I'm a member or supporter, but because they are quite libertarian in their Constitutional views -- but with a clear emphasis on upholding America's Christian origins. It's a great way to introduce these folks to libertarian ideas without offending their beliefs.

The Constitution Party is the Best
Yes, phoobaar, the Constitution Party would be a great party for Christians to engage in. I, myself, am actually a member of the Constitution Party, but I'll be voting for Congressman Paul in the Primary and General Elections as a Republican for sure!
Agreed
I think occasionally Christians (I'm one btw) fall into the trap of thinking the ideal government would enforce a moral society. It's clear, however, that the Bible (at least new Covenant) in no way endorses using the threat of violence to force people to behave morally -- in fact, quite the opposite. The "Christian right" is a convenient straw man by which people characterize and dismiss Christians, and to the extent that we're providing them the fodder, we need to stop it. People's lives do not change because laws are passed, they change from the inside out -- we should always remember that.
On another note, is there any evidence or reputable source for the "Homeland security training pastors" story? We should make sure it's true before getting worked up about it or passing the story along.
I Agree
As a Christian who believes in Biblical, limited government, I must say that Chuck Baldwin's article "hits the nail right on the head." Many modern Christians in our country today have bought into the idea that our government should be "paternal," especially when it comes to defining marriage and providing welfare to the poor. These two "acts of authority" are ordained by God and instituted to the Church, NOT the State. One only has to read passages like Romans 13; I Timothy 2:1, 2; I Peter 2:13-17, and others to understand that the government has a limited role to provide defense and the punishment of evildoers. Our Founding Fathers definitely had a grasp of what the Bible taught concerning the nature of governments, and that's why they instituted a Constitution to restrain our government and separate its powers in order to preserve the God-given rights of its people.
As a Christian, I wholeheartedly support our Constitutional republic because it has been the best system of government, to date, which has successfully and sufficiently secured liberties and promoted the general welfare of its freedom-loving citizens. Though it has not been perfect because our Constitution is not perfect and the nature of man is sinful, God has blessed our nation with prosperity and peace for over two centuries, until recently. Sadly, many Christians today have bought into the "neocon" agenda of bigger government, deficit spending, and preemptive wars, being influenced by the whims of so-called "Religious Right" or "Moral Majority" conservative leaders. This has to stop!
As a Christian, I will continue to support Congressman Ron Paul because he is the only candidate who understands the original intent of our Constitutional republic, as prescribed by our Founding Fathers and guided by Biblical principles of limited government. I encourage all Christians to support Dr. Paul if they truly wish to restore morality and justice to these United States because God has blessed him with a considerable measure of intelligence, integrity, and insight to lead this nation back on the path which made it a beacon of light to the whole world at one point in time. Restore the Republic!
Read the article again. Mr.
Read the article again. Mr. Baldwin said the following:
"The Department of Homeland Security is already holding seminars for pastors, instructing them how they should ask their congregants to turn in their firearms in the event that the President declares a national emergency. How many of you pastors are prepared to become an instrument of gun confiscation for global government?
This is what happens when we abandon constitutional government."
He is asking the important question of whether your pastor will ask you to turn in your guns, and this is what people do when they abandon the foundations of this country. He is AGAINST turning in your guns the way I read it, considering he's FOR a constitutional government.
Of Course He Is Against It, Lee
...Chuck Baldwin is a huge Ron Paul fan and I'm sure there are many who found Ron Paul after reading his net articles.
I just found his comment about Homeland Security holding seminars for pastors frightening and, frankly disgusting.
I misinterpreted your post.
I misinterpreted your post. Yes, it's quite disgusting how the Bush administration is setting pieces up so that when the false flag action occurs, all of these pieces will likely be activated "for your safety and security". If that doesn't start the next revolution, I don't know what will.
It's like government that wants to OWN and CONTROL you goes to the people that OWN and CONTROL the mind of a lot of people, their pastor and their religion. Simple manipulation, and if you don't help us Mr. Pastor then we'll revoke your 501c status. I think churches have a moral obligation to speak about politics and what is going on. How they justify that they don't is a mystery to me.
Good Video on this subject

That video made me cry
Ok, that video should make any Christian cry in shame. If Christians would spend more time reading their Bibles and studying the Sermon on the Mount; this kind of thinking would not happen ever. But they spend most of their time worshipping at the foot of Baal in following maintstream news and talk show hosts that pretend to believe the Bible.
I thank God that we have Ron Paul to help shake us out of our stupor, if we will only listen.

Hurrah!
I am very pleased with that although I am not endorsing allof Pastor Baldwin's ideas or concepts. I do believe that he is right - Bible Christians have the most to lose in any loss of the Constitutional order in America.
Homeland Security Instructing Pasters
...about telling their congregations to turn in their guns in the event of a major security issue in the US. Can you believe that? Read Baldwin's article.
